Penny and Leonard are depicted having quite a few partners, quite a lot of sex, and both seem to enjoy it.   What exactly is wrong with that depiction?

There's nothing wrong with a person (male or female), having  a lot of sex with a few partners. That being said, hopefully protection is used to refraim from catching or transferring the STD's. Now I believe that changes once that person is in a relationship , only in the different partners though. Lots of sex with the Significant Other is OK. :icon_wink:

Did you suddenly forget the gazillion discussions about Penny being slut shamed on the show or...??

I had this impression of Penny, that I believe the writers were trying to give off as an image and truth be told it was a successful one in my eyes anyway it was black and white and there was no shades of grey. Why they decided to do that you would have to ask the writers/creators.

Leonard not to the same degree but it was clear he was more successful with the opposite sex compared to the rest of the guys.

What does it matter? She was single, free and happy. I would feel the same way whether it was Leonard, Raj or god forbid Sheldon. I would say Howard, but I believe he was the male version of Penny, or was that Kripke? They both had an over zealous attitude to strippers and hookers. Bernadette seems to have changed Howard, but Kripke is still the ideal male slut.

Haven't forgotten it at all.   The show seems to think there is something wrong with a woman who want to have and enjoy sex, but doesn't seem to put that restriction on men.  I don't happen to agree with it, and I'll note that it is Amy and Sheldon who do most of the slut shaming (with a bit of Bernadette, who is a bit hypocritical about it, if the stories she tells are to be believed).   In this case, the post said there wasn't nothing wrong with it, but then put restrictions on it.  Just wondering if the restrictions indicated there was something wrong with Leonard and Penny enjoying lots of sex.

The slut shaming really started on Shamy's first date with Penny. Although you have to consider JMOthat more than one sexual partner would been a lot in the eyes of Sheldon and Amy.

Honestly, I'm not sure where you're stumbling here in the exchange between you two:

You: Is there something wrong about enjoying copious amounts of sex?  Is there something wrong with them being easy?

Cap Hilts: Absolutely nothing - except for the different way each characters habits are depicted by writers and commentators.

I mean, that's pretty straight forward. And then you agree that Penny has been slut shamed on the show while Leonard hasn't (And it wasn't only Shamy. It was everyone including Penny, plus some narrative choices that make "Penny has done it all" the punchline). Which is what Cap was talking about. Hope that clears it up.

Sorry, I don't see it as straight forward.  Absolutely nothing, followed by an "except" tells me there is an exception to the "absolutely nothing".  And the fact that we see it differently indicates it's not straight forward.  Do those depictions mean there is something wrong with it.  If not fine, and if so, why?

And I never said it was only Shamy, I said most of it was from Shamy and Bernadette.  There were others who did it also (including Penny).   But that still doesn't get back to the use of the word "easy" as if there is something wrong with lots of sex.  Another poster made that comment, not the show.

Happy for those that want to see Georgie and Missy but I honestly don't give a shit about seeing them.

The show is about Sheldon Cooper not about Amy. George is on to plug the other show. Missy was liked when on before. Guest stars in the past like MeeMaw and Penny's brother has been a flop. It seems to me to be safe no parents is better thandisliked parents

Either one would be interesting

Personal: I don't care. As long as it's consensual and nobody gets hurt by all means do what you want and how often you want to. Doesn't matter male or female.

Show: If you're female and you're too adventurous you'll get slut shamed - even ten years later we won't let you forget! If you're male and have all sorts of hook ups that's just fine and normal no matter how morally questionable those may be. You do you, buddy!! (I feel the reverse is true as well: If you're not super horny all the time something is wroooooong with you and we need to ridicule you at every turn!)

I read those posts, the vast majority were based on her appearance 'ZOMG she is so hot!!!', you know vacuous stuff like that.

Her accent was terrible and she had no personality from what I recall. I'm guessing she will be recast.

Well, the actress (and character for that matter) are a decade older now so I wouldn't mind giving her another shot.

To be honest, it was an almost hook up. Well, Raj did get something from it. Bring it up, no, although Raj has no problem bringing it up when it favors him. Even though he asked Penny not to talk about it. What a Quick draw!

And Sheldon's Mr. Personality?

Sheldon's personality: Robotic or human? :scratchhead:

LOL. The thing is Missy role was exaggerated to show her lack of intelligence compared to Sheldon. The actress herself has been on Mom and other shows so I'm not sure why they would recast her if she was on the finale.

She is a marvelous actress and down right purty to boot. A little red-neck there.
