Coming from a guy I miss the era when Penny wore skimpy tops. I am a guy after all LOL. But I don't think it would be all that appropriate or for lack of a better word accurate. I gathered she wore those type of clothes to flaunt herself for other guys. But the episode in Season 9 The Sales Call Sublimation. Perfectly illustrates why I find it very realistic her clothing sense has evolved over the years. Her body is for her husbands eyes only now. That is not to say I love the Plaid shirts. The Plaid budget on that show must rival the tank top budget ha. I like seeing Penny dressed like this

I mean lets be honest this is now a show about Young Student Professionals.

Have to agree with you   Like I said she looks good in anything

Here's why there's the 5th fIoor as a set for the next episode

Any scoop on what will transpire on The Big Bang Theory this spring? —Mario
Although it seems as if Leonard, Penny, Sheldon and Amy are the only residents of their multi-story, elevator-challenged apartment building, the fact is they do have other neighbors. And we’ll meet a few of them in an upcoming episode. “Sheldon and Leonard are vying for the head of the Tenants’ Association,” showrunner Steve Holland teases of the plot. “And Leonard has to go knock on some apartment doors to do some politicking.”

About time.

Sarcasim?

I am glad they are finnally adressing the Tenacy issue at Cal Tech. Dropped since Season 6. I am pretty certain the writers won't allow Leonard to get Tenure over Sheldon though.

Hmm I am not sure I agree. Prob last think the show needs right now. Reminds me when Simpsons started having tons of guest stars. Bill Gates I am fine with.

IF they are planning on cameos of Neighbors be fun. But not sure.

You were the second wave.  I go back to Tactic II, Blitzkrieg, Gettysburg, D-Day, Africa Corp, Midway, Jutland (I even made the correct size movement and range finder).   Then they started the bookcase games, but by then, I was into miniatures and monster games.  Interesting thing about Arab-Isralie wars,  sometime in 1992, they created a scenario, in The General, where you could play Desert Storm.   After almost thirty years (at that time) of playing these games, I had to get the scenario I was in.

Desert storm? That is so stereotypical and innacurate LOL Like saying everyone in Israel ride camels or something like that

By the way, sometime in 1992 I was born :icon_cheesygrin:

Regarding Penny's clothing: In the very first episodes they made her more into a young airhead, the clothing were matched to that stereotype. As she grew and changed as a character (Would people call her airhead today? Probably not even stupid) her clothing became more reasonable and realistic to the character. Coming from a warm country, I don't have problem with short clothes, and they're definitely not always or only worn to draw men. But I don't find it realistic that a character like Penny is now or since about season 2 would wear such short clothes when it's not even summer and the 4A thermostat is set at 72.

I agree with almost everything you said. I do believe that seeing Leonard without the infamous hoodie, the thermostat has been raised. The other point in difference is Sheldon has no problem calling her stupid still. Not as often though. But then, he believes everyone is stupid compared to him.

More than likely all the tenants prefer Leonard over Sheldon. :icon_surprised:

I've not seen Neighbours for years. Is Harold still lodging with Mrs Mangle ?

More guests do not add to TBBT! There's 7 to 9 cast members, if you add Bert and Stuart to the equation. It's hard enough finding time in a episode for 7, and you want more guest. Maybe they should shoot an episode solely with guests and the cast can have the week off. In case you didn't catch it like our friend Sheldon, that's sarcasm!

I have no problem with guests if they actually do something. I'd rather have an ep where the cast does something all together, but they have to have storylines that cause the characters to interact with others occasionally. It just depends on how it's done whether I like it or not. Especially if they are not going in the direction recent interviews indicate they are not going in. Mrs. Gunderson wasn't in the show for more than a couple of minutes but she was funny and memorable.

I am totally missing this. I must go back and see where this is discussed. I would like to see that handled.

I don't see the need for seeing the "neighbors". We've gone 10 and a half years and seen maybe 4 or 5 neighbors and we know at least 2 of those have moved on. This is just a ridiculous excuse to find something to write about since their other ideas must have been crap. Maybe the Shamy wedding planning was getting too boring for them.

What nine years is Holland talking about? Amy has only been introduced in the last chapter of season 3, that would make it 8 years at best.

Not to mention that they didn't get to be Shamy till later , so that would be season 4. So... yeah they can't count.

Most of my favorite episodes have had great guest stars. I like to see our TBBT characters interact with the wider world. The show needs variety.

The show's ending. The writers seem to have thrown in the towel. Wasting time planning a wedding when none was done for the other weddings and they were just as important. Guest take air time from the other 5 cast members, as Sheldon and Amy will obviously have their time. The entire cast has earned the time to have longer air time, not just Sheldon and Amy. Variety is definitely not needed by guests, just the cast. They're being paid good money to be in the episodes, let them earn it.

I have loved Bob Newhart as Sheldon's Obi-Wan.

James Earl Jones was a highlight of the series.

I often often enjoy Beverly, Mary, Wil, Barry and Burt.

It was fun to see Elon Musk and Steve Wozniak. It was kind of cool to have Stephen Hawking on the series.

Sometimes they squander the opportunities with the guests. What they did with Nathan Fillion was a big disappointment.

I think they have been a bit poor since 10.1. The parents and brother, Christopher Lloyd, Newhart making another appearance, Raj's love triangle earlier with two guest stars. Not been of the quality of guest star appearances in the past. But I wouldn't say that was necessarily down to their performance, some of the material they have had to work with hasn't been as good.

Anyway my guess would be no big names for this upcoming episode with neighbors and that might not be a bad thing. The guest stars will be there to add to the story, not dominate it.

We have all been watching this series for a long time. We like what we like and it is not necessarily going to be the same for me and you. The cast has earned big fat paychecks not earned time slots on any given episode.
