[Spoilers] Shamy: Season 11

I hope they find a way to include the asymmetry thing in their project. They referenced it in 11.5 (and maybe once more?) and it started in s10 so I can't imagine they'll just drop it.

Or if they can't be combined at least give some closure. They could just say they published or make a small storyline out of it for just one episode.

I am not ready for this to end...

Me too. I wish I could get an entire season (or better yet an entire show) to see them attempt to handle their little Homo Novuses. The Shamy saga began with them wanting to have kids, and I wish it'd end with them finally becoming a family ( along with a turtle too; I miss lil ol Giuseppe). And I really wish we could see an episode of Fun With Flags: The Family Edition, with a shot of Shamy and all their kids spewing off flag facts. Amy once said a Ferdinand. T flag would help them get younger viewers, but I think a few Shamy kids would work even better. ā¤ļø

During the vows, I loved the bit about Amy's study disproving love at first sight. Because it's in character and we know Sheldon read it and loved it. Just imagine, after they met, Sheldon looks into her work to learn more about her, and the seeds of his affection being planted. Texting each other discussing it. loved their season 3/4 early romance.Ā

I think season 11 was a first of things we didn’t see that we did in almost every other season....

Fun with Flags (since they started it)

Drunk Sheldon

Sheldon with his pants off

I hope we can see a Fwf married version next season, I missed that!

Drunk Sheldon, it is possible to return next season too.

Regards Sheldon with his pants off... I guess Amy has the exclusivity of be the only one who see it now, LOL!

Ha, yes, me too. Ā I loved this little off-scene detail, and Sheldon's line "Ironic, huh?"Ā

Both of them disproved the study with their own feelings, ironic, huh? LOL.

Totally agree.

IMO, this breakthrough in 11X24 was more of Sheldon's breakthrough. Amy inspired him and named it Superasymmetry, but it didn't relate to Amy's study that much. But I love him for giving Amy credit. On the other hand, I'd like to see their joined project in 10X19 have some development.Ā

And, call me greedy, but after all these years, after the crisis in S.7, after he switched to Dark Matter and switched back to String Theory, I really want to see Sheldon have a big success in his career before the series end.Ā

Yes! I LOVE their early romance too, right before they sighed RA.Ā That was a preciousĀ time when Sheldon could 'speak' his affectation for Amy out, like the cats and 5*08's cuddles, I think it's because he couldĀ still lose Amy at that time, but everyting was different after sighing RA, he seemed not trying anymore, which is also why I have said I preferred Shamy 2.0, it's not that I don't like 1.0, just think 1.0 wasĀ used to make the audience happy, however 2.0 makes both audience and Shamy happy(am I overthinking lol).Ā

I am looking forward to 'accelerating' and 'spending the rest of my life showing'Ā

I'm a bit late to the party, but some things I loved about this episode:

- Amy knowing that Sheldon believes time travel is a closed loop and Sheldon's response: "I love you so damn much."

- Of course they would be the couple toĀ get distracted for 45 minutes on their wedding day to do science together, lol.

- Penny putting Amy's mom in her place

- The way Sheldon smiles when he sees his bride walking down the aisle

- AMY'S VOWS OMG. Now we know she fancied him from their first meeting.

- Also the reference to Amy's previous study disproving love at first sight

- Amy's expressions during the whole ceremony and especially during her vows... Reminded me of the "I love you too" when they got back together but even more enthusiastic/in love

- Sheldon not being able to find the right words to express his love to Amy, but still making the sweetest vow to her

- The "I do" exchange

- That kiss was adorable

- I don't know why, but I thought Sheldon's long tail tux was very fitting for some reason

- Them walking out hand in hand. With rings on their fingers. Married.

I'm so excited for them y'all.

She once went evenĀ further than that:-

Ā I find the notion of romantic love to be an unnecessary cultural construct that adds no value to human relationships.

To quote Sheldon:

Ah, youth.

It was amazing how their relationship back then was skewed towards Amy. She didn't seem to care much when they "broke up", she rejected his offer to go to dinner with him, not to mention she was all "slow down Sheldon, I'm not quite there yet" in Herb Garden. It was so obvious how much Sheldon was falling for her each day. Right from heartily enjoying her puns, to describing their coital relationship in graphic detail (loool) to her mother, he seemed to do everything he could in his power to impress Amy. He even took 65% of the blame for that fight (although I always thought Amy was the one who started it). And his "bazinga" after expressing his interest in coitus with her, didn't fool anyone lol. Not to mention the fact that they always called their friendship a "relationship".

