That’s Missy

Now that is my idea of an attractive woman. It's just one still shot, but she seems even prettier than her previous appearance.

I see your point but I gave up or rather became disgusted by Raj years ago and honestly think the show would be better without him

His behaviour has annoyed and even disgusted me at times too so I can understand why you might feel that way. I genuinely haven't a clue what is going to happen with him in possibly the final season, I'm hoping he changes and gets a nice payoff from that change or it could simply be more of the same.

Someone once made a point to me that life has ups and downs, people seek happiness and fulfillment especially when it comes to relationships but some don't find it that easy even some never find it. They made the point to me that maybe that Raj is there to show that life is difficult and not everyone finds happiness. So yeah he might look like an 'outlier' when it comes to the theme of the show and you see almost all of them going from BF/GF to Man and Wife but maybe that's why Raj is there to kind of show the other side.

I dunno I hope at the end he finds some happiness.

He can attract them, he just frucks it up time after time.

one of my favorite non-Lenny scenes was when Howard convened Raj's own personal "Counsel of former girlfriends" to amass data on Raj's failures in a relationship. Both Emily's were there, as well, as Claire and Lucy. I don't think they could find that sailor moon girl fro Comicon. :icon_cheesygrin:

IIRC he took on board their advice about being spoiled by his parents financially and he has to be fair changed that.

It seems to have made not much difference though to his relationship chances, but then I never thought money and being wealthy was the root and cause of his relationships woes.

I thought today’s episode was great because it was mostly a group episode, we got to see so many parents / siblings interactions, no petty fights, instead it celebrates friendship (beautiful Leonard / Sheldon scene and Howard got this amazing present to Sheldon), Sheldon wasn’t mean to anybody, and they found a beautiful way to incorporate science in a wedding episode - because of a line Amy said about Sheldon’s bow tie and then his mom mentioning something about imperfections (sweet scene with Mary in the groom room) he had this scientific breakthrough - he went to share that with Amy and she was blown away and they’ve both started working on it in the bride room , they had no board / papers so they were writing with lipstick on a mirror 🙈

Then Leonard came in and was like are you guys crazy , you’re stalling your own wedding... Then he saw the equations and was so blown away he joined them

Then Penny saved the day ;)

(She also sassed and shushed Amy’s mom when she was being a bitch)

Also they managed to incorporate a tribute to Stephen Hawking in the tag with the wedding theme... I just thought it was so flawless and so TBBT that they find ways to do that, make a big milestone episode like that but stay essentially them

Ofc you might see it differently, feel there wasn’t enough Shamy or Lenny depending on your preferences, but for me it was a solid beautiful group episode

Honestly I have a feeling it will be a longer episode ... Cause it’s the longest taping I’ve been to AND half of the scenes were pre-taped

But also missy, Mary, Georgie and Amy’s parents didn’t have much screen time (whatever time they had was hilarious though ), it was mostly main cast

For me the magic words are "group episode".  Many of my favourites have been ensemble efforts; IMO that was one thing that made TBBT so appealing. In addition, it sounds like they are in character, essentially themselves, as you say. (Well, perhaps the selves they were back in the day?)

It's very kind of you to post such lengthy descriptions, you've done a wonderful job of slaking the forum's TBBT thirst!

I found the funniest part was where all the women and Howard confessed to finding their true love right after breaking up with Raj. :icon_cheesygrin:

Looking from the outside,  American TV seems to be rather rigid with set numbers of episodes and so on, always starting and finishing at the same time of year, but is it possible they have a surprise up their sleeve for viewers this time ? Might they give us a longer than usual episode for once ? Or is it against the rules ?

Would the long taping have been due to a lot of rewrites on the night, with the cast being so excited by the presence of so many stars they fluffed the lines a lot ? Or could it be there was more script to get through ? Can we hope ?

