[Spoilers] Season 11 Discussion Thread

The actors woulden't know about spoilers anyway. Unless the writers told them. They don't write the show. Like Jim said their role is to take the contribution form the writers.

I don't think the show thinks Amy's parents are that important. Sheldons family seems more of a precedence. End of the day Amy is a supporting character. That is just the way it is. Same with Bernadette she is supporting Howard.

You saw Bernie's parents

Sorry @nusspot, I meant no harm with my spontanious insert. I was still under the impression of the panel, which was very enjoyable for me. It showed me just the refreshing solidarity of the "troupe" around my favourite comedy series and verified me again why I still like watching TBBT.

It was a nostalgia trip, some may like that but others wanted them to talk about the future especially with a finite number of episodes left. I've lost count how many audition stories I have heard or read, what their favorite episodes or scenes are over the years and that they don't watch their work. It was pointless, it was nothing new.

I know. It's all a simple question of expectations. :shy:

Considering they suddenly brought up her father out of nowhere after all these years and then mentioned him further I think it's a reasonable expectation that they would a) end up being asked questions about it and b- they should have some answers. Their daughter is about to get married, they exist and are not dead so they should be there, it would be odd if they aren't.

If they don't make an appearance I am going to be mega pissed off with this show, but this season has been rather shite IMO so maybe that's just something to cap it all off and cement my opinion of what I think of Holland's first season in charge.

I agree, anyway, that, as an Amy fan, it's very underwheIming the writers ignored muItipIe direct questions about the casting of her parents and, overaII, didn't seem to care.

Agreed and I don't think we are the only ones who feel that way.

Remember, It's the Sheldon Cooper Show, not The Shamy Show. It's all about Sheldon, that don't include the woman he is to marry.

Couldn't agree more. The panel was a disappointment from start to finish, but that's not the point. The producers were asked multiple times (both by Jessica and the audience) about Amy's family, but they pretended not to hear that part of the question. Because obviously Sheldon is the only one involved in the wedding. They pretty much confirmed all his family will be there, but what about Amy's? Nobody knows. No respect for the character or the fans that care about that character.

Her entire family will be hospitalised by  a gas leak and Stuart will have to give her away.

You saw Bernie's Dad. Howard only had an unseen Mom. You are gonna see Sheldon's brother because of Young Sheldon.

agreed. I miss why people are upset over this. Lenny fans IMO should be more upset about Kaley's comment about Lenny shouldn't have kids. Granted she doesn't write the show.

I think both Johnny and Kaley were clearly against having a baby. But as you said, they don't write the show.

I think Kaley clearly was. Johnny seemed on the fence. Again JMO more of a story than Amy's parents.

George is the wrong side. Wil could do it.

I'd prefer Will, he and Sheldon have better chemistry. :icon_wink:

Yeah, I think Johnny was more against having babies on stage with them.

I'm betting we see a better attitude than what she showed at Lenny's wedding. Probably no exasperated sigh of indifference.

I found hiyysterical how the cast shot down any talk of babies on set and how Kaley called the idea of invisible kids ''brilliant'', expecially because the moderator  has been very vocal in her wish to actually see howardette's children. That being said, none of them write the show, and Kaley herself recognized it, as she said Holland ''Maybe it's in the next script'' referring to lenny having a child.

Good idea. There's no reason it has to be a man and it would annoy Mary so she'd be happy to step in.

I’ve watched the recording from PF twice now and considered the following part.
After Jessica's comment about the realistic representation of Bernadette's pregnancy, there was a strange silence in the audience. That seemed to me a significant sign, why the writers will not let any further "preggy"-stories arise in the future of the show. Also the following conversation about kids on stage showed me the discomfort of continuing in this direction. But that’s just my observation on this matter.

That occurred to me as well.

My father gave my wife away.   Her father had died, and her mother didn't attend.  She could have had her brother do it, but she asked my father.

I think for the most part it's about the cast not wanting to work with babies. That would make their jobs harder...

Absolutely nothing - except for the different way each characters habits are depicted by writers and commentators.

Yeah... The episode with Leonard's walk of shame and Penny (dressed in sports wear) mocks him was kind of refereshing (and, perhaps, an under the surface social commentary), but things like that did not happen a lot.

You strongly implied it, by using the term "easy".   In the US (and parts of Europe) that is a derogatory term, used to try and shame people, who the user thinks, have too much sex, too many partners, or enjoy sex too much.  Now, if this is not what you meant, by all mean, give us your meaning of the usage.

And your exception means exactly what?   Penny and Leonard are depicted having quite a few partners, quite a lot of sex, and both seem to enjoy it.   What exactly is wrong with that depiction?  Is there something you believe is wrong with that?
