Liked the episode very much, it was  a very funny one! Shamy were being Shamy, obviously they didn't do the right thing in testing their friends, but I liked their interactions during the episode, they were adorkable as usual together. I also like how the whole group seems in some sense excited for their wedding and involved in it. There were several highlights for the episode to me: Shamy bed scene (I know Sheldon's words weren't that encouraging, but I loved the intimacy they have reached and I found the whole thing funny), Sheldon yelling at Howard "Bernie isn't a prize either!" when he was testing him about helping him with "cold feet", Shamy hug (I want to know Sheldon's secrets!!!) and Pamy hug. I'm so happy it's official canon that Pamy are besties!!!

Me too! Shamy were being Shamy, I would not expect other thing. If they started to act differently, then I would be worry because it would be ooc. They were adorkable as usually together indeed. I loved their interactions in car, on bed, every scene was really that Shamy I fel in love since the moment they met. Always in sync  with that excelent improvement touch they got after they reunited and started to live together. It is really a pleasure to keep watching them keep growing as individuals and as couple episode after episode!

Anyway, what I most loved about this episode was although Shamy methods for choosing her MOH/his BM were not the best they should use, it can be felt that group of friends are true friends, no matter their flaws/quirks, you know. I think it was the main message from this episode. You dont need to say to your friends you love them all the time or you dont need to say it at all as it is in every action you do, even those some could interpret as not so good, you know. Definitely this episode will be in my favs from this season.

BTW, the Pamy moment was the highlight from the episode. It was funny and sweet. I really loved to see Penny cares as  friend for Amy as much as Amy cares for Penny. We all knew it in some way but it was wonderful to witness it on screen :)

PS: that evil laugh from Sheldon? I loved it so much! I hope he can use it again in other context, course! :icon_cheesygrin:

Awww! That was the pic I was talking about a couple of days ago, I couldn't wait for the official source to be available!

I've also watched the promo for the next episode and it looks like Sheldon is searching for a new subject of interest in Physics. Well, it looked like dark matter was not "the one" (as Penny put it), Sheldon was not into it as he used to be into string theory. Since "officially" studying that, he was wondering from one subject to another, working with Leonard on superfluids and then with him and Howard on the military project, Amy (not that I complain about that, on the contrary I'm disappointed the subject hasn't come up yet), even with Bert on geology, he did all but focusing on dark matter!   I'm very curious about the outcome, I hope Sheldon is as lucky in his "Physics" soul mate as he has been with his lifetime soul mate!

I thought it was a fun episode, again the old school vibe of the season continues with them experimenting on their friends again.

It was obvious that a) Leonard and Penny are the obvious choices so whether it was through data or how they feel they were always going to be the logical picks and b- that their friends would find out about the experimenting and not be happy about it just like in the past.

I think this episode proved yet again that even though its in character that Shamy would use Science or experiments to make choices in their lives this is one thing that can't really be achieved by the method they chose. Sometimes you have to go with what your head or even your heart tells you is the right choice or decision.

Highlight of the episode? For me it was the Penny epiphany and Amy's reaction, it had shades of Shiny Trinket and the Tiara :)

The thing is, they didn't even implement their method well. Their experiment was not valid as many of their measurements did not measure what they were trying to measure. Leonard's reaction to Sheldon's ride requent, for instance, was due to him not running to do every weird thing Sheldon asks him to do, that is actually good for the wedding preperations... The "catering crisis" - Leonard and Penny just didn't care about the rice, they would have done something if it were a real wedding catering crisis.

Well, Leonard used the fact he solved the brain teaser as a "proof" he was the right person for the role, LOL! I agree that some choices can't be based on science, and I hope Shamy learnt a lesson, even if I doubt..is that the third time they experiment over their friends? Anyway, I think the writers have done a good job so far in telling stories about Shamy preparations from this "pseudo-scientific" PoV, Shamy are quirky and their wedding reflect their personalities in that!

It was done for comedy purposes, even I think some of the experiments they did weren't exactly good methods of identifying the best qualities required for a best man or maid of honor.

It reminds me of that time when Sheldon used a dice roll system to carry out his daily routines and choices and the impact it had on that. It's done of course for comedy purposes and it's also very in character and believable that Shamy would try to use science to solve a problem even if it goes wrong or produces unexpected or murky results.

I found it very funny even though the end result I could see coming a mile off and the problems their experiments would cause.

At the end of the day which is funnier:

1. Sheldon asking Leonard and Amy asking Penny and that's all she wrote.

2. Or Shamy doing experiments on them all with it throwing up some unusual results, the gang finding out about it then a heartfelt moment makes the choices it should have been in the first place.

I'm going with option 2 every time.

I thought the episode was delightful and fun!  <3

Everyone was not only in character but also a good sport about the whole thing. Like, I feel there wasn't really any mean-spiritedness involved here (that we've so often been so frustrated about). Even Shamy's reasons to run the tests (however ill-fitting they may have been) were understandable and sweet, and I loved how the gang in general was so willing to step up no matter what weird thing Shamy came up with and that it showed how everyone has their qualities that made them a viable candidate. As much as Leonard and Penny are the obvious choices I think the gang is close enough that Shamy wondering if they should give the job to someone else is justified.

