Your entitled to any point of view you want. I was just simply stating Jennifer was named the sexiest woman on tv history. I am not sure I have ever seen a horse face. But I know Rachel was kinda like the girl next door, she was my first crush in the 90s. Before Kaley hahah.

That's  my belief as well. Kayley and Jennifer both are great at their facial movements to show their emotions.

I didn't like TBBT at first because I wasn't interested in another version of a nerdy guy salivating after a big busted bleached blond. I'd seen that too many times.

LOL.

I was never into comic books and John Carter or Tarzan but it fits. Don't know all the comics they got into.

To me you can have the guys plan a bachelor party for Sheldon without involving Sheldon until step 10.  You can have friends buy/make them gifts without holding court in 4b.     And I love Sheldon/Leonard, and some Penny/Sheldon and Penny/Amy is okay.   All I am looking forward to at this wedding is scenes with Leonard and his mom, Sheldon’s mom, and if they can come with an excuse for it -Leonard’s  dad.

Absolutely. I  got engaged in January and my fiance and I will start some wedding planning of our own  :girlinlove: !  dress shopping and having a bachelorette might be the only things that appeal most to me right now. The rest of the "planning" stuff, is boring, stereotypical and banal to me LOL, especially in sitcoms. Sitcoms also usually drag weddings out for the entire season between proposal and  wedding ugh. I am not interested in guest stars  though Beverly might be happy to attend Sheldon's wedding. They will probably bring Amy's parents.  Actually there is a lot of organizing friends/family can do without directly involving bride and groom at every step(a way to use the other characters).

To be fair what was different about Leonard desiring Penny. IS that Penny was into Leonard too. I saw it different because I grew up on 80's movies. With the Nerd into the guy, who is dating a Jock. And end of the movie, the Blonde realizes the Nerd was in front of her all along! What I liked about TBBT. Is how they shaked Socities expectations and conventions on its head.

We see it differently. I see Leonard with this wish to be the comic book hero but the reality is he is really still a nerd and his prize is actually rather moody and difficult a lot of the time. Hence the She settled jokes that you and others dislike. They are still two parallel tracks with virtually no intersections; nothing much in common. The writers have given in to expectations. Well except with Howard who has defied all expectations and Sheldon who is much less like a robot. Leonard got the girl but now what.

you described Jenifer Aniston that way? I really laughed my tail off on that point.

It would be very boring if everyone liked the same things.

I was wondering if the shamy wedding would be their opportunity for tptb to bring some of the characters from young sheldon to tbbt

If there was ever a time to do it, this is it. But I hope not. if they do, I hope it's not excessive.

Maybe, maybe not. There would probably a lot less tension and arguments. I look at a an American Beauty Rose and see the utter beauty enclosed in the flower. Others, just see the thorns! That's life, different views for different folks.

TV history needs to stand the test of time. Maybe she will and maybe she won't. But every year someone else is called the sexiest person. Some I can understand and some I can't. But that's just me.

I hate red roses, but it's because my grandmother died two days before my 12th birthday and the wake was on my birthday and the casket and side sprays were made with tons of red roses. I sat there all  night in the front row of the parlor smelling them and having people come up and say, "Happy birthday. Isn't this awful?" I know it's ridiculous but I can never appreciate roses to this day. My husband, bless his heart, knows this story and never sends me roses. I've tried for years to get past it but whenever I see them I remember that night even though I know how silly it is.

I know how you feel, my grandmother loved Carnations. On her casket was a spray of beautiful pink and white Carnations. Whenever I see or smell them I think of that time and my grandmother. As I said she loved Carnations, so I try not to take it out on the flower. Some of the time I have a heated "talk" with the fellow upstairs. I probably have a lot to answer for, that I know. :icon_wink:

Olfactory memory is a powerful thing. Conscious thought can have a tough time overcoming it. It's not a requirement of life to like roses and it's natural to protect oneself against distress. There's nothing silly aout that.

1. She is not a prize but a person, hence she has her own problems. Leonard loves her in spite of them.

2. I don't think Lenny are so so so different. IMO, they have a similar attitude towards other people, they also have a very similar sense of humor, and when you look behind Penny's cool girl act she can be quite insecure and she does think ahead even if she appears not to because this thinking ahead makes her retreat. I won't go into elaborate posts now as I simply don't have time, I've also written about this various times before. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, this is mine.

Tell Leonard that, it was only last season he held court with his young nerdlings recounting how he managed to end up with her. Like some kind of trophy.

If I remember correctly, They asked him how he managed to have a woman as beautiful as Penny and he told them. I guess he was proud of what happened. Any nerd who was accepted and married by a beautiful woman would. He doesn't consider her a trophy wife, just someone he never dreamed he had a shot with. That's a whole lot different than your interpretation.

I agree. The nerdy guys weren't there to hear the 10 year version of how Lenny got together. Leonard kind of gave them what they wanted to hear.

Agreed  - she is a person, but many people who get what or whom they most desire in life feel as though they have won a prize. Leonard ran a tough race in the face of stiff competition. In the end, fortunately, Penny too had the intelligence to know a good thing when she saw it.

Penny is depicted as ignorant sometimes - but she’s not stupid.
Ignorance is curable. Stupidity is not. There's an important difference. Credit to the writers for walking that fine line. :shy:

I really hated that, and there have been other few examples of this kind of behavior, but I see it as an exception. I don't think Leonards sees her or treats her as a trophy (he does think getting with her was a great accomplishment but he mostly treats her respectfully, as a person).

ETA: I also don't think Penny thinks she settled, even though she makes/goes with these jokes. There have been instances when her real feelings were revealed and it turned out she is scared to lose him and thinks he might trade her for a smarter woman.

I think he is proud of himself for her agreeing to marry him and be with him. But at the same time he is respectful and loving towards her. He's proud of her accomplishments and personal growth. I just wish the writers would let him defend her more against Sheldon and the gangs cutting remarks. Then again, she does defend herself against them just fine.
