I am curious as to how early you should get in line if you have tickets (NOT Standby) to the 6:30 PM taping of a show.  Also, we have never been to LA before and was going to try and tour Warner Brother's Studio before getting in line that day... Would a 12 or 12:30 tour time work?

Thanks!

When I went I got in line just before midday. If the taping is busy and the cast/crew have guests there is a possibility you won't get in. At midday there were about 15 people ahead of me and it got really busy at about 1pm. However, I've only been once so perhaps that was an exception...

I did the tour the day before instead as it's about 3hrs long.

It depends on each taping I guess, but the first time I went (August 2015), I had guaranteed ticket as well, I did the tour at 12:00 and went straight to the line right after and I had no problems at all to get in. Can't say it's that easy every taping, but it's definitely doable.

When I went this year, I did the 9:30 tour, came out at 12:30 and got to the line up at about 1. There were about 40 people ahead of me but I had a "guaranteed ticket" so wasn't fussed. When it was officially time to line up, it became apparent many were hopefuls with standbys and I suddenly moved up to number 20 in line. I was fine but as we found out later, it was a specific taping at which the cast brought about 50 guests between them so even some "guaranteeds" who turned up confidently around 4 missed out because there was seat shortage due to the guests. As an Aussie with one chance of ever going, I was glad I got there by 1. Tour was great too but I was given advice by regulars here to go early so I'd have time to get a good spot in line.

Although January 2018 tapings haven't been announced yet, following the general taping dates for the last few years, there should be a taping on January 9, 2018. In the past, tickets would be expected to go on sale on Monday, December 11th. However, looking at this thread, it looks like they're being released on the weekends too? Is that still going on? I'm trying to get three guaranteed tickets for all of our first time attending. One of the other people will be able to be on a second computer with me to help, but the third has to be at work. Is there any tips on getting multiple guaranteed tickets? I know you have to enter everyone separately.

Based on some of the more recent tapings this season, they have been releasing tickets on the weekends. To be safe, I would check on Saturday, December 9th and Sunday, December 10th, assuming that there is a taping on January 9th. Of course, there are normally updates in this thread as tickets go live. As the dates get closer, I'm sure someone on here could assist you further. I hope you have the opportunity to go! It's a blast!

Hello all - newbie here from the UK.

I have managed to get standby tickets for the October 31st showing for my girlfriend and I - I know there are no guarantees but what is a suggested time to show up to expect a reasonable chance of getting in?

I have been to a couple of shows over here in the UK (Top Gear and a quiz show) and for both we turned up around 4 hours before taping, and we got in with no issues. Is turning up at 12 a good time?

Thanks all! Hopefully I will see you there!

I have been in the standby line as early as 7am and sometimes as late as 1pm. And I have never had an issue getting in. However, There has been occasions when no Standby got in due to an error with VIP ticket holders. I doubt that will happen again though.

So really, it's up to you.

I was thinking about turning up at midday, and keeping my fingers crossed, so thanks for that!

When you turned up at 7, were you the first one there?!

I am from Germany and I want to attend a taping of season 11 with my girlfriend and now I have several questions:

1. we arrive 03/26/18 in LA. How are the chances that there will be a taping between 03/27/18 and 04.03.18?

2. due to the fact that it would be almost the end of season 11 I am afraid that it might be harder to get guaranteed tickets. Is it harder towards the end of a season?

3. It would be the first time for me trying to get tickets. How are the chances if you are right there when they go up? Will the server be down?

4. What was the earliest time they got up? Is it early enough if I start refreshing the website at 7am LA time?

we want to go there so badly!!! Hope you can help me!

I'll let others answer your other specific questions, but for the tapings, if they are tapings, they would happen ON the 27th of March and the 3rd of April.    We won't know, for sure, what, if any dates, until probably January.  For your information, in season 10 (last year) and in season 7, there were tapings on both comparable dates.   In season 8 and season 9  the comparable dates only had tapings on one of the dates.  What would be, in this season, March 27 in season 8 and April 03 in season 9.

Sometimes, when tickets go up, it says that they're unavailable. KEEP TRYING and resubmit your request several more times. There may still be tickets available, but for whatever reason, the site may initially generate that response.

I did it from Australia and yes I started refreshing from about 7 am LA time ( which was about 4 am for me that time of year). Did that early because advice then was sometimes they come online a little earlier than expected and it was my one chance to go. Once on they were gone in about 10 minutes so stay alert if it’s your only shot. Helps if you have someone on at the same time time getting a ticket if you want more than one because you can only book one ticket at a time. Good luck. It was so worth the effort. The week you are going is the same time I was there this year and as Tensor said historically there has usually been a taping around that time ( that’s what he told me back then ).

Hey everyone,

From what I've read from this forum everyone seems pretty helpful so I thought I would give this a shot.  My wife and I have loved Big Bang Theory for years now and we never miss an episode.  My wife is turning 50 soon and out of the blue she mentioned to me that she would love to go to a taping of Big Bang Theory as a birthday present.  So I take to the internet to find taping dates and how to get tickets and I see there is a taping on 1/9/18 and the site you purchase tickets from is tvtickets.com.  However, after reading through other fans experiences with actually getting guaranteed tickets I see a wide variance on the actual times the tickets go on sale.  This is especially true when the sale date falls on a weekend like it would appear the 1/9/18 taping would do.  I've seen suggestions of checking on both Saturday morning and Sunday morning.  I've even seen others say that they have even seen them go on sale at midnight the night before.   Given that the window of opportunity is so short (I'm seeing 10 minutes from most posts) I wonder if anyone could help me out on narrowing down the time range that I need to be actively engaged in looking for tickets.  I was hoping to make this a surprise to present to my wife so I unfortunately won't be able to ask her to assist in the actual purchasing of the tickets to give me another pair of hands to click.

Thanks in advance for any advice or assistance anyone can give me.

Hi, Chris. Welcome to the forum! Tickets are free and are usually posted to the site a month prior to the taping. So, tickets for 1/9/18 should be available on Monday, December 11. In years past, tickets were posted on a Monday if the 1-month date fell on a weekend day. However, there have been a few incidences where tickets were posted over the weekend. I would start checking the site on Saturday, December 9. Please visit the first post of this thread for other specifics as to the times when tickets are posted, as well as to view additional, helpful tips. I've been fortunate to attend two tapings thanks to this forum and other members' suggestions. The most recent taping I attended was the season premiere, "The Proposal Proposal." I remember that the tickets posted several hours after when they were initially to be available. Therefore, keep checking! Also, the site sometimes reads that tickets are no longer available, even though you can still choose the series from the list of options. Keep trying! Sometimes the site experiences glitches and tickets are still available. I wish you good luck in securing tickets to surprise your wife! :)

Is there a dress code for attending a taping?  I have tickets but have no idea if casual jeans and a sweater is acceptable attire.

Never been to a taping, but from what people around here has told us during the years I don't think there's a dress code, some fans even wear TBBT related T-shirts or cosplay as one the characters, so your planned outfit seems more than ok to me.
