 Since he is reportedly with Kim Kardashian, I think they are just friends period.

Sounds as if Kaley is going through an emotional rough patch again.  A few post about getting cheered up( Bri brought her flowers, a comment about not surviving without Dumps, a friend giving her shoes that made her smile, a quote about better days being ahead).  Also appears she may  have hurt her neck, based on a comment she posted. 

With her friends helping, she’ll get through it.

Well, she has more free time now that TFA Season 2 has completed filming. Don't know about Johnny,  hopefully she spends a lot of time with family and friends.

I noticed that, too, I guess while she was working and hanging with her fellow actors and crew she was able to keep her mind occupied, however, now she may have too much time to think on her hands.  I notice she is hanging around her animals a lot more, some of that is probably because she now has more time, but part of it could be because that they supply her love and comfort, just a thought.

Agreed,  her pets supply pure love unconditionally.

On one of Kaley's post yesterday she showed getting instruction on firing a weapon for practice on her next project. Wonder what that could be? Her next project I think would be the Doris Day biopic?

I saw that too and had to watch it twice to understand that she was going through handgun training.  Hopefully she is getting John Wick gun training  and not Alex Baldwin level training.

From her IG posts, she appeared to be down over the last few days.  Now, she looks like she's feeling better.  She was out with her sister on Thursday night, did some horse riding, and also some more weapons training.  

And, to answer SRAM, from what I saw, while not quite  John Wick level weapons training, it looks like she was getting well and safely trained.

It's good to hear that it appears that she's starting to feel better. Horseback riding is therapy for her.

That is some serious handgun training she is getting, based on what I saw on Instagram, I wonder if it is for some part in a show or if it is for personal protection, when she is alone at home.

She mentioned it's for her next project.  I would assume (bad idea sometimes, I know), that she wants to look, at the very minimum competent, if not downright realistic, in the upcoming role.

Yes it does look like she is feeling more like herself. She did say the weapons training was for her next project. I wonder what that could be? But didn't she handle a pistol in the last episode of The Flight Attendant when she shot Buckley? I guess this may be more intense.

In addition to her weapons training, it appears Kaley is getting some what appears to be fight choreography.  Simon Rhee is a stunt coordinator, on Cobra Kai, for instance.

It looks more like choreography, than training, because they keep running the same move.   And, from the speed and intensity, this is nearing the final form.  You start out e-x-t-r-e-m-e-l-y slow, planning out each move, without contact, then incrementally speed it up and adding contact.  
 

During a few Shakespeare shows I’ve been in, the director would hold auditions three months prior to the show. We would start the sword fight choreography immediately, using plastic tubes, gradually increasing speed.  After a month, we would start using swords, back at our very slow speed. By the time regular rehearsals started, and then the shows, we would have to be there a half hour early to run each fight, starting slowly and building up speed.  But, boy did it look and sound real.

Supposedly her next project is the Doris Day Biopic and then Role Play. Could these instructions/training be for one of these?

I think Role Play is first, now.  It’s an action-thriller, so the weapons and martial arts training make sense for that project.

I don’t know the full plot, but putting several descriptions together gets you an action-thriller about a married couple whose secrets about things in their past are revealed, which messes with their lives.
