JMO, but I sense an hour-long episode with all these guests stars. Then again Penny/Leonard ceremony was the standard 30 minutes and I think they cut a few scenes out.

Nah, we'll be lucky if it's 21 min including the opening! I expect it to be rather rushed, unless they really have the guests just sitting in the background doing nothing. lol

If some of those folks (like Sheldon’s brother) are in the next to last episode too, they may not say as much in the finale.  The Cal tech and comic crowd are likely filing up seats.  Although if RAj is crying at the end maybe something does happen with the girl.  The most intriguing  is Teller.  What the ???

Well,  that's at least one character where I'm reasonably certain he won't say much! lol

Teller has been BTS on set before (pics there at the link):

He's a friend of Prady's.

You missed the point. All I said is they write it in the story, where as the show writers seem to have forgotten how to do that.  The fanfiction writers seem to make it work, where as the show writers can't, or don't care to do it.

We had the guys talk about the bat signal just two episodes ago and they keep visiting the store. I'll give you the video games, the last one I remember was in season 10.

I think the crowd who watches the show now is less interested in the video games.

It don't matter to me. In case you didn't recognize that, It don't matter to me is a song performed by the group Bread. David Gates the lead singer.

To be fair to the writers: is there anything worthwhile in video games in recent years that would work for an episode?? Cause as much as the show has dabbled in nerdy references it's mostly stuff that's popular enough so the audience would recognise it to understand the joke.

Was there anything worthwhile in back to back years of pregnancy storylines. The show is a rom-com now.

The show was a rom com from the start. The pursuit of romance has been built into it right from the pilot.

Lenny was born in pilot so the romance has been since always part of the show.

Btw the babies too as Leonard  was the first  guy from the gang who thought of having  children.

Lenny technically didn't start until season 3 episode 1. Up until then they were just friends. Albeit very close friends, maybe even best friends. But, friends just the same.

Personally, I don't see the issue with relationship plots they tell now. Like, to me there isn't much of a difference from back in the day when the show was telling a ton of stories where the guys just tried to score women. It's the same thing, basically. Sure, back then they were all single and now most of them are coupled up - but the show always had these relationshippy standard sitcom scenarios.

Maybe one could fault the writers for decreasing the nerdy geek flavour of those stories but I guess there's just so much mileage you can get out of showing the same guys playing the same games for 10+ years. You gotta mix it up somehow and I can see they try but how satisfactory the end result feels is up to individual taste.

Absolutely! Well put !  I don't want to watch a show week after week in which four men slightly under forty bemoan their difficulties attracting and retaining women because they're scientists who like games. Even when they were all slightly under thirty it was getting a bit samey.

At least when the men get a bit nerdy now it's balanced by their womenfolk getting up to things. Imagine if there was no continuity of a women's group. Now we have a parade of one man's  different girl friends - or moans over their absence - nearly every week. If we had four I'd have lost patience by now.

You are basically talking about Raj. But, he has a girlfriend. She's named Cinnamon. :sarcastichand:

They dated before season 3 if my memory serves right. Technically as you said they started in s3 but the romantic feelings were there before. Which was my point as the crush Leonard had on Penny was one of the show topics in s1 and 2.

True. The rom part is more of the show now than the com part

I think that's going to be Mark Hamill.  I think Teller and Kathy Bates are Amy's parents.

Romance was one of the themes of the show. But it did not define its entire format. Like it did with HIMYM. Leonard was the only one in the first season pursuing Romance. But it was generally a show about four eggheads. And the hottie neighbor with all her Atoms in the right place. Shaking up their entire world. I am not saying that Romance was not part of the show. In Storylines. But to say TBBT has ever been a standard, predominant RomCom. I don't agree with. The show always broke down stereotypes and tropes. So guess some just miss the unique storytelling.

As for the Season Final. Did I see something about Luke Skywalker being one of the guests? I''ll say the Wedding well just be the backdrop to all the ova charcters interacting. And Maybe a Penny pregnancy scare.

Love It!! I wonder why they did not bring back Amy's original mom? I guess I can see Kathy Bates as her mom...all the fanfiction I read portrays her as bat-crap crazy. I could see Kathy Bates being the crazy version or something a bit more normal. Either way I am thrilled. Will be interesting to say the least.

My real prediction is that he'll marry Sheldon and Amy.

Maybe her crazy dress is something Star Wars themed.

How could Meemaw not be on her Moonpie's wedding???

Because the part was woefully miscast.  No fault of the actress but she was awful.
