Howardette Season 11 (Spoilers)

Hello again for another season of TBBT with hopefully lots of sweet and funny moments for Howardette!

Season 10 was great for them, the balance between their life as parents and their life as a couple was very good, so let´s look forward for another great season 11 for them.

I´m very excited and I hope that you join again to talk about Howardette!

Same here! They were my favourite couple in s10 after shamy as their interactions got even deeper and loving as they were parents. Looking foward  to another great season to them and have so much fun as we share our thoughts about Holowitz family

I agree, their love really grow deep, they were so supportive and sweet to each other in season 10, that I was melting away often enough. I would love to see Howardette meeting other parents from the day care they could attend a parents-educator evening at the daycare. It could be fun, to see how they interact especially how Bernadette interacts with the other parents as she can be quite intimidating to other people. Once Halley goes to school, I´m sure that Bernie will win every parent´s speaker election, because no one dares to vote for someone else. LOL

Howardette truly where a highlight of S10 for me - which next to the flood of Shamy goodness is quite a compliment. I loved the pregnancy plots as well as them getting used to dealing with Halley. Their end of season interactions that weren't baby related at all (their weird talents, them being clingy when there's a downtime in projects) were the cherry on top!

Though I think my favourite was the crib scene with Bernie holding Halley and Howard sneaking in to see if they're alright (10x13). It legit made me tear up and that usually doesn't happen. Well done, show!

Please more of that in S11!! <3

Always liked them to a degree and their character journey together but last season my admiration for them went to another level entirely.

Hopefully looking forward to more of the same, if they have a season as strong as the last one then I am really looking forward to it!

The crib scene was indeed so tender. Bernie in that crib her daughter pressed against her was soooo cute and Howard was such a sweetheart when he told her that he loved her and Halley. He has been so supportive whenever Bernie was questioning herself that it was heart-warming. All this sweetness in season 10 makes me  want more like this for Howardette! I don´t want to change them much, for me the writers can continue with this mixture of parents stories and their quirky hobbies (I would love to see Bernie practising with Tammy Jo from time to time or Bernie getting more ventriloquist dummies so Tammy Jo has company) or seeing them do some other weird stuff doing together.

If I want to change something, than it is Howard to become more responsible and supportive when it comes to his tasks at home.

At least Howard had a thing for Disney princesses in the past, I remember that he once mentioned that he saw a Snow White movie which was definitely only for adults. So who knows what other costumes they have in store.  (Well at least one catholic school girl uniform)

You know, if I would do a Top 10 from S10 , this scene had to be included! I know sometimes I sound too sappy but this scene was really one that made me tearyeyed for its tenderness and for the love a child means to a couple who love each other. S10 really had a few quite memorable wonderful moments about love in a few differents forms usually every human accomplish in a lifetime. Hopefully s11 will be another one filled of great accomplishments for the love each character has in their lives.

Same here. Maybe some of writers goals to Howard include responsability and supportness when it comes to his husband role at home as a couple should help each other about household tasks. It helps everything comes easier to both and it would be also a sign of groth from Howard as well. He could keep his time for videogames and hanging out with guys as it could be more balanced with his role as father and husband.  Because a married person must not stop to do what they enjoy as long it is balanced with the new stuff marriage and parenthood bring to a person's life.  Imo there is so much potencial for great stories for Bernardette as the writers may focus on things of their daily routine in their jobs, with their friends and family and with their own stuff as couple and parents. Really looking foward to all of that!

I love their dinamic as couple what are sex and fun related. Howard really changed for better some things for Bernardette and it has been a joy to follow them. Let them roleplaying, road trip, or whatever we can see how good and meant to be they are.

I loved Howardette last season, and I wasn't that excited at the idea of a baby in the show at first. As I said early today in another thread, the writers  decided to focus on very original plots and tackled some interesting topic about women and motherhood, like Bernie not being into baby stuff at or being worried that the pregnancy might have made her loose some career opportunities.  I wonder if those stories were inspired by a real life experience, maybe somebody in the writers room has had a baby recently and has faced similar challenges...Anyway, also for me the crib scene is the highlight of Howardette season, it was really moving!

The crib definitely is at the top of Top 10 season 10 Howardette moments! 

Don´t worry, just because you love heartfelt emotional moments, doesn´t mean that you are sappy.

The writers did a great work with Howardette this season, they were emotional but not sappy and hit the audience right in the heart with their love for each other.

I hope the writers will definitely let Howard explore his abilities as a husband now that he doesn´t have to work on the guidance system anymore.

