I personally think Shamy are boring. And not compelling enough to drive plots through them. But that is jmo. I skip their scenes. But different stroaks and all. From Season 8-10 The Show was very Shamy focused. Even though it has alievated a tad this season. Most of the story archs are still consistent. Nothing new.

You are right   The brief synopsis of episode 11 that Babar graciously advised looks like another Shamy plotline. So another episode it seems where Penny and Leonard are relegated to secondary status. This is really getting old. Just wish they would start giving them some genuine storylines to satisfy their fans and salaries.

People keep talking about the big change with Holland. LOL. Amy is just a prop in a Shamy storyline. Generally the women on the show lately are just props for the guys. Penny confined to the building. Bernie conveniently in bed rest. It’s obvious the show is written by guys. The women writers in name only. Maybe getting coffee or dry cleaning for the men.

The explanation is quite simple. :shy:

I agree with some of what you said and in some of the episodes this season Amy or Penny have had the stronger episode because they haven't been involved in the main storylines, the last episode for example I thought nobody really came out well but if anyone did it was Penny and Amy because they were on the sidelines not really getting sucked into that pathetic bickering storyline.

Amy did have that storyline with Howard which I enjoyed a lot but on the whole and Amy is my favorite character but I haven't enjoyed her as much this season as her own character. Penny for example had that Berverly plot but it wasn't that new really she has interacted with Beverly on her own before and actually got on with her. And it is frustrating because I do genuinely love seeing them (the girls) interacting together and we haven't had that this season (though some of that might be/is probably because of Melissa's pregnancy).

And yes I have had issues with how the women have been written on the show through the years as well, I wouldn't say this is anything new its been there since its existence in some way.

The big change in Holland is he has toned down the Leonard and Penny snark to be less vicious and more playful, I think that's obvious to anyone. But I wouldn't say they are getting stronger storylines at all he's just tweaked those interactions.

If that's enough to praise Holland for a job well done then the bar must be set low. Will have to see what the upcoming episodes bring us...

That is exactly the opinion of many, many of us fans of Leonard/Penny/Lenny/Johnny/Kaley.  We have been missing their unique relationship since the end of season 6.  With escalating snark and the debacle of the twelfth hour confession of the happenings on the Hawking expedition there had been little for that section of the fandom to be happy and excited about.  As of right now it is an "any port in a storm" thing.

I actually disagree. Amy criticized the guys behavior and not Sheldon's in front of the group. Penny laughed at Sheldon's low blow comment at the end.

Penny is a main character. The other two are not. JMO storylines should reflect that.

Holland has had Lenny fight less also less screen time together. Tensors numbers prove that.

Happy Taping Day.

I do see what you saying about the writing of the female Characters this season. I agree., Be nice to see storylines written just about them. Though in fairness Bernadette has an ongoing Pregnancy Storyline. So that something

All of the characters have been kind of snarky to each other this season and were also last season a little bit.  They have gotten more snarky towards each other.  It was kind of funny at first and can be if done in the right way (Seinfeld) but the way this show has been doing it this Season comes off as hurtful sometimes like Sheldon snarky comments to Amy.

Why hasn' somebody deck him yet?

Last week I ask on a few of TBBT Facebook Fan groups and there a lot of people who said they do not like the direction the show this season or hadn't for the last couple seasons is going and also people who said they don't like where the Leonard and Penny Relationship is going.  Many also agreed that it turning into the 'Shleodn show' and that they are tired of Sheldon

In earlier seasons it was a more balanced show and because of his quirks Sheldon did stand out.  However with it being the ‘Sheldon Show’ now his quirks get really old pretty quick.  Also watching ‘Young Sheldon’ makes me dislike old Sheldon more for being such an asshat, because ‘Young Sheldon’ seems to support there is nothing wrong with Sheldon mentally, he is just an extremely smart self important asshat.

I don't disagree with you. I can't and will not comment on "Young Sheldon", 'cause I'm not interested in it anyway. But for me the level of TBBT has actually become very low down since now more than 4 seasons. From the pov of Lenny fans (e.g.), 4-5 minutes of happy excitement are obviously a revelation. How pitiful that is, is up to everyone to decide. Otherwise, as mentioned above, the Sheldon Show continues.

I agree!  They will never believe that the ratings are going down because there's too much Sheldon/SHAMY>

Logically if ratings go down it well be Jim Parsons fault. Because he has majority of the screen time. But I am not even saying that is true either.

The show has been creatively dead for four seasons now. This is no shock. IT is just Sheldon Cooper's Adventures and his Friends now. While Leonard and Penny have been toned down some what. And far better then the past 3 seasons. Which is why some prefer Holland over Moloro. Because he writes Lenny more akin to IC. But storylines or Screen time has not changed all that much with them.