*happy sigh* And now...they're married. šŸ˜

I have a quick couple of questions to anyone who watches Young Sheldon.

1. When Sheldon narrated the final part of the last episode was that the first time in Young Sheldon that Amy had been mentioned by Sheldon through narration.

2. Now that they are married will narrator Sheldon bring Amy up again (hopefully by name this time) if he is talking about his parents?Ā Like he may say something about his parents arguing and he may say something else about that in the future he and Amy hardly argue, or something along those lines.

Yes, he has never mentioned Amy before (or any other TBBT character, for that matter), I think the writers did thatĀ on purpose, becauseĀ of theĀ speciaI episode airedĀ on TBBT

It'sĀ possible, IĀ wouldn't ruIe itĀ out, actuaIIy this is a veryĀ clever way to connect the two shows, up to that episode we had just seen things happened in the past (YS) resonate in the present days (TBBT), it was the first timeĀ we got a gIimpse into the future; but, as I said, I think they mentioned Amy just becauseĀ of TBBTĀ finaIe, it was, if you wiII, a further gift to the fandom, so I don't expect them to reference her, or anyĀ of theĀ other TBBT character, veryĀ often

I think he will mention his wife but possibly not by name. I heard from someone what was said last week (I can't stand the show and don't watch it very often myself. I think I've seen it about three times) and expect that to be the template. I do expect to be a lot more connection between the two shows. Young Sheldon is on the ascent and TBBT is nearly done. YS is their cash cow of the future.

Young Sheldon Revealed Something Huge About Sheldon's Future

[...]

Young Sheldon co-creator Steven Molaro told TV Guide about how the children decision was made. There was the opportunity for cross-show synergy by having the revelation come the same night as the wedding that he didn't want to go to waste, of course. But Molaro and co-creator Chuck Lorre have also been thinking about where Sheldon is in his life as he's narrating Young Sheldon. Molaro was talking with Lance Barber — who plays Sheldon's father George Sr. — about how George Sr. seems a lot nicer than we would have thought based on what Sheldon has said about him on The Big Bang Theory, and that got them thinking about how Sheldon having kids of his own would change his perspective on his father.

"I think that some of these stories adult Sheldon is telling us through young Sheldon are reflections on 'now that I have my own children, maybe I'm seeing that world through my Dad's eyes more clearly than I had,'" Molaro says. "Those thoughts had been on my mind for awhile, and I think that's what led to that final line of the season."

It's an idea Molaro has taken from his own life. "I've got two boys," Molaro says, "and I remember being 11 years old and your parents are like these gods to you, and then when my son was 11, my feeling about myself was 'oh no, I don't know what I'm doing! I have no idea what's going on. Is that what my father felt like when I was 11?' It really starts to change your perspective on a lot of things. And I think some of that is what we're seeing on Young Sheldon." (We saw it a little bit during the Big Bang finale, too, when Sheldon said he missed his deceased father and wished he could be there. His attitude is already softening.)

[...]

I quite like that take on dad!Sheldon. The show will probably not last long enough to get there but it's still nice to think about how Sheldon might mature further.

I don't think he can soften it too much considering he was a philanderer and a drunk causing his mother a lot of heartbreak. The picture painted of his father over 11 years of TBBT and the other show are different to the point that it is clearly noticeable, but that could be excused by the fact it hasn't come to that point in his life on the young show.

Without the younger show we would still be getting a lot of disparagingĀ comments about his father on TBBT and IMO you would not have seen that heartfeltĀ moment with Mary at the wedding at all, well not about his dad anyway. Often people have recency bias when it comes to thinking about past events and memory, the stronger picture you remember is the more recent one, so it can't be all good memories on TBBT from now on when Sheldon remembers his dad,

There are some things that child eyes can misinterpretĀ or get the wrong end of the stick so to speak, not George the drunken cheat caught 'in flagrante delicto' with another woman. It's not like George senior fell into another woman and accidentally got stuck and thatĀ led to the younger Sheldon misunderstanding.
