That’s his ring with Todd.  He’s not even dressed as Sheldon in this picture.  Although when he’s married to Amy I wonder if tptb will let him just keep his wedding ring on or if they'll make him wear a prop ring.

I know it's his wedding ring to todd  that's why  I fangirled I love them together plus keeping HIS  ring will make it more AWWW now my fangirl heart hurts (in a good way)

In my opinion, Georgie's prescence at the wedding makes sense. After all, he's Sheldon's brother and has been mentioned before the existence of the spin-off. It doesn't appear that Tam will be making an appearance, as far as we know. His character was created for Young Sheldon and was never mentioned on TBBTIf they went out of their way to include him now, I think one could argue that they were pandering to make overt connections to the spin-off. I don't think the same can be said for including Georgie. I love meeting our characters' family members.

What was the reason that Penny's brother and mother came to Lenny's wedding?  What was the reason that Leonard's father came?  No spin offs there, but they were written in and cast.

Leonard had a brother and sister he didn't get along with and they weren't cast for the show

Howard's cousin Jeanie appeared in season 8's "The Prom Equivalency," after being mentioned in season 3's "The Adhesive Duck Deficiency." I think that previously mentioned characters can always appear on the show. They exist in the same universe.

While not a physical appearance, Georgie "appeared" via Sheldon's stories.
Trying to be funny here but the chicken that chased sheldon up the the tree appeared in sheldons stories too

Why did we meet Penny's brother? Why did we meet Howard's brother? Sheldon's sister? I am excited to meet Georgie as well...I think family members are always welcome as it gives further background knowledge to the character. IMO I think some people are angry on the sole basis that it is Sheldon's brother. I can almost guarantee no outrage if Leonard's brother or sister showed up to his wedding. But because it is Sheldon's family it is biased against Lenny somehow. This is my opinion and I am sticking to it.

Yet it was all good when Lenny had a rush wedding in Vegas. And ya seemed fine with Sheldon ruining it. I don't think Leonard and Penny fans are mad that Sheldon has relatives at his wedding. IT makes sense, its a wedding afta all. It just seems an oppurtunity to promote YS thats all. Seems like this show is now a cross between The Sheldon Show and Young Sheldon now.

This is a discussion thread for TBBT, not YS.   Unless you can provide us with absolute proof (not your own interpretation) that something is caused by Young Sheldon, keep that discussion in Chit Chat, or start another thread.  Also, do not reference other posters or fans of other ships in a derogatory way.   Quite a few posts have been hidden.  Consider this a general zero point Friendly Warning.

Why after 200+ episodes would you have Penny's Mom and brother on? Or Leonard's father?

Because it's their wedding.

I Don't think anyone is suggesting Only reason these characters are existing because of the prequel. But it does seem they are using the show as a marketing platform for YS. Why wouldent they? ITs a decent platform. But George has barley been a presence in the show. We know more of him due to his presence in YS.

Pennys Mother we never saw other then comments. We obviousley know Bev. With her huge presence in the show. Same with Pennys Father. Leonards dad was a mystery. I mean if their was a Young Leonard show. Sure but their is not. It is almost like TBBT is being used as some kinda capsule for YS show to venture in. I find TBBT has lost its identity. But that ship sailed a long time ago.

Yes. Penny did those things when she was young not as an adult. She has realised her ways. Everyone has done stupid stuff when they were young. Now we have a young genius victim of intense bulling who should know better, but has now became the bully as an adult.. I know who is the prat

In the episode where she half-assedly apologized to her victims over the phone and ended up stealinv the clothes for the poor by the end? LOL

Plus, I'm pretty sure she also joked about bullying following that episode.

Well, I think for a large group of viewers (incl. myself) this was the most pathetic and shitty episode of the whole TBBT universe. I would never want to see this story as any proof of the continuity of the series' content. Also I'm generally sceptical about continuity in a sitcom.

Funny is like beauty, it's in the eye of the beholder. I don't care for American Dad, but my son loves it like I love TBBT. As I have been told, different strokes for different folks. :icon_cheesygrin:

Yes, it's in Series 6 (The Bakersfield Expedition) that she speaks of the bowtie boy.

Quote

Penny: Mmmm. Now I feel bad for picking on all those kids. Although, in my defence, if Danny Biffle didn’t want to eat a mouthful of dirt, he shouldn’t have shown up to school wearing a bow tie.

A year later, in The Convention Conundrum...

Quote

Penny: Okay, so I’m an adult, and the other day I saw an old man slip and fall down, and I laughed. I mean, I laughed hard. Like, like, out loud. If he was conscious, he would’ve heard me.

Amy: Gosh.

Penny: I know. One of the tennis balls came off his walker and bounced right off his head. I mean, I, I almost wet myself. I guess you had to be there.

Ever the soul of sensitivity and support, here is her reaction in Series 9, when Leonard returns from Dr. Gallo's office:

Quote

Leonard: Hi.

Penny: Hey, how’d it go?

Leonard: Oh, great. Dr. Gallo is terrific. You know, I, I’ve always been insecure that no one cares about what I have to say, but she made me see…

Penny: Yeah, no one cares. Did you help me out or not?

Leonard: Okay, now, what I’m hearing is that you feel that I sometimes take too long to express myself, and you wish I’d be more succinct.

Penny: You’re only hearing that because I cannot roll my eyes any louder.

Leonard: All right, well, after we talked about my issues with my mother, nothing too deep, just how she ruined my life, I told her about you and your drug. She said she’d be happy to meet you.

Penny: Really? Oh, you’re the best husband ever.

Leonard: So you’ll go to the Doctor Who convention with me next week?

Penny: I guess.

Leonard: Oh, I actually did hear your eyes roll that time.

I don't believe that Penny has substantially changed, and like her husband and closest friends, her victims probably exhibit the effects of the copious abuse she and people like her doled out.

Edit: Like you Mislav, I do not find sadism entertaining.

After 11 years of the show you pointed out three instances. JMO but this is much ado about nothing.

Oh dear, wouldn't it be terribly tedious to cite every example? The objective was simply to refute the statement that Penny had realised the error of her ways.

The examples given illustrate that over a period of several years, the same underlying disregard for the feelings of others was evident.

If this,is so serious to you why aren't you criticizing sheldon for how he treats people

This is an interesting subject. Not sure if this thread is the place for it, but......The main male figures in the cast (Sheldon, Leonard, Howard and to some extent, Raj) spent their childhoods and young adult years being bullied and now as they are, in a way, popular in their small social circle, they in turn have taken to bulling each other...Not sure where to go with this, but again, an interesting subject that I would enjoy reading other thoughts regarding...

Because my original post was a direct reply to a user who could not remember a specific episode. In subsequent messages, I have made it clear that Sheldon's behaviour is at times equally untoward.