They actually have less screen time then last season, if you could beleive. Sheldon's screen time has actually sky rocketed. Mostly due to the Young Sheldon Prequel. The mothership show just seems now like a marketing platform to promote the other show now. Watch Sheldon when he is an adult, then watch him when he is a little asshat. I see some are tired of the "manchild" Sheldon. And some tired of Leonard and Penny sitting around doing nothing, and being relatively happy lol. But ratings are still strong, so they have no reason to change anything do they.

I love Sheldon. He has always been my favorite character along with Walowitz. Leonard is extremely boring in my eyes. Very milk toast. I prefer stronger personalities. I realize that not everyone feels the same. And that is ok...

It's not been a Shamy-heavy season really. It'll be time for a Shamy plotline by the time 11:11's broadcast. We've had Raj and Howard plots. Leonard's radio gaff was only one episode. Leonard and Howard had a little time in the sun last week. We should have a proper Lenny-focussed one, even if they only go out to dinner. Not a lot of hope there, I suspect. When they're all married, as we were saying two years ago, perhaps the couples will all get equal time.

I do not share your opinion. The reason I dislike Sheldon mainly, is because he's an asshole. Howard I'm OK with, because even if he has his quirks, he's still good hearted. Leonard I like best because he's a good person, and because I liked his story with Penny since S1 up to halfway S7. That being said, even if Sheldon was my favorite character I would not be happy with the direction the show has taken. Too much of a "good thing" can actually be too much. Furthermore while Shamy is not my ship by any stretch of the imagination, I'd prefer if it was written better, and had a better balance between Sheldon and Amy.

Yes ! I enjoy Sheldon too(perhaps  less now compared to  earlier). Jim Parsons' unique iconic Emmy  winning comic potrayal is one of the things that set tbbt apart from a lot of other average rom coms about nerd/hot girl cliches  for me.  i agree they have overused him now,  but i always felt season 10 should have been the end anyway.

Well, I disagree with you to some extent. Some of the most (IMO), well written , well acted and my personal favorite episodes and scenes have focussed on Sheldon like Opening Night Excitation, Adhesive Duck Deficiency, the Napkin hug or the Schrodinger's cat scene. Im sure there are other examples. It is about the writing.  And Lenny getting more time doesn't necessarily mean it has to be good for all viewers-like, i am not a fan of the convention storyline or their fight in guitarist amplification. Like you said,  how pitiful that is , is up for everyone to decide . And everyone may not necessarily watch the show only for Lenny.

Also, Sheldon had a lot of screen time in seasons 2-3 as well  . Infact i think Sheldon/Penny even had more or almost comparable alone - time to Leonard/Penny. I feel Sheldon became the break out character early on. Good for those who liked him, pity for those who don't is all i can say.

(Personally im not even watching season 11 regularly,  i felt season 10 should have been it....)

In my humble opinion, you can't really compare screen time in the early seasons with these later seasons because the cast is two more people now days.

FOUR if you count Stewart and Bert and FIVE if you count Raj's various girlfriends.

Oh, I agree with you. Lenny was just an example. I just have the feeling of supersaturation from the eternal Sheldon and his unique position, detached from the rest of the characters.

Will if you like a selfish manchild who puts down and insult his Friends and their choice of Women and is mean and cruel to his Girlfriend than I guess he your guy. Though he not as bad as he was in earlier seasons he still has a lot of improving to do.

I wish Amy was not so weak sometimes and not such a  Doormat to Sheldon, But I guess we can blame her Mother for that.  She had more of a backbone in season 6 and 7 then she does now.

I like that you said that because I’ve be trying to come up with some words to describe what is wrong with the show now and Sheldon being detached from the other characters is a good way to describe it.  The last episode was a very good example of that, I think Sheldon has become very detached from his old friends and is becoming that way with Amy too.  Maybe he is trying to break his bonds with humans before he is picked up by the mother ship and leaves our little planet, but seriously the character does seem to becoming more detached from the rest of the characters.

I would not blame Jim Parson I blame writers and Producers. Jim has n control over how much screen time he does and doesn't get.  his Emmy Award Winning Days have long been over I agree.

Personally it could have ended after season 7 for me. Seasons 8. 9. 10 were a waiste of time as far as I'm concerned

Exactly! If they had ended in S7 I'm sure they could have made 24 kick ass episodes in which we could have had a proper Lenny wedding, Shamy engagement/wedding, a much better resolution of the living arrangements, and the agony that is Raj wouldn't have been so prolonged.