Oh American telly is very set in its ways. Everything ends on the hour or half hour. The only exception seems to be for live events like awards, sport, or a big news story. I've never heard of them just adding a quarter hour for example.

It certainly appears to be a frenetic pace, but I am a bit conflicted about an extended episode.  It would serve the story well and it would certainly please me to give it a bit of breathing room. However, it would go over very badly in certain circles, and that violent negative reaction would decidedly have an impact on my personal enjoyment.

Silly I know, but I just find it hard to be completely happy if others are furious and dour.

There is a lot of truth to what you say but it would still be a lot easier to redeem Stuart than Raj. One season left is enough time to recover "old" Stuart he is still there underneath.

Raj would have to be stripped down and completely rebuilt. And I still wouldn't believe it

Sadly, I must agree and it makes me absolutely livid that they ran Raj down beyond redemption. I feel they've done all the characters a disservice in one way or another, but Raj got tossed into the Cusinart and shredded.

Yw!

I think they have because guest stars don’t take up that much time. Georgie only talks in a couple scenes I think, cause they’ve been so focused on him in the previous episode... (1 scene at the wedding is kinda meh, something about tires with Bert, but the first one in 4A when Amy just meets him, I loved it 😍 If you’re a Shamy you’ll probably love it 😌)

Missy we see her in the car with Mary when Raj is picking them up, and then in 4A, maybe she has 1 min of screen time at best? We find out that she’s pregnant again and divorcing her husband (Mary’s trying to hide it), then when they get to 4A and Amy meets Missy and Georgie Mary’s not there I guess not to make it overcrowded, they’re joking she went to a pastor to pray for missy’s soul 😂

Amy’s parents have a little bit more screen time but not too much. You have to keep in mind that whatever screentime guest stars had, they shared it with (mostly) multiple members of the cast... It was mostly a group episode. I can only think of 2 Shamy scenes sand 1 howardette scene and 1 Sheldon/Mary scene and Sheldon/Leonard scene... The rest of them i think were 3-4 people scenes at least. So overall it didn’t feel crowded at all

brilliantfool, I salute your prodigious memory and powers of description! It does sound as if they have done a good job of distributing the numerous key moments among the guests and regulars. I am not a shipper, so I like that there are charming moments for everyone. A thousand thanks for whetting my appetite.

I'm a bit confused about American weddings. Why is Amy's father in the congregation ? Shouldn't he be ready to escort Amy and give her away ? Are Shamy going to enter together ? Is that usual ? I've only ever seen it done when they're already married.

The rule of thumb to remember about most american ceremonies is....

There is no rule of thumb :icon_redface:

Social functions like Americans themselves are very diverse and run the gamut from simple, free form and inexpensive to something to make royalty jealous, there really are no rules that MUST be followed

Thanks. Howard's, with the bride getting married from the bridesmaid's house, and Mike escorting her and giving her away, looked like what I'm used to seeing, and so did Lenny's park wedding. That's why I was surprised Amy's dad was sitting with her mum in the audience/congregation or whatever it's called when it's not a church. Shamy must have their reasons for not wanting her dad to give Amy away and do it differently after going to so much trouble to choose the other conventional figures. Thanks for the explanation.

I've always associated that practice if there is some religious element to it, for example either the ceremony is a religious one or conducted in a place of worship say like a church.

Of course in other venues and with a particular couple they may decide to still do it, but some of the weddings I have been to that aren't in those aforementioned places quite often you get none of that.

Well, maybe her father got up from his seat to accompany Amy when she was ready to go. As far as I understood, Amy was getting ready in a room in the same facility the wedding took place, not at her apartment, so her father was going to meet her there. Probably he sat down because Shamy were so late he was tired to wait for them, ahah! Or...Shamy were so late at their wedding that they entered the room together even if that wasn't the original plan.

Hahaha, oh lord, it sounds like several people powered through the big night (and/or day). It will be the zombie apocalypse at various homes, schools and places of work today!
