On the other hand, since Penny used a "break up" analogy to explain his feelings towards his work dilemmas, the only break up Sheldon experienced for real ended up with him and his lady back together, so...it makes sense! In the DT it's also said Sheldon rented his old room to be considerate to Amy. This also makes sense, it's for sure a better solution that kicking her out of the apartment (however gently) when he needs time to focus, LOL! I need to watch it, but I'm kind of loving everything about this current story arc.
mirs1
The sneak peeks for 11.13 are funny too, happy to see Leonard and Amy getting along so well, they seem to have fun together and I like when that "goofy\nerdy" side of Amy's personality shows up. Having been a spelling bee champion sounds so much like her!

I was hoping for something more impressive to come out of Sheldon's work struggles but I guess going back to string theory is as good a start as any. I love that he's doing this to be more considerate of Amy. Makes part of me hope that one possible future story arc is about them finding a bigger place for themselves cause clearly they need more space. I guess I'm used to the sets as they have been for 11 years now and, as Sheldon, I don't handle well changes. I'm not sure it would feel like TBBT to me if they moved out of their apartment complex. It's also true, anyway, that it's getting really unbelievable at this point that a couple with the kind of income and sentimental stability Shamy have (the same thing goes for Lenny, of course, but that's beyond the scope of this thread) still live in a little apartment, with borrowed furniture and a broken elevator. Let's see if and how that would change in time...

I've said plenty of times I'd like the show to end with them moving out of the building as a nice bookend to Penny moving in. So when they know "this is the final season" be it S12 or S13 or whatever they could have this as a story arc for a while and I think it could be fun and sweet precisely because Sheldon is terrible with changes and probably would be ridiculously picky about the places they'd check out, I mean, personally I'm not even half as picky as Sheldon and it took us like 5 years to find the place we're living now. lol So it could reasonably take a while and they wouldn't have to change the sets any time soon. Jonny
Will have to see if it actually goes anywhere and I am kind of surprised the University would allow him to switch back though maybe this is one of those times when sitcom reality and real life reality differ lol. It's true he hasn't really deep down been happy with his job since his meltdown around the end of Season 7 (well that's the impression I got) but I am surprised he went back to String Theory considering again the problems of not much development in that branch of science could crop up again and weigh heavy on him as he tries to find something largely unproven. But this is a retro season, Sheldon going back to String Theory makes sense and if he's happy I'm happy, Happy to hear that the main motivation for renting the room was so he could be considerate to Amy and it makes perfect sense considering the room is not currently in use either as a nursery or a gaming room. I would much rather see Sheldon use that room for when he wants to do some time intensive work and then he can spend time with Amy in 4B doing fun or couple stuff together. Whilst I welcome both developments I have got to wonder about the wasted potential that is their project and why the writers still haven't explored it more. Especially when Sheldon earlier in the season was considering and had done work in some of the other avenues of Science. But maybe we made a bigger deal of them working together (on the wishlist of many a Shamy for some years) and it was never going to go anywhere which is a shame in my view. 5 hours ago, Sah said: Could also be a nice place for Amy to work in if she ever needs to really focus on her work without Sheldon driving her crazy. I think it will be fine. I am surprised that Leonard is not using it as an office for writing his book. I guess that he does have the living room desk though...no worries here. Shamy are in a great place! I think Sheldon really enjoys living and sharing the apartment with Amy. I don't think he will pine for it again either. I would be shocked if he did. I'm still expecting the much heralded 'conception of the smart and beautiful babies' lol at some point probably towards the end of this season/early next season so Sheldon may not get to rent that room that long. On the second point I agree, I think he enjoys it and loves it Edited January 10, 2018 by Jonny

joyceraye
I have this fantasy that Shamy will come into some money and buy a house big enough to include a little 'guest apartment ' which will be a mock-up of 4B,their first love nest. We'll know they use it themselves when they want to be romantic and it will give those of us who're attached to it the chance to see the set frequiently. The main room downstairs that they use for entertaining is a copy of the set of 4A. Leonard and Penny buy a house nearby.

I think at least Sheldon has accumulated a lot of money but doesn’t (want to?) spend it yet. As a compromise and to be true to the set, Shamy could move to 3A or 5A to have an extra room (or build a dream for themselves on the rooftop, with a glass roof from where you can see the stars, my personal favourite ). Regarding the baby discussion I would love to have them consider it before they make one in their own way. I’d love to see Shamy as a modern family where Amy can continue her work full time and Sheldon takes equal responsibility, maybe with a nanny also, however queer that will turn with our two I’d love to see them have a long honeymoon on Hawaii, in Japan and Europe. It might never show on TV, but it will be stories for our hearts and dreams 😊

spidergirl
Hi, Samies fellows! Just coming by quickly ( late for work, lol) to say two things: *I loved the episode. It was funny and lighthearted and it is surely one of my favourite from this season. I laughed a lot and our Shamy is really in a great place. I am so happy how Amy shows she understands so well Sheldon and how she did not loose her adorable quirky side. Also so glad for it was always String Theory after all! * Congrats to our Mayim, so happy she won! Amy is so precious performed by her. And it was a night of gifts for Shamy shippers: that Majim hug, omg... so melted here! Our Shamy is awesome!! <

mirs1
I really liked the episode, I laughed much more than I have ever done this season, it was lighthearted, it had a lot of science in it, all characters had strong plots. Specifically to this thread, I think Lamy were very cute, they seemed really to enjoy recreating their high school projects. Amy was her goofy self for the most part of the episode, but she was also there for Sheldon, and listened to his work related problems, encouraging him to find what he really likes. I particularly liked how Amy asked Leonard for "advise" in regards to how life changes after marriage, and the reasons why she asked him. She said she feels to be in a very good place with Sheldon and also that she understands his needs to focus on his work, especially if he is in a not very positive period. Sheldon seems to be back on track, thanks to his buddy Penny...I can't wait for the next episode, to see how this whole act unfolds for him! April
I don't get the issue with the idea of Sheldon kicking Amy out either. I'm not even sure why it was phrased as such cause clearly Amy encouraged Sheldon to get back on track with his work and supported him having some alone time so...??? No harm done, as far as I can see. And yeah, Amy and Leonard were a lot of fun together - please more of that! <3 4 minutes ago, veejay said: Hm, is it a bit creepy or just hilarious?
