300 episodes for a Live action broadcast sitcom is quite an achievement.  Only three have hit that mark, and the last one of those broadcast it's final episode in 1972(My Three Sons).  Last Thursday was episode 237, passing Friends (236), in number of episodes.  The next sitcoms coming up are Murphy Brown (11 years, 247 episodes) and The Andy Griffith Show (8 years, 249 episodes, thats and average of 31 per year).   By the end of this year, they will have 255 episodes and will have tied Happy Days (11 years) and passed The Jefferson's (11 years, 253 episodes) and Bewitched (8 years, 254 episodes).   The first episode next year would tie MASH  (11 years, 256 episodes) and then Married with Children (11; 258).  By the end of season 12, they will have pass all live action sitcoms, on broadcast except for the three that are over 300, and The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, that ran for 8 years, and 291 episodes, that's 36 episodes a season.

What about Ozzie & Harriet?   Where do they stand in the broadcast sitcoms?

From Alex Ayers's IG stories:

A board with all dates (read/shoot/air) for episodes 11.14 - 11.24.

Alright, looking at this time table I think Melissa might be away (and thus Bernie on off-screen bed rest) until at least 11x15. Since there's no episode then in February the idea of Bernie having her baby in March makes at least sense in terms of the filming schedule (still annoys the heck out of me but what can ya do?).

11x19 is the 250th episode.

Thanks goodness there's a reasonable explanation for it, it was driving me crazy, two elephant-like pregnancy were too much! Anyway, I've noticed this time they are trying really hard to (post) date Bernie's pregnancy in a way that March seems plausible. No need to specify in the dialogue between Howard and Bernie in the last episode Bernie was going exactly to the 16 weeks visit. It's not accurate with the way the S. 10 finale/S. 11 premiere was handled, but...there's nothing you can do against the Olympics...

Who cares when Bernie gives birth really. Well anyone really notice. I don't really care tbh.

I do,  quite a lot, actually.

This time it's not an elephant-length pregnancy* (and they do know they messed up the previous one and people noticed, they did a meta joke on it) but apparently it's one when you find out about a day after it starts (if she gives birth on the 41/42th week which is reasonable) or a week or two before it starts LOL

I'm sorry. Its hard to excited over imaginary babies. Is this kid going to have to have the same annoying voice as Halley? They screwed up last years pregnancy which IMO never should have happened. anyways. So they doubled down again IMO their stupidity by having another one. So this ones better because the time period is more accurate?

Maybe Penny's go-to psychic sells special pregnancy tests now? LOL

Oh, I don't care at all about the baby, actually I'm among those fans who would have been happy with no kids in the show up to the very end (even if I prefer they did write Melissa's pregnancy into the show to have her  hidden behind big objects for 9 months). All I care is that...you know...I can count, so it bothers me when dates don't add up. And I know general audience won't even notice, but I do! At least there's a reason this time.

Lots of people have their kids very close in age. It not uncommon to have another very soon after.  It does happen.

One of my great-grandmothers had her last 6 (of 12) kids all in under 7 years! They were each born one year after the last one except for one year where she had no baby.

The only reasons they made Bernadette Pregnant was because Melissa was Pregnant in real life.  At first, they did consider hiding her pregnancy.

No TV Show has ever followed the timeline of a actual 9 Months pregnancy. I am not surprised TBBT didn't.

You'd expect a show about science and that was proud of getting science right would put more attention to that..Still very upset about Bernie's first pregnancy, because they actually had her announce the pregnancy on Valentine's day (a very recognizable date) and give birth on Amy's birthday (another recognizable date among fans) just to have a memorable episode. They set the calendar with their own hands, it's not just not following the actual 9 Months pregnancy.

Why shouldn't it have happened? It was the next logical step for them as they have been married for quite a while and they have their own large house. I'm not the biggest fan of another baby storyline so soon after the first but they couldn't know Melissa was going to end up pregnant in real life fairly soon back then when they made that storyline decision.

It made plenty of sense back then for them to have a child, they are the couple of firsts on the show. First to live together, first to get engaged, first to get married and first to have a kid. I always assumed if babies were ever going to come up they would be the first (unless Kaley got pregnant in real life).

There are scheduling reasons for those large gaps in the broad cast schedule in February and March.  For March, were used to missing two Thursdays, due to the NCAA Basketball Tournament (AKA March Madness).  In February, it's not quite are obvious.  This year the Winter Olympics are held and NBC broadcasts them for just over two weeks, which includes three Thursdays.  So, other than the first Thursday in February, NBC will have the Olympics on Thursday, and this means no TBBT for those Thursdays.

I think the  TPTB knew of the possibility of her getting pregnant. I goota believe they knew of the earlier miscarriage.

i agree with most of what you said about that Howdette  were the couple of firsts.  But babies were first mentioned by Leonard in the first episode after meeting Penny. I know to many the smart and beautiful babies line means nothing. JMO though it means a lot to most Lenny fans and it leaves a bitter taste in their mouths. Since their not showing the babies anyways what was the need for Bernadette's pregnancies? To hear that irritating, as I mentioned earlier,  baby voice.