There´s so much potential for sweet, funny plots with him. I would love to see Howard getting cooking classes from Sheldon or Raj (preferably Sheldon, because it is time for some Showard )

Or Howard has to prepare dinner, because Bernie is working and comes home late, but he forgot to go shopping, so he has to make a dinner with the ingredients he has at home. How about baking soda potato casserole? (Because there was no salt left LOL)

It could be funny, to see how Bernie struggles to swallow down the whole meal, because she doesn´t want to hurt Howard´s feelings as this is the first time he cooked for them and Howard as well, because he fears to confess, that he forgot to go shopping.

I don't know why, but I just have this feeling that Howardette's amazing stories will continue in Season 11, and perhaps they will outshine Monica and Chandler(my all time favorite married couple)...

And maybe we'll get some surprises from them, haha.

Since they announced today Melissa is pregnant will it be another baby for Howardette, or will Melissa be the one standing behind a kitchen island this year?

I think there could be a possibility for Bernie to be pregnant again. She could announce her pregnancy in the premiere, which will be still set in May because it has to pick up where the finale ended, and then in 10.2 they could have the time jump with Amy returning home from Princeton, maybe a little later than she thought because her work there took a bit longer. That would set Bernie more or less in the timeframe Melissa's own pregnancy is, she wouldn't even have to hide her baby bump (apart for the premiere). Not sure, anyway, there can be two invisible babies in the show, this also a detail that has to be taken into account. If the writers don't want a real baby in the show, then I guess Bernie will be sitting on a table or hiding behind all sort of weird things a lot next season...

I personally don't think that there is going to be another Bernie pregnancy.  I think we are going to spend several months playing "spot the bump".

To be honest, I don't think they will either. She's due in the fall sometime, so the trick will be writing her out for maternity leave.

I'm curious about that too. They usually have a whole month off starting mid-December, so she might "use" that as part of her maternity leave and miss just a few episodes. I guess it depends on when she decides to stop working and above all when the baby is due. I'd say, based on her pic, she is now more than 5 months pregnant and she might give birth around November, but it's hard to tell, since Melissa is so tiny, so probably her baby bump is misleading.

If they write it in I think they should do a much bigger time jump than they usually do (when they do). Having her pregnant less than 3 months after giving birth seems too weird for me, they will have to make it a mistake... I don't think having two babies less than a year apart is suitable for Howardette. 1.5-2 years apart is more suitable IMO. I guess they will just hide her behind ridiculously large objects, like Raj's giant bear.

As for the maternity leave - maybe they will use pre-taped scenes for some of it.

Well, mistakes like that happen in real life all the time. I've read one term for that phenomenon is "Catholic twins" so I guess they could even make a joke out of it with Bernie's family being Catholic and all.

But personally I also think they'll most likely rather go with the "hide behind ridiculous objects" theme. Or sending her away for a bit where we only see her via skype. Or work with pre-taped scenes. Or even have an episode or two where we don't see her at all and only hear her yell from the other room. Many possibilities here.

I'd say she's either at the end of the 5th month or even in her 6th already. As I found you don't actually see that much until halfway through the pregnancy, especially for first time mothers. So the depiction of Bernie's pregnancy where we would all wonder when we'd get to see a baby bump was pretty accurate (if it weren't for that darned 11/12 month time frame ugh).

If my estimate is accurate she would be giving birth somewhen in November or at the latest early December. If she's further along in her pregnancy then it would be October. In terms of taping schedule mid to late November would probably be ideal cause of the hiatus. I'm not sure but I think there was one of 3 weeks in November, then they filmed the 2 January episodes in early December and then you have another 4 weeks or so until they start filming in the new year. So they only would have to work around those two January episodes if she's completely absent then.

Thanks for that! Tbh, I think hidding will be the solution. Not a perfect solution mind you but imo more open to plan which storyplots  Howardette could have in next seasons without being all of them about babies.

I wish they would just concentrate on a few good storylines with the boys together. That has been sorely lacking the last few years. They were funny when they did that kind of thing at the start and it would be a nice interlude for the fans who feel the show has gotten too relationship driven. For a few weeks, they could come up with something. Maybe this is their chance to finally DO something with Raj and the others get involved? Or something work related to replace the project theylost?

Yes ! With only Raj to go now they can start focussing on mischief and work instead of relationships. They could do some girls' storylines too, with the pram in front of Bernadette as in 10.23 if they're going to be standing up. It's not unusual to see them at a table anyway.
