I was kind of surprised when I read about this interview in my local paper. Kaley is quite critical of herself in the early seasons of TBBT.

oh I agree, all you have to do is watch the original pilot, that show was too dark, Kaley livened up the whole show.

I would not say it was just Kaley. You can also credit the more lighthearted writing for the success of the second pilot.

I guess if Kaley gets up to ranking then once the show is over she can take part in worldwide tournaments.

DJ, trust me, actors are more critical about themselves than most others.   Sometimes, when I'm in a show, I wonder what I'm doing there among the other, what I consider, much superior actors.  We really are a quite insecure bunch.

I agree; however, Kaley was really the only recognisable actor on the new series. I think recognizing a face makes a difference on TV.

Moving some of the unsavoury aspects of the original female lead over to Howard probably helped too. Helped keep Penny likeable. Simon pulled off his role very well too.

I guess it all depends on what a person has watched before. I recognised Kaley because I had watched 8 Simple Rules. It would have been in syndication when I watched it. Very few shows get that much attention from me that I make the effort to watch first run. I was not really so much into that show but it seemed okay if my kids happened to see it. I recognized Kaley instantly the first time I saw TBBT. I had already moved into the physics department in 2005 so this new show starting in 2007 had lots of appeal to me. 

In the 90's we had no cable and watched mostly children programming. I may have watched a few episodes of Roseanne but I have no recollections really. I did sort of recognise Sara Gilbert but not Johnny.

Well isn't it true that finding something "interesting" about someone is not the same thing as getting a thrill out of their misery or misfortune? 

I say Johnny was the most recognizable when show started. 

I would agree since he was on a number one show that did reach over 30 million an episode.  But like Djsurrey said it also has to do with what someone watched.

For me it was Johnny and Kaley equally. I watched Johnny on Rosanne and Kaley on 8SR's and Charmed. I noticed Jim on Judging Amy, but it was just a few episodes. Never heard of the rest of the cast. Now Mayim's a different story. I watched Mayim on Blossom, but I saw her on a couple other shows like Webster too.

Because it won't be announced on Television.  The divorce was announced on the internet, a week and a half ago.  Not to mention, she put a picture of her seating place card, for this past weekends equestrian competition gala, on Instagram without "Sweeting" on it.  I'd say it's been announced quite throughly already.   It's more interesting to see when it occurs as far as the production cycle of the show. 

As for the explanation, it simply means that someone can find something interesting, without enjoying someone's misery or misfortune.  I, among others, are fascinated by the Titanic or the US Civil War.  Doesn't mean we like the stories of misery or misfortune that occurred during those events.

Yes it will be announced on television. That was the whole point. Kaley Couco or Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting.

For some reason one person said it would be interesting to see when it would change to just Kaley Cuoco.

I forgot about Kaley in Charmed.  She played a not nice person.  Sexy though..

I never do either. Only reason I noticed it had changed to Cuoco-Sweeting is because she had IG'd about it