All in all there are too many cute scenes between the two to list them all but naturally I found Shamy's interactions in this adorable and funny.

Can the writing stay this good-natured for a while, pls???

Yeah I found the tone quite nice considering the storyline. They could have easily descended into some nasty barbs or whatever towards each other but they managed to keep it light and the comedy was there throughout.

I forgot to add I really liked that scene when Sheldon was explaining himself at the cafeteria about why they are having such a hard time choosing between their friends and why they did what they did. Also he called all three of them his friends! Remember the days when Howard or was it Raj (can't remember lol it was years ago)? was considered an acquaintance or something like that?

I found it hard to believe that Sheldon thought they were all so close to him that he couldn't choose. For years he has deemed Howard an acquaintance, they have become closer but not that much. Raj he hangs out with sometimes but he is not nearly as close to him as Leonard.

I know that and it's not like I'm saying they shouldn't have done that, just mentioning that IRL scientists would know this isn't a good experiment.

I liked that moment and acknowledgement at the cafeteria, knowing the show he will probably call him an acquaintance again sometime down the line but I thought it was a nice moment then.

I don't think anyone would, wedding planning is especially about picking things you want or desire and involving people you want or feel should be involved. But this is Shamy and they can get away with stuff like that because it's very in character for them as a couple. And for all they went through and carried out it came to the same conclusion their heads were probably deep down telling them.

Loved it !!! You guys @Jonny @mirs1 @spidergirl & @April have worded it so well that I'm just going to say I agree with you all *hugs* .

I'm really enjoying this new tbbt lease of life from episode 9 onwards......phew !!! P.s eps 1-3 I enjoyed too but 4-8 had me a little worried at one point - feels good to have light hearted & fun episodes, Sheldon's smirk after he kisses Amy & thermostat giggle I adored!!! Lol

Couldn't agree more, episodes 4-8 were very worrisome also for me, especially in relation to Sheldon, I didn't like how he behaved at all.  Anyway, I was thinking...from the promo it looks like he doesn't like Dark Matter as a topic and he's thinking about finding something else. Maybe that might be an explanation for all the work-related plot for him at the beginning of the season, all of which with had this vibe in it of Sheldon being dissatisfied with what he was doing. Maybe there was a plan, after all! I'm very curious for the outcome...

If it was all about that plan I would be glad as some of Sheldon's actions would sound less bad as stress related with work may involve too much a person within, I speak from experience. Although tbh I feel it was more like writers and showrunner found their track as they got more in sync with show past dynamic. Let see what could come up from it in upcoming episodes.

Anyway I am also very curious about the potencial change of subject again for Sheldon. I think two changes would be too much as it may get into the risk of Sheldon getting into something very different from he was in  beginning of the show. Personally I think Dark Matter might be the ideal subject for Sheldon as it is a very challenging field in Physics. But as long as it makes our Sheldon happy, I am in! :)

Yeah, it's not very realistic to make such huge jumps during such a brief career, Sheldon is not even 40 after all. I'm also curious to see where this is going...Anyway, IMO, Dark Matter has never had such an appeal to Sheldon as string theory. That was his obsession, he really believed he could do something significative in that field and was crushed when he realized it was not the case. Let's see what he picks next...and if he indeed picks something different, it sometimes happens that  what is supposed to be a re-bound relationship becomes "the one", not very frequently, but it happens, LOL!

Coming by to say I really enjoyed Shamy in this episode. Though tbh Pamy stole the show and I think we all agree on that :icon_cheesygrin:. I'd love for us to see Halley as a flower girl though that will most likely not happen...Anyway, I hope the wedding will happen in this season and they won't make us wait until the next though they'd better have Amy's dad in the show somehow, even if we don't get to see the entire circus.

I've said this before...unless they drag the wedding out for the show's finale, she's too young. A one year old won't make a good flower girl. She probably just started to walk. My four kids walked at around a year, a year, nine months and fourteen months. They don't start working out well as flower girls USUALLY until they are at least four or five.

What does a flower girl do if she gets it right ? Serious question this time.

Do you think with a Star Trek uniform under Sheldon's tuxedo, Amy in Sarah Jane's Pyramids of Mars dress, Wil Wheaton wearing goodness-knows-what, baby Mikey screaming his head off or Bernie breast feeding  to keep him quiet, Amy's cousins in frock coats as she arrives in a Little House on the Prairie buggy, anybody is going to care tuppence if Halley acts unconventionally ?

My ring bearer and flower girl were 5-6 when I got married almost 16 years ago; they were adorable!  Despite her age, I seriously believe that Halley should be the flower girl.  She could be in a decorated wagon and scatter the petals as someone (Raj?) pulls the wagon down the aisle.

Sheldon has a nephew, correct?  He could be the ring bearer.

What's everyone's gut feeling for when its going to happen? Season finale is still my guess though they could easily drag it out until next season.

I think it will happen in season finale too but you are right, it could be easily drag out until next season. Depends if there might be that short S13 I have read around.
