And, as is the case today, just because those shows were successful doesn't mean they were good. Folks are still watching MTM, but not Three's Company. Lot of people still watch Three's Company. It actually was more popular in Syndication then Mary Tyler Moore Show! and it original broadcast The Complete Seasons on DVD of TC sold like Hotcakes over a period of only a Few years, unlike TMTMS which took years to get all seasons out on DVDs. Not to say Mary Tyler Moore was not popular but There's Company was more instant hit form get so and has done better overall in Syndication and with DVD Sales. More people prefer Mary Tyler Moore as Laura Petrie but many people still do love Mary Richards.
