Well the divorce rumors are all over the entertainment rags again. This time they say her and Ryan are fighting over babies.

 

It's from the same source, they said it back in september and nothing came of that.  Of course with all the divorces that happen with Hollywood celebrities, I think some magazines just want to beat other magazines to the punch when they say "I told you so." IF it happens.

I could see why TPTB weren't concerned with her hair, the new career they set her up with in season 8, supported that more business like haircut. However, IF she goes back to acting, I would think the longer hair would be more suited to that career path, since looking hot and young is important in Hollywood.

Someone might believe that except for the fact that Kaley is an actor and she is doing fine with short hair.

Okay I made a circular argument but there seem to have been a lot of young performers with short hair and they can wear a wig when a script calls for it. People complain about everything on line so that is not much of a guild. TBBT has even had Sheldon make a Taylor Swift reference this year. I think all is well.

I like the fact that once she gets to a point, she addresses them directly. She could pull in and not say anything, but that's not who Kaley seems to be. She's open about herself, had been quite self-deprecating and usually doesn't care what those outside of her friends and family think. As was pointed out to me, most of the posters here, in addition to the majority of those on the the internet that care about these things, recognizes that these are nothing more than rumors. If she gets annoyed at those propagating those rumors, as long as she handles it directly, and honestly, (and usually with humor), I think it's good for her to let things like that out. I wish her all the happiness and success she can find.

If she's immediately calling them on it and proving them wrong, people will get tired of it and the media outlets will stop making money from these stories, eventually leaving them alone (hopefully!)

The first or second time, sure.  But every time they do it?  It would just make it seem like she's trying too hard to prove something if you feel the need to have to keep reassuring people.  This isn't like with her feminist misquote late last year where her addressing that was arguably a necessary PR fix.

If she wishes to look like a mature woman and no longer be the attractive one on the show, then that's fine, the show isn't any the worse for it.

Attractiveness is all a matter of opinion--I think she looks cute with short hair, on the show and in real life.  So there's no objective factor that says who is more attractive than whom.

 

But I don't think it's ever right to say such things to her face like some of the things I've seen, "You should grow your hair out" or "I'm waiting for you to let your hair get long again" or whatever.  They may seem innocuous at first, but these are personal comments implying that she's no longer attractive.

Would you want someone saying that to your loved one or anyone you know?

 

I think it's just bad manners, but people feel like it's okay to say anything just because it's twitter or IG or whatever.

 

I could maybe understand it if she was making some political statement or whatever, that one might post a dissenting opinion if one could do it in a civil manner.  But talking about her hair or her marriage is just too personal to say in a post that she might see, even if she's not intentionally looking for those comments.

 

Believe it or not, she has personal friends whose comments she may be looking for or whatever and then she comes across this crap.

 

No wonder Jim was saying he'd like to ban the internet from the world for a day or two.

Kaley has said in the past she's obsessed with reading everything people write about her and has Google alerts set up to notify her any time something new comes up. So I'm sure she must read through at least some of the comments.

I agree and disagree with some of your points?  I think she can look at all the social media she wants to, what she does and doesn't take to heart is all on her.  

 

But if she says something, and somebody twists her words around (like with her feminist comment), then she has every right to be upset with someone taking her words out of context and/or misquoting them.  

 

But the gossip stuff like with her marriage, that stuff is always going to exist.  Nothing she says or does is going to change media outlets stretching things about their marriage beyond the truth.  Not every hill involving the media is worth dying on.

There's always going to be people that you might say something different to than if you were face to face.  If that were the main criteria for judging how we would communicate with people, would anyone be honest with everyone? I doubt they would.

 

Hell I experienced it last year when I shaved my head for Ultimate Summer League.  People's opinions were mostly 'meh' when face-to-face with me.  When discussed with other people that were not me, they all said it wasn't a good look on me.  I tried not to take it to heart, because its not the end of the world.

 

Heck even when discussing things with someone, there's no guarantees.  Recently I got accused of being a misogynist knuckle dragging neanderthal just because my comments on Penny's hair this season weren't politically correct enough (never mind the fact that I said that short hair works better on some people more than others, I even brought up how Mariska Hargitay's SVU character Olivia Benson looked better with short hair then long).  But the longer the debate went on the more it became clear to me that specific person didn't want to see any nuances in my comments.  They were determined to see what their gut told them I was, regardless of whether it was relevant or that they had next to nothing to prove that.  Once it sunk into my head that nothing I say or do was going to change that, it was easy to just let bygones be bygones and realize that some aren't worth the time and struggle to debate something with.

 

Kaley's been in this business long enough to know these kinds of things too, so why bother letting every column that exaggerates the quality of her and Ryan's marriage get to her?

 

Even then it's not like every comment towards Kaley about these things is uncivilized.

If I told Kaley to her face that her hair looked great I would be outright lying. So it all depends on which you believe is the lesser of the two evils; personally, I would not say anything to her if possible because I know it is a sensitive subject but if she asked directly for my opinion, I wouldn't hesitate to tell her what I thought of it.

I do not believe that Mayim is more attractive than Kaley; I was actually referring to Melissa, who I believe is now the beautiful one on the show. I think it's ridiculous to ask whether I would say all my opinions directly to those concerned- we all gossip from time to time, it is human nature. Everybody says things in private they wouldn't say directly to someone, and I'm sure Kaley does exactly the same when talking about her fellow cast members and other people she knows. It's a part of life.

I don't think someone saying 'you should grow your hair out' is a 'personal comment implying she isn't attractive' at all. It is simply a suggestion saying how they think Kaley would look better. I wouldn't be upset at all if someone suggested that to me, or someone I know. I get suggestions like that from people all the time, but different people have different opinions and I just accept that and usually ignore them.

I very highly doubt that any 'personal friend' of Kaley's would post comments about her online, which she would then actively seek out. Any personal friend of Paley's would no doubt 'understand' the 'trauma' she is currently going through regarding social media and so would not post anything on the websites which are apparently giving Kaley so much grief. No personal friend of mine would post comments about me on a website; by doing that, they are not a personal friend anymore, just as I would never post comments, good or otherwise, about friends of mine online because of the potential hurt it could cause.

I'll say it again, Kaley is her own worst enemy by looking at these comments. If she really doesn't care what people think of her, she should just deactivate her accounts because otherwise they just become targets of abuse. A lot of people (including me) thought she was a beautiful woman in seasons 1-7 and has now ruined her image by cutting her hair in such a manly way, but if she doesn't want to hear those criticisms or get trolled, then she ought not to engage in social media.

What I do agree with is something meka pointed out- if Kaley's words are taken out of context and skewed to make it seem like she was saying something different to what she was actually saying, then that is cruel and is not something I agree with. But other comments about her hair... She either needs to just take them with a pinch of salt and deal with them or not read them at all.
