I was only 16 when I first saw the original movie and I'm 57 now. Star Wars have a big world wide following. So, head blown and I have not see the episode yet. -----edit--- Thank you. Do you think he'll come as himself or play a part ? 10 hours ago, chucky said: Okay, that's easier for Stuart. He only has to babysit little Michael/Neil. Or come to the wedding to help keep them under control. I wonder if he'll pretend to be keeping Missy's younger (assuming she's had more after her first son ) children under control too ? 5 hours ago, JE7 said: You don't recognize Mark Hamill????? Nope. Sorry, 'fraid not. I gather thanks to D J Surrey that he's big to Sheldon and the others. I've never seen him in anything. I was expecting Tom Baker when I read about the tweet. I'm not sure that Tom Baker is even taking trips oversea anymore (I mean, if he did for this that sure would be mind blowing lol). There would have been a bigger chance to get Peter Capaldi or Matt Smith or David Tennant but on a whole DW doesn't have the same importance in the US as Star Wars. I gave it a brief try after Opening Night but couldn't get the hang of what it was about. I hadn't expected it to be a comedy and I gave up after about 15 or 20 minutes. Two robots landed on a planet or a moon or something and were quarrelling. I was totally lost by then, with no idea who the baddies and goodies were, nor who was on which side. I've downloaded some radio versions but have yet to listen to them properly. So many people have never seen Star Wars that the BBC has a radio series called 'I've Never Seen Star Wars' in which politicians, sport champions, writers, comedians etc are interviewed and are recorded doing things they've never done before. Yeah, but with the exception of the cast, those people in the stadium were probably film from a game. So they didn't have any lines to read. Technically they weren't there. The officiant Luke Skywalker is there for both of them as well to marry them. Sheldon has three family members - mom, brother and sister. Amy has two. A mom and a dad. To me this means Sheldon has one additional guest. I don't find it that lopsided at all. Wil Wheaton is not a mutual friend. Luke Skywalket is not a mutual Friend. All the others Amy knows because of Sheldon.

Gotta admit, I'd assume a show like this would attract an audience that has a first hand experience with most of the geeky/nerdy references they make cause, you know, understanding the jokes makes them funnier. But you do you. Not everything is for everyone, I guess.

This (in bold) is so truly accurate @joyceraye ! You have an understanding of the opening of A New Hope!!!! I know not everything is eveyone's cup of tea, but I am truly sorry that you cannot experiance Star Wars as many of us here in the US do. That being said, there are many, many, many who find Star Wars boring and dull and not worth their time. I wish I could understand Orphan Black and truly embrace Doctor Who (I have a thumbnail sort of appreciation for the Doctor, but can't get truly enthused), but I will be forever behind there and on so many other things. Enjoy what you like!!!!

I understand you very well. I usually can't do anything with TV-series and honestly I rarely had the time to do so, Star Trek and Monty Python was/is my biggest exception. I don't like cinema in general and my domestic TV-screen with a functional web-connection is completely enough for me. I also have never played video games on a console or computer. Nevertheless I call myself a huge computer nerd who has learned to love all kinds of creative applications. But I was a great comic book lover and a great collector of interesting and obscure music. Anyway, I've been addicted to this damn comedy for a long time now and I got lost in an active fandom for the first time. That's nerdy enough for me right now, I guess. And I understand you and @joyceraye very much @veejay . I am on the older side of many in this fandom (i'm 61. Ugggghhhh) and I find myself a different sort of geek than most. I have no clue about most things having to do with science or math. I don't care for video games or any sort of online gaming (the only games on my phone & tablet are Words with Friends and Drop 7). What I do love is movies and television and literature and reading (I can point to periods of obsession---Alias Smith and Jones [betting no one has heard of that!!!] The Marx Brothers; George S. Kaufman plays; Star Wars; Game of Thrones; the list is a long one!!!) . I am Sheldon's nightmare----a Liberal Arts major. All that being said, I too have been addicted to this "damn comedy" since the first episode. I was thrilled to point out to my patient wife (who is so, so, so understanding of this obsession I have with TBBT) that Sheldon and Leonard were named for Sheldon Leonard---(her familiarity of Mr. Leonard comes from his appearance in "It's a Wonderful Life" a 1947 movie) and how iconic he was in US television history. All that being said, geekiness is wide ranging and has differing mutations. I suppose we are all geeks in one way or another.....

So that makes Amy's wedding day Penny's special day. Are you trying to say there will be a surprise situation for Penny? 11 hours ago, Carlos said: They didn't but had to alter the story telling of the whole show, plus Kaley's leg issue was much easier to hide than Melissa's pregnancy, had they chosen to do it. Besides that, while Melissa wasn't propped up on set she wasn't even on some episodes because of her pregnancy, so that is a bigger issue, IMO. Kaley's issue affected 2 episode. Melissa's many, many more. This is true. She only missed two episodes and in the next two she was either standing behind the bar or sitting down.
