Same here. Last wedding I attended was a weekend thing, as it was one of my cousins wedding and it is family tradition from my father side of the family as the wedding happen on Saturday and on Sunday the groom and bride have lunch on their place  with all guests. Not many chances of elopments, lol! Family enjoys the party after!

Where I live it's not even legally possible to elope, you have to make some bureaucratic stuff before you get married and you have to wait some weeks after you fill all there papers for the actual ceremony to happen, so it's not like you wake up in the morning and say "Well, I think today I'm gonna get married!", as it happens on the show...That, obviously, assuming what we saw in the show is legally accurate, I don't really count on that, LOL!

In England it's closer to 14 minutes !   If it's in a church with hymns, prayers and a sermon, the kind Shamy don't want, it's more like 40 minutes.  Anyone can attend the service. A reception takes perhaps two hours depending on how long the speeches are and how long it takes to serve the food, how long it takes to eat the food and chat to relatives you haven't seen for years etc. It can drag out for longer of course, especially if there's a bar and if it's free to guests. If there are children there they might be taken off to play somewhere if it goes on for too long.  I have never been to one where there's dancing at the reception. The party usually breaks up when the happy couple have changed into their going away outfits and are waved off on their honeymoon. 

Sometimes there is an additional do in the evening mainly for younger people, which might include extra guests who weren't invited to the afternoon do. This could be a disco where there is dancing and so on. Shamy have dancing on their list, I see. There was dancing at the one Amy took Leonard to.  The couple might attend if they haven't yet gone away. Not everybody has one of those. It depends on if there's a big family or a lot of young ones.

How do you know they hadn't eloped six months before the wedding you attended and not told anyone at the time ?

Yes it is legally accurate some states have a residency requirement (you have to have lived in the state a certain amount of time) but Nevada (Vegas) dosent.

Here in Georgia you can get the license at a judges office and he can immediately marry you. Takes like 15 minutes total if your the only couple there at the time

In California they can get married the day they get the licence. They can even do it there and then. The licence lasts 90 days. Shamy will need another one in March if they are really waiting until June. 

Traditionally, the idea of elopement meant a couple would run away because there was something preventing a marriage in the normal way if they stayed at home. They would go to where parental consent wasn't needed, or whatever other rule didn't apply. For instance, In UK the minimum age for marriage is sixteen but there was a time when consent from parents was required if the couple were under 21 unless they were overruled by a magistrate - or lived in Scotland. Teenagers would elope from England to the nearest parish across the border, Gretna Green. Many were disappointed to find they couldn't be married there and then.  If they were lucky they could find somewhere to stay for three or four weeks to establish residence and go through the formalities of  the time requirement between applying for the certificate and getting the ceremony performed. Supposedly once upon a time the blacksmith did it. Gretna Green is still a popular place for weddings. Underage elopements are less common now, partly because the age in England was reduced to 18 and partly because they tend to worry less about being married before they get sexual.

Because as @mirs1 said not be possible in her country to elope, here happens the same.

It's normal in England to have the two weddings separately here too. Generally, it's legally required if the religion is anything other than Church of England. In some cases a registrar ( that may be what Americans call Justice of the Peace ? ) attends the non-CofE wedding if the couple want to have only one wedding. CofE parish priests are registrars so a separate civil ceremony isn't required.  Other ministers could become registrars if they wanted to, I suppose. I once knew a Methodist minister who was one. ( You don't have to be a believer to be married in a Church of England church as it's the established Church of the country and all the public are allowed to make use of it. An atheist who thinks a country church looks pretty can get married in it.) 

It wouldn't have bothered me, so long as Amy got her cliff-top tiara wedding anyway, whether the Coopers had gone through with the city hall ceremony or not. They may do it yet. A 'proper' do as well as, rather than instead of, a courthouse wedding, would have suited me too. I have friends who are Seventh-Day Adventist, Greek Orthodox, Hindu, Sikh, Muslim and Pentecostal who have been married in two different places, not to mention one of our CofE lay preachers who got married in Africa and the old ladies in the church wouldn't let him get away without another wedding in our church, so I'm used to it.

Lenny had I would say a sub-plot since it did feel a little shorter than 2 other ones, but it might feel different in the aired episode. Leonard's brother sent them a Christmas card and Leonard was annoyed that his brother was (unintentionally) bragging about all his achievements this year and he tried to think up of all the cool things he and penny did this year but he could think of nothing. He was really bothered by that but penny wasn't, she was like - 'we're happy, what r you worried about?'

 

I might post a bigger TR later if I have time but I don't have a great memory

 

PS dear Lennies, if ur not happy with the Lenny part PLEASE don't take it out on me : * 

Also I will say this Lenny part sounded cute , funny and totally fine.

Shamy part was super sweet, they were gonna elope but then once in the city hall Sheldon was like 'no, I wanna do it right , I want a proper wedding'

Raj stopped talking to Howard cause he felt Howard kept dragging his confidence down for 15 years 

 

Lenny had kinda a short plot when Raj was confinding with them about Howard Leonard was kinda on his side and penny on Howard's. It's ok , no big deal and no fight, they were ok

ps Running away from WB wi fi so no time to edit but I will say I got it a bit wrong.

i think in episode 11 Lenny had a decent third plot, maybe it was a tiny bit shorter than the other two but it did feel like a 3 plots episode

 

Episode 10, there it felt like Lenny had a sub-plot and it was more if a 2 plot episode

I'm not asleep but I'm still out with friends since it's my last night in LA so I can't talk much!

 

Shamy supposedly have off screen coitus yes. After they're feeling better after the food poisoning they go to Halleys birthday party. Everyone goes inside the house except them, they see a ?bouncy castle? (English is not my native language) that Howard and raj built for Halley's party and I think they suggest having sex there? But then they're like let's just jump there and find a spare bedroom lol : O

 

I found it a lil bit OOC but still awesome!!

 

Also someone asked - penny  was in pijamas for Lenny's last scene. It was supposedly morning, she went out to the kitchen and saw that Leonard stayed up all night trying to fill up the list with all the fun things / achievements they did that year. After that they talk and decide to do a daily trip to ?catalina island?. But it gets interrupted with halley's birthday party 

 

I'm really sorry guys I don't have time today and tmw is my flight . If I have some time I'll write more tmw or if not after I get back home (still a 13 hour flight without internet).

 

I know somebody went who might share the TR but I don't think they'll do it.

Once their names are called in the city hall Sheldon has a change of heart and says no Amy , I want a real first dance with you (earlier in the episode he was really against it ). He said the odds of him finding her were less than odds of scientists discovering dark matter yet he found her. There was a lot of sweet Shamy sciency/ romantic talk , I loved that scene

And I'm not saying every decision is a result of market studies.  But they do them.  The Simpson's Episdoe about Poochie was a fantastic satire of the practice.

I'm sorry to hear that you didn't get in last week, especially since you don't live there but happy you got in this week and hope you had a blast.

I'm wondering why do they bring up Lenny not doing much but being happy thing again. Is it a message for viewers (me among them) saying they are stagnant? Is it foreshadowing something? Maybe to clarify that whenever they do take a step forward (whatever it is, buying a house, having a baby... and whenever it is) it is because they really want to and not because they are trying to avoid facing problems or to fill their lives? They kind of did something like that with Pennny's job - before they got married she got a job where she was making a lot of money, thus refuting claims she was marriying him for money...
