Same here. Suspension of disbelief is important to  my enjoyment. Anything that drags me back to real life spoils that for me.

That’s why it kills me that Leonard and Penny never kiss hello. Or goodnight. Or good morning. Or “hey, I made you toast, you’re welcome “.

Unless I overlooked those bits.

They mentioned Yorker as well, a type of delivery (the way the ball is bowled).

Cricket is fairly popular in parts of the world, especially in England, Australia, South Africa and Asia so I kind of liked seeing it being mentioned a bit.

It's growing in popularity because of migration and satellite television.

Here in DC, you even occasionally see crime reports with cricket bats as weapons.  Montgomery County, Maryland is looking to build a cricket pitch.

You haven't. By the way does 4a still have a bedroom?

This was mentioned on the episode threat but Penny sort has been on fire later. She shot down Howdette last week by being to take care of Halley and being called mom. Then she shot down Sheldon, for a change, by defending her reputation. Then she didn't coddle Raj when he as seeking relationship advice. So two weeks in a row she's been shown in a favorable light. So  The writers for once did get something right.

You're correct in your assessment. However, bear in mind that even a broken watch is right twice a day. Just saying.....

Penny interest is written to support an idea. There's no impediment because she's not a person, she's a concept.

Of course there is an impediment, because of the reasons I stated previously. And, for the sake of accuracy Penny is not just a concept but a character, and as such responds to certain parameters, and within those parameters is that the expressed (by her) impediment exists.

I liked Ruchi and Raj together. Their  bonding over cricket seemed sincere and it looked like they had chemistry to me. I also like the idea of Raj dealing with a woman which doesn't have his romantic ideas about love and relationships and how he adjusted to that. It's an interesting angle to explore and I'm willing to give them a chance. What didn't make the plot for me was how Raj was with other people. First thing he did the morning after he slept with Ruchi is bragging about it with Howard, seriously? Is he 15? Then him speaking with Penny was a rehash of old stereotypes about the way he handles relationships, stereotypes that don't fit him anymore, because he did things "casually" with Emily and Claire and was loving it, until they broke up with him. I don't know, I assume Raj is still Raj...but I did like how he interacted with Ruchi.

Why was it creepy ?  Why was it better suited for Will and Grace or  MF ?

I didn't think it was creepy. First of all, it was not Sheldon fantasizing about a man, but in reality about something he couldn't have (Bert as a partner in a science project). Secondly it was, IMO, done very tongue in cheek, not by any means trying to depict Bert as sexy or anything like that. Finally, I enjoyed the fact that Bert didn't want to work with Sheldon because of how he'd behaved. For the first time in a long time, we are seeing that Sheldon's bad actions are having some consequences. Kudos to the show for that.

While it might not been creepy it was a waste  of the tag IMO. I do agree with everything else you said. The  show has done the fantasy dream sequence way too many times though

Well, Raj in a "casual relationship" with Emily and Claire was a trainwreck so his friends treating any attempt at that with Ruchi as impending doom fits well enough. In the end I found this more in character than the two-timing nonsense.

It's still disappointing that he has his jerk moments but at least we got to see some positive sides of him as well. I liked the cricket scene and also the date with the debate about love. Not sure if Ruchi will be ~the one~ but they have at least some chemestry.

Penny is pretty. I didn't say she was ugly lol

I think you and the poster are discussing really two different things. I think his point may be with Penny not having much screentime makes her less  desirable. I don't think he was arguing who was prettier. He does have a point that she has half the screen time of Sheldon. Evening  up screen time is a whole another discussion.

A thought just occured to me...

What if Bert and Leonard's work does make a breakthrough, what if they DO prove dark matter:blind:

Last nights episode "The Geology Methodology" was ok and had some funny moments. However, did anyone notice that Penny was only in two scenes: the one with Sheldon and the one with Raj. And she only had about a dozen lines of dialogue. Is this what her character has come to, a mother hen to everyone? When are they going to give her some meaningful storylines? No wonder she wants to ride her horses into the sunset. Also, I am getting pretty tired of the references to her promiscuity. This is another rehash attempt to get a laugh. It has become boring and inappropriate now that she is married. Hopefully, she will get some prominent A-plot stories.  Also, this was another Sheldon centric episode and I think next weeks episode is as well.

It's pretty telling that one of the few character constellations that's missing this season so far is a proper girls plot. Those are usually the ones where Penny gets a bit more focus cause whenever she's with one of the guys the writing tends to err on the male pov which is a whole other can of worms in itself. ugh

And seeing how Melissa might be away on maternity leave any week now I fear we won't get one of these any time soon either... I miss the girls together! :C

I think that Sheldon gets all this screen time must surely be because of the new show , perhaps this will change as longer the season gets. It is a bit sad that Leonard is written so badly that he never calls Sheldon out on this slut shaming.

She doesn't need the other girls to have a meaningful storyline.

It's not the only way but they usually are good scenes and storylines when they are together. Two of my top 5 episodes had that kind of setup. They rarely seem to get it wrong IMO in terms of writing and the acting is usually top notch. I recall this very forum effusing praise in recent years when Penny/Amy/Bernadette are together.

Haven't seen that type of storyline this season so far and that may be limited by Melissa's reduced workload and then maternity leave this season.

PAmydette is one of my favourite groupings on the show because I find them genuinely funny (much funnier than the guys). As with every episode of the show you just rate it storyline by storyline, pairing by pairing, individual by individual.

Just calling it how I see it and what I personally enjoy seeing. Of course if we get a few girls only storylines that I think are poor it may change my mind. But as I know they are usually good I wouldn't mind seeing more of those types of stories.

On the basis of the L/P love story as earlier presented, I feel latterly that I have been the subject of a bait and switch con. Heheh. And Shamy isn’t a substitute. On the evidence the Howard & Bernie relationship seems to me to be most authentic at the moment. Looking forward (he says wryly) to Shert.
