Die Zimtzicke Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 From what I've read they are NOT going to drop Amy and Sheldon working as a couple on his asymmetry project. That is good, isn't it? We'll hopefully have more nerdy science stuff and less relationship drama. I just adore that they are following through on something for once. They had that psychic episode where Sheldon was told he'd commit to Amy and have career success and they are actually doing it. They drop so many story lines that it's a treat to see them pony up for once.

I guess the point of quarrelling was gone at some point as they work together was that they might have realized they could use their energy in better ways as they involved as a work team. In fact the usual nervous feeling that take a couple in their wedding day might have been the catalyst that brought both to the breakthrough. Imo it worked much better and made more sense than they kept quarrelling. It was so Shamy: both in minutes to get married and they were doing Science with a lipstick in a mirror. Surely it was one of my Shamy favourite moments ever! ❤️ Edited June 2, 2018 by spidergirl

They mentioned this link after 11X24 aired, and to my surprise, some of them are just casuals. They watched this episode just because it was Sheldon's wedding. But they remembered the psychic thing and praised the writers for following it through. Some even said that this gave them faith that we might find out who gets tenure before the show ends. LOL. 12 hours ago, joyceraye said: I found it interesting that on their wedding day they were able to work co-operatively without quarrelling. Their discovery that they only came up with worthwhile stuff when they were annoyed with each other looks as though it's gone by the wayside. I guess it was because the Superasymmetry was more of Sheldon's work than Shamy's. Amy was more like an assistant than a partner in the Superasymmetry project, but in that Quantum Cognition Experiment project, Amy had as much effort as Sheldon. And not to mention, there got to be some specific neurobiology knowledge that Sheldon wasn't familiar with, so there had to be some inevitable quarrelling as we saw in 10X19. But, the thing is, I don't think the quarrelling is natrually a bad thing. (Oh, please note that I'm not saying you said that was a bad thing, just I want to discuss this...LOL) I quite enjoy Shamy's banter and quarrelling over the years. Remember the "PS4 or XBOX ONE dinner"? or "I pressed the record button!!!" FWF? or "Theoritical VS Experimental #FORSCIENCE" fight? To me, their quarrelling in 10X19 falls in this same catagory. I love them. 6 hours ago, spidergirl said: I guess the point of quarrelling was gone at some point as they work together was that they might have realized they could use their energy in better ways as they involved as a work team. They both put each other first, that was true love. Yeah, I love this comment. Oh, before I forgot, congratulations, @SpoonMouse, and good luck!!! I'm hoping it's something you see perhaps run over the course of the season, so between 12.1 and 12.24 there will be mentions of it, scenes or episodes based on it rather than say just a three-episode arc. Cautiously optimistic is my stance right now.

Although Sheldon "credited" Amy for the discovery in the wedding episode, it is basically his big breakthrough in theoretical physics and I expect the writers to treat it as such next season.Holland's interviews were in this direction, more than in a "Shamy" direction. Amy wouldn't have the expertise to collaborate with Sheldon in this endeavor, apart for the general idea. I would be much more interested in seeing Shamy working on their "official" joint project for S. 10, but not holding my breath for it, as it was barely mentioned last season. I'm not going that far out on the limb. I heard some people saying Sheldon might get his Nobel, but I don't think so. They'd have to go many years into the future for that and if they have a look at them in the future at the end, I think it will be a short look. I was thinking one day that they do that and if Iain plays Sheldon's son at the end, it would be just the sort of thing that the writers would do. I'd like, if they MUST keep connecting with Young Sheldon (I don't like the show and only watch it occasionally) that they wouldn't be able to pass that up. Personally if it must be done and is unavoidable I'd like to see Sheldon reconnect with his friend Tam and see how Amy gets along with him. I honestly thought before they started pulling in all the other guest stars for the wedding that they might do that.

Die Zimtzicke Posted June 2, 2018 Posted June 2, 2018 I was thinking about how much I'd like to see George again. And it reminded me of how funny Amy was when she met George and Missy. The way she liked George's accent and Sheldon refused to say anything in a Texas accent could have been handled very badly but they managed to make it cute. I too hope for more of George and Missy as it was nice to see Amy being so readily accepted by them. I wasn't a big fan of TBBT's Meemaw and I was glad that she didn't turn up to the wedding, but I do wish we'd have gotten to see YS's Meemaw have a heart to heart with her Moonpie and his fiancee. Hoping for a positive appearance of her on the show as well. A reappearance of Amy's parents would have both great comedic potential as well as the opportunity for more heartfelt scenes. Mr. and Mrs. Fowler were everything I ever imagined them to be and then some, so it would suck if 11x24 was the last ever appearance of them both. Their appearances and interactions with Amy and Sheldon would definitely serve as great insights into their characters, so I hope the writers would tap into this moving forward. And I have a question: Has Narrator Sheldon ever mentioned anything about Tam in YS? Like if they had a falling out of some sort, or if Tam meant a great deal to him? I'm a realtively casual viewer of the show so I can't seem to remember.

I don't like YS and seldom watch it but I could tolerate the occasional phone call from Meemaw to Sheldon or Amy. The casting of Amy's parents WAS much better than I'd hoped and I'd also like to see Tam show up. If they have to connect the two shows, and it seems like they feel they do, that would be one of the better ways to do it.

Adult Sheldon never mentioned Tam at all and basically implied he had no friends as a child. It's one of the things I dislike about YS. They change a lot of what has been an established part of TBBT. But I could tolerate Tam if there has to be a connection between the two shows. The ep where he made friends with Tam was one of the few eps I watched part of and I liked how that was done, although it was difficult for me to reconcile with what adult Sheldon had said on the other show. I'm surprised she made the comment about having a baby, though, since it seems clear to me that no one running the show wants to deal with any more babies. I mean, I know Sheldon and Amy were talking about babies before they even went on their first date, and Lenny have mentioned babies, too, but I don't think anyone is going to have a baby anytime soon. At least I hope not. Two invisible babies are enough. I'm interested in how the science aspect will go since the showrunners have made mention of continuing that with Amy and Sheldon. I'm not sure how far they can go with a theory about science.
