As much as I'm looking forward to Amy's  " yes " and seeing Sheldon put that ring on her finger I'm equally looking forward to seeing a very VERY passionate kiss that ( hopefully ) follows!!

Such meaninful shamy moment has to be sealed with a passionate kiss! ❤

Btw, I think you would hear my fangirl's celebrations  from here, hehe!

Writers, you know you want to them kissing passionately. A premiere always needs lots of emotion!

I have just rewatched The veracity Elasticity on tv. It gets even better everytime I watch it. The donkey 's scene is outstanding. It was such an excelent screenplay which  allowed shamy getting  into one of most important steps they  took as couple and also one of most meaningful Sheldon's decision as he really grew up for last seasons. Love it!

I don't have a popular point of view on this but I am okay with not meeting or knowing anything about her family. I suppose when Shamy do get married her mom should be there but honestly other then that I wouldn't care one way or the other. I was not a fan of having all those guest stars for the Lenny wedding. I thought a lot got lost in having so many people around. I sincerely hope that when wedding day comes it is focused on Shamy. I much prefer to see the funny and touching scenes that happen the day of between the main cast. I would love to see the girls prepping Amy and the guys calming down Sheldon for one reason or the other. I want to see more of the vows and some after wedding bliss. I don't want what the Lenny's got. I loved Howardette's wedding. I thought that was well done. It was cute, romantic and funny!

I would like to see Amy and Sheldon calling his and her mom via skype to announce thier engagement. That could be fun.

I think it could be cute if Raj and Howard walked Amy down the isle...they started Sheldon and Amy on this journey. Could be cute if they finished it.

Just my own two cents...

I also hope Sham wedding is not crowded with guest stars or, at least, those guest stars don't steal the limelight from them. I guess Mary and Constance will be there, as well as Amy's mother and, if she has a living father still in the picture, her dad. I hope no one else shows up, like Sheldon's siblings or the countless aunts Amy has. I would love the same vibe as Howardette's wedding, rather than Lenny's redo. The main difference between the two ceremonies, anyway, was that some characters were introduced for the first time in 10x01, and obviously they needed some focus. That's why I think, in order to avoid that, there should be a previous episode where the dynamics between Amy's parents\mother (depending on whether her father is in the picture)  and Shamy are shown in full. If that happens during the wedding, it inevitably will take time and focus away from that. It could be interesting if, as you suggests, it happens during a Skype call where Shamy announce their engagement. In any event, when Amy's mom appears again on screen, I would be very disappointed if we don't get some additional infos about her dad too, it drives me crazy that I don't know if she has a living father or not, knowing the answer to this question would influence the way I look at the character.

As for who has to walk Amy down the isle, I'm not really convinced it should be Raj and/or Howard. In general, if a father is not around, the person having this task has a deep connection with the bride, and actually that's not the case. Howard and Raj (and a dirty sock) are for sure the persons to be thanked for Shamy in the first place, but I don't see any of them as really invested in them. If they go for a traditional wedding (which, knowing them, it's not really a sure thing), I would prefer Amy's mother walking her down the isle, if there's no father around.

Could be fun if Mary Cooper and Amy's mom met for a meeting and dinner with Shamy...seems they might have much in common?

I don't think anyone's saying "I want what Lenny got", I surely wasn't in my post. In fact what I want is exactly more along the lines of what Howardette got.

Now, at the time of their wedding Howardette haven't been a couple for that long and part of the story was that their wedding was rushed - so no time to spend that much on their families. But let's not forget that Howard and Bernadette still got to meet each other's families before they got married. Howard's mother was such a big part of the show that it was inevitable that Bernie would learn how to deal with her. And Bernadette's dad was also introduced in person before the wedding, and has since been seen and mentioned plenty of times. Her mother equally has been mentioned and was introduced to the audience after their wedding (though I think she was there at the wedding as well even though we didn't get to see her other than a glimpse when the satellite made the photo from above).

So I don't want the Lenny variant where they shove all sorts of family members into the wedding episode - I'd rather want some organic stories before their wedding where we get to know more about Amy's family background and maybe even meet her mother again. Mary and Amy's mom meeting could be really funny if they find a good hook (one that's different from Mary and Beverly meeting).

What kinda irks me is that Shamy have been a couple for so long now and save for some anecdotes of Amy's hilariously terrible upbringing they haven't really made much use of her background. It is said that she and her mom are not that close so I guess it's somewhat understandable but I still would find that an interesting storyline for at least an episode or two. It's not like they'll get married right away in 11x01 so there are enough opportunities to dedicate at least one episode's subplot to this. That isn't too much to ask, is it?

3. Question for you...why would that influence your perspective of Amy?

Well,  it would give me some perspective about her childhood. Why was her mother so protective of her? Was it because she was left alone after Amy was born and her father abandoned them, or was it because she was a widow who had to take care of a baby by herself and felt overwhelmed by everything? Plus, some of the anecdotes Amy told are pretty creepy and her mother's behavior is borderline abusive. Was there a father around counterbalancing all of that? I know it's more or less cheap psychology, but the way all the characters are is deeply influenced by their parents, and the writers have investigated all of that in the show. I don't understand why Amy should be any different. This is a pet-peeve of mine, I simply can't accept that we don't know those basic information about a main character. FFS, we know that Stuart's parents are both alive, I can't believe this basic piece of info is missing with Amy!

Oh, no. I didn't think that. I am sorry if it came across that way...I was just replying to what I would want for the bare minimum of Amy's family. Just her mom would be my answer. If they had her mom for a two episodes that would be fun. I would like that. An announcement of engagement would be expected, Skpe perhaps? Meeting Mary Cooper. Perhaps the core group of friends has a celebration party and invites them both? I loved Sheldon cooking...perhaps mom's are invited for Dinner and Sheldon cooks? Could Amy change status on her Facebook before she tells her mom and she gets a visit from her? Naw...that last one sounds too Bridget Jones.

I honestly have never given thought to Amy's family or background. I may be reading too many fan fictions and have filled in gaps that way...lol. I guess if they were mentioned a little more I would have more questions...

I want to see her mum on the show, that would be enough for me in terms of family and I think that should be the minimum. Though of course I would be interested in learning more about her father, is he alive or dead, with her mother still or separated? But it's not for me super essential that I learn about that.

Could be an opportunity if it is true that mother and daughter aren't that close to do a storyline with the impending nuptials perhaps bringing them closer together? I'm all in favor of Amy getting a storyline that provides perhaps a little bit of drama but then has a nice heartwarming conclusion to it. Sheldon could play a nice supportive role to his fiancee.

I agree with @April and @mirs1 that I don't want families to dominate the wedding storyline, so to perhaps get the family stuff out of the way before the wedding seems to me to be the best way forward. I think a wedding buildup period could achieve that.

I totally agree...I wouldn't want families to dominate the wedding storyline either.

I have said all along I don't want a lot of time spent on Amy's family. I think we have to have some time with her mom during the wedding planning, but I don't want a lot of time spent on her family. I was too disappointed by the 2nd Lenny wedding. I still think Penny's brother was totally miscast and they went for a lot of cheap drinking and hillbilly jokes, which seemed out of place for Nebraskans, instead of paying attention to the wedding. But I can see them having a shower for Amy, where the aunts, etc. are there, and Amy is pointing them out to Penny and Bernie and telling funny stories about them. Maybe that would cover it. Then at the actually wedding they can just be in the seats.

Incidentally I am so happy for Mayim that she was chosen for this STEM program.
