Fun fact, I live very close to Pendle Hill, home to the famous Pendle Witches and the witch trials of 1612. It's one of the most famous haunted places in the UK :)

I just love Shamy in that mix of costumes, LOL!

Btw, Happy taping day and happy Halloween, shamies! Hope some Shamy goodness may be in its wat! :)

And a Shamy kiss would be very welcome too! I love the vibes Shamy kisses hold to the fans: honesty, sweetness and a very own hotness

He's joking. It's a Charlie Brown reference.

The photo is from the upcoming episode where Sheldon is doing some geology project with Bert.

Sorry, I couldn't resist the joke!

The real episode title is "The Geology Methodology".

Thanks. I've never in my life even seen a pumpkin, so I know nothing about references to them apart from Cinderella. If Bert gave Sheldon the rock I expect he thought he was treating him. :) I expect Sheldon would prefer the kind that was long and pink with 'BLACKPOOL' written through it.

You also said the other day you've never seen a chicken picking for food. Where in the world are you living?? I thought you were from the UK. I'm pretty certain they have chickens and pumpkins there.

I live in England now. I've only ever lived in The Midlands or in North Wales. Pumpkins aren't a typical crop and I've never seen any growing or sold in a shop. I daresay some specialist shops import them, or possibly some growers raise them under tunnels or in greenhouses somewhere. Almost everything can be grown under artificial conditions these days if market forces make it worthwhile. I wouldn't begin to know how to cook one if somebody gave me one.

They have chickens here but I've never needed to feed any. What a sheltered life I must have led. :)

What matters is you are happy, aren't you? :)

Besides we can not know  about everything or do everything, for most usual some things are for most of people. For example, I have traveled more abroad than inside of my country. Which is a big failure from my own because my country has really beautiful lands that I had not seen yet. I have been trying to fix it but money doesnt allow always we could afford the things we wished for. Slowly I will get there.;)

I grew up in a little village where everyone had their own food growing in their garden and kept animals and such so I guess that's probably why I'm more familiar with this stuff.

But yeah, pumpkins are not that exotic in terms of climate. My grandparents used to grow them on their compost - accidentally I might add. My grandma made pumpkin soup and threw the seeds out and not long until the garden was full with pumpkin vines and they had a gazillion pumpkins. lol

I might try that then and see what happens. Birds ate my raspberries, gooseberries and strawberries. Foxes weed on my rhubarb.  My apples and blackberries are all right. I could find out what sort of pests are attracted by pumpkins. I'll try and remember seeds on my next grocery order.

OK, to explain my attempt at a joke:  in America where the "Peanuts" comic strip has been popular for going on 70 years we've had a number of popular cartoons staring Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and the rest of the gang.  One of the earliest was "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!" which has been broadcast annually since 1966 and is a tradition in the United States -- I daresay the vast majority of us here grew up seeing it at least once.   In it there's a running gag with Charlie Brown going trick-or-treating with the other children, and while they receive candy or other treats, all he gets at each house is a rock.  The joke goes something like:  "I got a candy bar!" "I got a lollipop!" "I got a rock." (The humor is in the delivery). The joke, in essence, is that Charlie's luckless existence extends even to his Halloween treats.  Anyway, that's why the picture of Sheldon staring at the stone on his coffee table coupled with the "I got a rock" line is supposed to be humorous.

I'm not sure how arcane American Halloween traditions are to our cousins in the UK, but I can definitely recommend "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!".

Thank you, GnuHopper. I didn't know any of that. It's tedious having to explain jokes, so I appreciate it. I've had a good laugh at the picture now I understand it.

I think Sheldon and Charlie would both have rather had some rock that they could eat for their treat. Here it's very popular at tourist resorts, especially seaside ones. The classic one is pink, cylindrical, very hard, white on the inside with the name of the place in red all the way through.

and Amy could have used her laptop stringed instrument and sung this to cheer Sheldon up :
