Jonny Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Another thing I will say that I took from the episode is I think that might be it in terms of a storyline involving wedding planning. I think we will get references to it during the season but as a storyline I think it's pretty much done. Some of course might be happy with that lol. Personally I'm fine with wedding planning taking the back seat for now. An update every once in a while is more than enough for me. Lol Professional woman today tend to keep their maiden name, although most of the doctors I work with have hyphenated their name when they married. I have to disclose that I am in Texas which tends to be a little old fashioned on these sort of things. My vote is for Dr. Amy Fowler Cooper, I just love the thought of Dr. And Dr. Cooper! Having dinner tonight with the Coopers.... love, love and love 2 hours ago, Jonny said: Another thing I will say that I took from the episode is I think that might be it in terms of a storyline involving wedding planning. I am ok with a little wedding planning in the stories. Not sure I would want many more entire episodes devoted to it. I loved when he was sleeping and he said that he was up for anything as long as it was with her. This made me smile!

It might be different if Amy and Sheldon were working in different places as well. Beverly was married before she was publishing and her husband was in a different field. She also had small children and it's simpler when the children and both parents have the same name. When professional women marry after they have obtained qualifications and publications it's more usual for them to keep the name they were known by for work. Even as members of the public, let alone professional colleagues, if we go for an appointment and look on the wall where the diplomas are displayed we expect to find the name of the person who's seeing us. I think back in the days women had more pressure on them to take the husband's name. It's not that long ago ! I was at work then. LOL. Women whose work was established kept their 'Miss' title and their maiden name, just as film stars did. Outside work they more than likely used their 'Mrs' plus husband's surname. Teachers changed their name unless the new name was difficult to pronounce. 8 hours ago, Capt. Hilts said: Edited October 10, 2017 by joyceraye BLOODY MERGERS ! Removed post. will re-post later. spidergirl Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 (edited) After the usual double rewatch at episode day's evening, a few more thoughts that I would like to share with you. My apologies if they had been mentioned before; * The day after Flag day as it could not be seen as a potencial Wedding date because everyone would be partied out cracked me up, lol! So Sheldon- esque! * Sassy Amy remark about the yellow dinossaur cake was priceless, LOL! * Smooth jazz and those pjs in same dream , I would say that side of Shedon was that naughty one he confessed to Amy he had in second half of s10, hehe! Her delightfull face was precious! <3 * I loved Sheldon made it clear that was the calendar that was making him miserable, not the wedding. Yep, the man is so ready , no doubts for who could be asking, hehe! * Amy in neurobiologist mode as she studied Sheldon's sleep talk was great! I have always wondered if she would make some experiences about the habit of Sheldon speaking as he sleeps, LOL! She loves Sheldon the way he is and surely his brain has always fascinated her in many ways, hehe! * The adventure of Sheldon with the flip flops was priceless! Poor guy, we cant say he did not try to loosen up a bit, lol! * Amy is in charge of the wedding plans now but I feel it might not be just like that. As I said earlier she is a wise lady, I see this subject be brought up again and we could see both are organizing their wedding together 50/50. As a team as always shamy is about everything related with each other. * The tag scene was so funny! Laid back Sheldon council was so spot on about how many Sheldon's exist on Sheldon's personality, lol! My favourite was flip flop Sheldon for obvious reasons, lol! On June 15 in a cliff at sunset or not, this wedding is going to be great indeed! I'm just not having an easy time expressing myself today. Edited October 10, 2017 by Die Zimtzicke

And apparently not just on the couch. From The Mommy Observation:- Mrs Cooper: Oh, Shelly, I’m so sorry. Come in. Um, maybe we should sit down and talk about this. Sheldon: Can you recommend a surface you haven’t had coitus on? Mrs Cooper: That’s not funny. Maybe we should sit at the table. Perhaps she confessed it in church. It's forbidden regardless. That's what annoyed Sheldon. I suspect it's one of the most widely-disobeyed rules. Mary's not R.C. so she doesn't have to confess it. However, she did say she believed when a man and woman 'lay together' they were 'married in the eyes of The Lord' so she's got a cop-out there. Were it true of course, she wouldn't be free for Leonard's father. It's called hypocrisy. Mary seems to make up her own religion as she goes along. Carm6773 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 6/15/2018 is on a Friday. If they want to get married on 6/15 that is a Saturday, they have to wait until 2019. Don't see that happening. For purely selfish reasons, I would *love* for them to get married on 6/7, but it's on a Thursday in 2018 and Friday in 2019. For 2018, the Saturdays in June are: 6/2, 6/9, 6/16, 6/23, and 6/30. A lot of people now get married on Friday evenings because it is way less expensive than a Saturday evening wedding...especially in June which is a prime wedding month. Stephen Hawking Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 Do we really think they'll gt married in an "official" place, like a church or City Hall, or (do they have these in America?) a Registry Office?

No to Registry Offices. You don't need to get married in an "official place" you can get married anywhere as long as you have filed the appropriate paperwork and have a licensed or ordained officiant performing the ceremony.
