Nope.  I gave it  a brief  try after Opening Night but couldn't get the hang of what it was about. I hadn't expected it to be a comedy and I gave up after about 15 or 20 minutes.  Two robots landed on a planet or a moon or something and were quarrelling. I was totally lost by then, with no idea who the baddies and goodies were, nor who was on which side.

Yes I can get that. There were parts that were a bit slow and George Lucas has said that the target audience was ten year old boys.  It did pick up.  There were aspects of the movie that disappointed me when I first saw it but I was an avid reader of science fiction and there was not really much of that available at the time in theaters. My biggest disappointment was that it was more fantasy than science fiction even thought there were robots and space craft.

The only Star Trek movie I've seen in its entirety is the first.  More a fan of Star Wars.  The thing about the "prequels" in the Star Wars franchise that I enjoy the most are the performances of Ewan McGregor and Natalie Portman.  The rest? Eh.....As far as the original trilogy is concerned.  I find that they are not aging as well as I would hope.  The dialogue especially is lacking when compared to The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi.  I'm one of those who are enthusiastic for the "new" things.  Enjoyed Rogue One and am looking forward to Solo.  I am really hoping for an Obi-Wan Kenobi stand-alone film with Mr. McGregor!!!!

Yes. The original trilogy is not the same experience as it was 40 years ago. It's not the late 70s or early 80s anymore.

I agree about the dialogue.

It is a bit sad to see young hopeful Luke become old cynical Luke. It also feels a little true to life which is sad too. It is interesting to see some young hopeful heroes replace the old. The value of Star Wars from my POV is more in the expansive arch of the multi generational story than in the individual movies or trilogies. The expansiveness reminds me of some of the science fiction I read in my youth. It is all entertaining escape in the end.

Sheldon and his brother must be staying in an hotel the night before. Hope they don't get drunk at the bar.

If this episode takes place the night before the wedding, Then Sheldon might be staying at a hotel rather than staying at the apartment with Amy, this can be a tradition for some couples.

Sweet that one of his TBITB castmates is there.

Brother is in town I believe this week. I feel he is calling someone, perhaps Amy, from his hotel room or from a family members hotel room.

Yes. Tom Baker played the fourth incarnation of The Doctor in the  Doctor Who TV series. (On radio and commercial audio they don't have different incarnations. Tom Baker was still playing him the last I heard. ) He's the one Sheldon dressed up as when Amy bought a TARDIS to lure him into her bedroom so I assumed Tom Baker was Sheldon's favourite Doctor.  I remember Stuart dressed as him at the Comic Center for a party.

I saw the first episode of Dr Who in 1963. Whether I saw it the first time, the weekend President Kennedy was shot, or the repeat the following weekend, or both, I can't now recall. I used to watch the first two Doctors at my godparents' house at Saturday teatime when I was babysitting. The episodes were 25 to 30 minutes long and aimed at children. The early series had two teachers in it. :)

Since the beginning, the stories have usually been spread over roughly one to four episodes, so for someone tuning in and not liking it, just leave it for a couple of weeks and come back. I used to watch only the stories I liked. In the early to mid 1980s. especially, some of them got a bit too sciencey-technical for me to follow and I'd switch off. This would be around the time Leonard and Sheldon were first seeing them, I suppose. Tom Baker was before their time. Theirs would be Colin Baker or Peter Davidson IIRC. The third and  fourth Doctors' companion was Sarah Jane Smith played by Elisabeth Sladen. When in a David Tennant episode, School Reunion, she and K9 came back, tears were pouring down my face. There had been no pre-publicity so it was a great surprise. I was a fan of The Sarah Jane Adventures on TV, audio and radio until Elisabeth Sladen died. That knocked Tom Baker for six at the time. They were taping a new story.

Vale Sarah Jane.... And The Doctor couldn’t even get her back to the right suburb when he dropped her home.

One reason it’s one of the longest running TV franchise (54 seasons) ever is that they built the reboot into the design of the show. Every generation gets their own Doctor during their formative years.

But there’ll only be one adult Sheldon. (Well, nominally adult :) ).

Edit: unless we get Sheldon: The Golden Years as a bookend. I’d lay money there’s been a pitch.

Yes and he's not wearing a suit. He might be in his mother's or sister's room. I hope they got a family rate.

The Doctor dropped Sarah Jane in the wrong town when he was called to the hearing on Gallifrey, which she remembered for three decades, but he did send  K9  in a crate to Aunt Lavinia's  place to wait for her when she was travelling the world. Only one episode of A Girl's Best Friend was ever made because of a dispute. That was such a pity.

I wonder which Doctor of his formative years is Sheldon's favourite ?  From the blurb it doesn't look as though Amy's  going to be wearing a replica of Sarah Jane's Pyramids of Mars dress. The blurb calls it 'terrible' and the POM dress would so have suited her, and go well with Sheldon's Star Trek uniform he said he'd wear under his suit.

My guess would be it is a room for the wedding night.

Or Sheldon and his brother so he does not see Amy the night before.

Looks like two rooms I think. One for Mary and Missy, another for Sheldon and Georgie ? Leonard can come early in the morning while Penny gets Amy ready and Bernie sorts out Halley. Amy's parents probably live near enough. Maybe they put Meemaw up.

Could it be Leela’s outfit? Please let it be.

(Realistically, maybe for the honeymoon, once they’ve finished the math :) - Like Leonard and the green body paint, it could be a thing too. I’d get it)

Meemaw will not be there I don't think. I don't think Halley will be seen. But who knows. I hope she is not seen. Lol! Perhaps an adult only wedding?

Do you think we will see Halley? I am betting no on that one. They don't need to show the entire wedding party walking down the isle. Just Amy with her dad.

Amy on her father's arm will be enough, with Penny behind her.  I don't know whether a flowergirl goes before or after them, but they can easily miss her out.

And Sheldon looking in awe at Amy. I hope we get that as well. Normally, flower girl goes before the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Often they walk down the isle with a ring bearer. Not always though.
