Perhaps if people would accept the difference between the terms quantitative and qualitative this discussion would die. Maybe?

Spoon feeding makes no difference here.

I think this group of creators and actors created something really unique. Conversations are based on a kind of humour that I really like. Delivery by all main actors was fantastic.
But the dynamics and writing have changed (for mostly worse). They seem to be writing in segments for couples now instead of lending to the group dynamic. The magic of the show has mostly been group interaction. Now, with all the coupling, that has diminished. I kinda feel like they used to be characters, but now they're caricatures.
I've forgot to mention one important thing for me. Many people seem to pay most attention to a main plot. They look forward to wedding episodes, etc. For me those "breakthrough" moments are often one of the least funny. For me the main plot should be just a skeleton to keep the show consistent and going on.
But the Sheldon Show kinda ruined this comedy for me.

I totally agree with your post. Even if I were a Sheldon (or Shamy) fan which I'm not it would bother me how inconsistently they've been written. I wished the show had wrapped by end of S7 or 8 at the most since it would have made much more sense from a story point of view , IMO. It is hard to recognize what was once a great show.

"Killing the show"? Some death!

Most shows would LOVE to have TBBT's ratings in ANY year, let alone the 11th year.

I don't think it really matters if a show is in it's 1st or 20th season. Good ratings are good ratings. When SRAM said "killing the show" , I believe he was talking from an artistic integrity, and overall story point of view, but you better ask him. If that's the case I totally agree with him, since I believe that the quality of the show now a days is mostly crap, and I prefer the quality of the writing of the earlier seasons.

I'm a little confused since in a previous post you implied exactly that, that the amount of viewers was a measure of the amount of viewers but also of how good the show still is.

When did I say that, which post?

One of the earliest downloads I watched on a computer was an interview with the cast of Frasier. Among the things they talked about was the time Bill Gates made a guest apperance. They were making fun of him : how he'd taken acting lessons and what a waste they were because he hadn't done it very well. I didn't see anything wrong with the part he played, which was himself. I hope the BBT cast are kinder to him as he makes another appearance in a comedy after all these years.

Sounds like another one of those 'member of the gang works with or is in contact with someone famous and the rest are dying to meet the person' episodes which the premise you know has been done before on this show. The old school train continues.

Would be interesting if it was an actual Penny storyline but it sounds like it won't be, the focus will be on the guys.

Unfortunately you are probably right. I'm picturing Sheldon really getting involved.

The focus will be sheldon, where all the guys want to meet bill but penny says no, including to her husband and then sheldon is the one that gets to meet him because you know, he pulls some sad story and as usual Penny buckles under. After all, it is the Sheldon Show and it's funny.

Well, you never know. They did let him get hurt in Episode 10/9. That was hilarious and maybe they will let Bill Gates do it on screen this time. All we got was Raj telling Pryia about when it happened. It would be nice to actually see it happen.  kolobok_sarcastic_hand.gif
I would luv it. [emoji16] if it happens I will watch that episode, just to see it. And put the scene on a loop. Lol

Yeah, that sounds about right.

That is what I thought as well.

Why not? Just think of how much fun to hear and watch Sheldon complain about being inconvenienced. That never gets old, as well as Penny threatening physical harm on him. Maybe this will be the reason Lenny searches for a nice house in a gated community with nice schools nearby.  :icon_wink:

Yeah, I know this probably won't happen til the Series Finale!

I think they might end up leaving in next door houses haha Sorry but it's a comedy, I don't see a perfect future there and them sharing a fence could be funny (I imagine Sheldon asking for stuff and Penny just throwing them over the fence, which would drive Sheldon crazy).

Oh god I hope not. Penny and Leonard would need to get a Pit Bull or two and a talking bird. That bird could irritate the hell out of Sheldon while the dogs will scare him so, so much  :sarcastichand:

In Sheldon's case I think a pigeon would be enough

I wonder if Kaley and Bill Gates has run in to each other at any horse show because his daughter Jennifer competes in horse shows as well.

Bill Gates' daughter Jennifer visited Kaley on the BBT set. I guess the episode with Gates is the one taped tonight. :icon_wink:

The discussion thread is open again. Please stop the petty squabbling.

Arguing over which characters "TPTB" care about, or don't, is a tedious debate which only ever leads to back and forth attacks. Nobody can "win" such a debate, but those who play that game end up trying desperately not to lose.

Stop it.

If the series ends without a spin-off this would seem the most natural ending.  The Hofstedter’s buy a house and Sheldon moved in next door.  Or the apartment building goes coop and they each buy units.

It can end this way even if they do have a(nother) spin-off. IDK if they'll make another spin-off though, they already have Young Sheldon.
