Probably unless she is going to be an recurring character this season. I don't see Raj or Stuart ever finding their SO. But who knows. I Think from a comedy sense. It makes sense. It is more funnier, well to me anyway. To see two down on their luck guys, who are kinda pathetic. Struggle to find love.

I vaguely remember reading that Melissa's baby is due at the end of the year.

Now the final taping for the year is December 12th, and they go on break until second week of January, which fits nicely for her getting time off anyway. So we will have less Bernadette for the taping's of episode's 11, 12 & 13 or pre-taped scenes right? I assume Skype cameo's and her visiting her family for the holidays.

Bernadette won't give birth until most likely at the end of the season. I wonder if Shamy's wedding will occur at the same time Bernadette's second child is born in 11.24. It wouldn't surprise me if this were to be the case?

Other regulars were brought in for an episode or several before they became regulars or semi-regulars. Priya, Emily, Bernadette (for several episodes). Even Amy whose character never left the show was only on every so often in the beginning. So this girl could show up later and become Raj['s girl.

Holland said Bernie's baby is due in March (even if given what happened with Halley, I wouldn't rule another 12 months pregnancy out, LOL!) and that Melissa is going to be on maternity leave for a few episodes. He didn't specify which episodes she will miss exactly, but I guess they will try to reduce them at a minimum with pre-taped scenes or stuff like that.

It was said her baby is due in fall - so I would expect October/November/early December.

Oh dear lord, I hope neither happens. One elephant pregnancy was bad enough and the birth interrupting yet another Shamy event feels pretty repetitive even for me.

Here it is, Holland said "She is not due until March", which technically makes it  kind of a 10-11 months pregnancy again, maybe that's how Bernie's body works after all, LOL! I guess any February sweeps episode  (this year sweeps are February 1-28) would be a more realistic due-date.

My point @djsurrey was not if it was very funny or not. Obviously I dont want to be funny as I made a joke as I am not a clown or something alike. The point was you corrected me for something I posted before the joke and it was not wrong. If people correct me for grammar or spelling, I dont be upset. On contrary, I thank them and it has happened once in a while in forum or by pm. Correcting me after a few posts for something that was not wrong, yeah, I am human, it upsets me. And I am here since last year for have fun as I share tbbt stuff or discuss the seasons. Not for I feel my posts dont deserve be read or understood. Sorry but I would be lying if I said last night I logged off without being upset about this.

Thanks! Completely missed that and.. ughhhh yes, that already makes it another very very overdue pregnancy. JFC show! You don't have a pregnancy test and then add 9 months to get the due date. That's not how pregnancies work!

ETA:

Realistically Bernie would have the baby in January since she found out she's pregnant before the time jump which means they are still somewhen in late May (Lenny's anniversary). So basically: to have a positive pregnancy test in late May she'd be in her 5th or 6th week at the earliest. Which means pregnancy would have started with calender week 15 - add to that 40 weeks and we end up in January. Having the baby in freaking March makes the poor woman go through another 12 months pregnancy! What the hell, show!?

I also think it'll probably be weird to have Bernie looking like she's in her third trimester (thanks to Melissa's real baby bump) while still pretending to be in her second.

Yeah...I think early february sweeps could be a "reasonable" compromise between a somehow realistic pregnancy (it would be two-three weeks off, but nothing compared with Halley's birth) and ratings.  March seems odd from every PoV you look at it, it's not a mid-season finale or a sweep period or anything. Unless Holland wasn't really thinking it through and said the first date that came to his mind...As for Melissa's baby bump, according to her co-workers (for example Mayim on Grok Nation), at the moment it isn't that big, she can still pass for being in her second-trimester. I know that can change any moment, but probably Melissa will be on maternity leave during her last weeks of pregnancy (whenever that falls) and we'll see her through pre-taped scenes.

Well...I don't think for her it's a big deal if Bernie has elephant-like pregnancies, as long as her real life pregnancy lasts the right number of weeks, LOL! She will be on maternity leave when needed  (probably pre-taping some scenes here and there, so she won't even miss the salary for those episodes) and when she returns at work, she will wear a fake baby bump for some episodes, it's not the end of the world....

I hear you sister! I face-palmed hard when I found out about the March due date (thank you so much @mirs1!). They have their pregnancy and birtj schedules totally off. 

I also remember reading in so many sites that Howard and Bernie find out about the pregnancy when Halley is 9 months. It could be the authors' mistake but it was repeated so many times which makes me think it was a mistake made in a press release. Halley was 5 months in May, 4 if it was prior to her birthday.

It's hard to tell time in TBBT universe... I guess Amy went to Princeton in May, so she returned at the end of August/early-September, given the 3 month jump in the premiere's tag scene. So, is Bernadette in month 4 in September? I guess they're using ambiguity in their favor. Still, wouldn't February be more appropriate versus a March due date?

Yes, I remember the olive comparison... I can't remember if it was in an article on Grok Nation, during her interview on James Cordon, or both. It's interesting to see how Melissa looks with a real pregnancy versus the artificial bump they gave her last year.

Oh, I read that. It's very nice of Mayim to say but it's certainly not the truth in my opinion. Melissa looks very pregnant to my eyes. Sure, she isn't one of those women that gain a massive amount of weight so she isn't looking like that kinda cliché pregnant woman (and Mayim herself has just talked about it this summer that she was, well, less lucky with her pregnancy here) but the baby bump is still there and appropriate for how far she is. It's not like the fake baby bump from last year was any bigger at this point, now was it?

Depending on MR's due date, the timing is actually fortunate.  TBBT always takes a 3 week holiday hiatus from mid-December to early January.  So that's 3 weeks that they are not filming, so they get a breather from having to juggle logistics.

Mayim's comment actually mirror's the comment Jim made on Jimmy Kimmel.  Jim's appearance was taped the day of the first Season 11 table read and Jim said that Melissa was so tiny that she didn't look pregnant, it just looked like she had eaten a big meal.

Who knows, maybe the writers will make Bernie go through quarantine after some mishap at work. i know we have had this story before but it is an easy way to deal with Melissa's absence

Or, they could even have the character on bed-rest, staying at her parents for additional care, etc. It'll be interesting to see how they handle it, but with so many possibilities, it won't be difficult.
