Regarding Jim having to come in twice because he was “too good. Maybe, but the bottom line is he had to come in and do it again in order to get the job..  And Kaley auditioned three times because she was  not right for the part as they originally conceived of it, not because she wasn’t good.

Any bets on the finalie? Do you think they well do the Shamy wedding on the 23rd or the 24th episode? Maybe good on the penultimate episode. Then a Finalie thats less predictable. But well see. Penny pregnancy scare? Maybe.

Could also be 11×24 and 12×01, like Lenny's re-do.

Yeah maybe. They can fit in Penny throwing up ala is she pregnant in their too. 12x01 could be the aftermath of Shamys wedding, and everything that went on.

I highly doubt that we will get a Penny pregnancy scare in the finale to be honest, I really don't think the writers are so creative to write in a pregnancy plot for Penny in Shamy's wedding scene, You could be right about Shamy's wedding being over two episodes.

Why not? They have been teasing Penny being pregnant all season. SO many hints. SO it is not outside the realm of possiblity.

You're totally right there has been many hints about a pregnancy but I'm guessing the writers treat this just like Penny's job situation, they leave a few hints and then they just drop it.

Because they have been saying it's unlikely in many interviews lately. I still hope they would change their minds but I don't want to set myself for disappointment.

I'm a Shamy and I really want to see it concluded in one episode, no desire whatsoever to see it stretched out over the summer.

I wouldn't want that either, but I think it's likely that it will be two episodes, either 11X23-11X24 or 11X24-12X01.

Apart from introducing some kind of drama (ugh at that prospect!) I don't see why it needs to cover two episodes in all honesty. Family drama has been done before on this show at a wedding, so it's nothing new. I guess cold feet is an option but again I really think that wouldn't go down well with parts of the fanbase. Drama could involve someone else in the gang but I don't see why it should stretch the wedding beyond one episode.

Perhaps because of the important status of the groom? :shy:

Simple, they could do a "Friends twist" at the wedding.

So to the Lenny fans, Penny would be pregnant. And......bonus would be Lenny interrupting Shamy's big day.

To the Shamy fans, drama would involve other people than Sheldon and Amy themselves.

Everybody is gonna be happy, no?

Not really, no.

It could be a smokescreen, but I believe Holland when he says no more pregnancy storylines for a while. My guess is probably middle of season 12 or with say 10 or 8 episodes to go they might change their mind.

I understand that decision but also wonder if they have picked up on something that has cemented their decision to not do another similar story so soon? Like I said before they know their audience and have ways. I did see more complaints on social media about a second pregnancy this season, but that's social media and I don't know how representative that is of the fandom as a whole.

I believe the complaints were that it was Howardette having a second child so soon. Hey, maybe we can have a "Dallas" redo with Howard waking up and realizing the second pregnancy was just a dream.  :sarcastichand:

Harry Truman's brother's name was Vivian.

Spencer Tracy's brother was Carroll.

Times change.

And celebrities names change, and often. Yes  John Wayne's real name was Marion and for another one, Hulk Hogan's real name was Terry. Both of those could be girl's names now.

For some more interesting switches made to make them more mainstream, Kirk Douglas' real name was Issur. Chevy Chase's real name is Cornelius, Ben Kingsley's real name is Krishna. Alan Alda was Alphonso. Michael Caine was Maurice. Rock Hudson was Leroy. Gene Simmons was Chaim. Cary Grant was Archibald. You could go on forever with celebrities who changed their names.

Because Steve Holland has spoken out against it, and recently. They could change their mind but I don't expect them to change it that fast. Although I could be wrong.

I think Holland was speaking to hear himself talk. Besides, he's not gonna let anything out of the bag. He just might want there to be a surprise or two.

We'll see, but it wouldn't surprise me in this case if he was telling the truth. I would not trust these writers any farther than I could throw them to do this and do it well.

We can only hope that he and his writers get their heads out of their butts and do the right thing. That's our smart and beautiful babies.

With all that foreshadowing this season especially with comments it shouldn't be a surprise if they change their mind and do it.

Holland says we have had 2 seasons of pregnancy storylines or developments but its's actually 3, considering the first starting pregnancy became known and started having an impact in Season 9. So if we get another pregnancy storyline it would mean 4 seasons in a row of it, perhaps that would be overkill?

It makes sense from a character standpoint of where their lives are that more of them having children is a possibility, so if they decide to then that's fine I can buy into it. I can't see myself becoming too invested in it and I think they will have difficulty trying to create some different sitcom storylines or themes for it a third time.

I'll probably get flamed for it (putting my fire resistant suit on) but I think a Sheldon dealing with fatherhood is a more interesting storyline because of his character and having to deal with the prospect of fatherhood. The fear for example of having a child that might be like him and having to deal with the social issues he has faced (he has become more aware of his issues over the years) would make for a really interesting story.

But I am taking Holland's word for it, no more babies in the near future :)

No flaming here. We each have our own opinions. Personally Leonard trying to be a dad would be more interesting considering his own childhood with "Beverly".
