Maybe in the last episode both couples (or Lenny+1) move out and Shamy say their new location os a surprise, then Lenny get to their new house and find out Shamy moved next door. Then we get a new "Hi -Hi" sequence.

If that happened, I can see Leonard look at Penny and say"How the hell did they find us, did you tell Amy"?

I suggested it is Shamy who keep their new location a surprise, not Lenny.

I'm afraid there is no way to put lipstick on this pig. Like you, I rather thought she might choose a period dress, perhaps Victorian or Edwardian, but not antebellum plantation frou-frou. A stiff breeze and she can fly to the Twelve Oaks bar-b-que.

I don't know if you guys were talking before he episode aired, but regardless of what anybody thinks (Penny, Bernadette, us) the point that was made abundantly clear was that it was Amy's choice, and that as long as she liked it , that would be the dress she'd get married in.

Yeah, I know! Lenny was probably already moved into that sub-division and it was a secret location as well. Since they were tired of living either with or across the hall with Sheldon. I took your assumption and added my own spin to it.

Honestly right now I have no desire to watch this episode in its entirety in a few hours when I have to get up. And right now I have no desire to watch the wedding. Feels like this decision has ruined the experience for me, but I am of course in a minority so it doesn't matter much what I think.

Of course your opinion matters, and furthermore it matters to you, and you have every right to feel as you do. As I always say, when it comes to watching an episode or not watching an episode, the only opinion that really matters is our own, since we ALL watch through the prism of our biases .

Very well said. Totally agree.

Sheldon loves the dress that's all I care about

Sheldon would have loved her in a lot of dresses that were more toned down that this ridiculous looking thing and he could have said the same things about a dress that didn't have a goofy cape, goofy gloves, pink ribbons as wide as your hand or that wide a skirt. It didn't have to be THAT over the top is my point. At the end of the day Sheldon and Amy aren't real. This is the writers wanting to make her look like a clown because they think it's funny. Just like they HAD to throw in another line about Penny getting free drinks with a push up bra because they think it's funny, even though at this point that is also over the top. Both of these aspects of the ep disappointed me very much.

She looks like "Scarlett O'Hara gettin married".

Scarlett's wedding dress in Gone with the Wind was nowhere this bad. This is just horrible as far as  I'm concerned.

I was thinking Shamy would want to move next to Lenny, so they move there purposefully and keep it a surprise. Then we get a "Hi -Hi" sequence with Shamy all thrilled and Lenny... not so much...

Yes and I just can’t get over the tag scene alone.  When she’s standing there looking in the mirror at herself with that sad look on her face.  You know it’s the dress she wants but since her two best friends don’t like it at all, she’s going to go against what she wants and get something else even though you know she doesn’t want to.  Then when the door opens and Sheldon barges in, you see she’s startled and wasn’t expecting him.  You see she’s worried about his reaction but then he stops in mid sentences in absolute shock and says “Wow!!” Like I’ve never heard him say wow about anything before in that way.  And then he instantly follows it with something else i don’t think he’s ever said to her....”You look beautiful!” With such sincerity...

This dress isn’t something any of us would pick for ourselves but this isn’t our wedding is it?  It’s Amy’s and this is the kind of thing she’s into.  Chaucer, Pride and Prejudice, etc.  The first thing i thought of when i saw that dress was “Gone with the Wind” type of dress.  And that’s what Amy is into.  So of course this is the dress she picks for herself and since we all know Sheldon likes the way she dresses in general and her fashion tastes, of course he’d love it too.  He even asked her...”Why would you take it back?” And you can see he’s genuinely confused as to why she would do such a thing.

So for those of you who still think this dress was a bad choice and wanted the writers to do something different....why?  It wouldn’t be Amy now would it?  And for those who feel it will ruin your enjoyment of the wedding itself....keep in mind her hair and make up are not done the way it will be.  Hell, she doesn’t even wear her glasses in the wedding from what we’ve been told.  I think she’ll look beautiful.  And in the end, it’s Amy & Sheldon’s wedding.  Not ours.

Exactly! Very well said. Regardless of our own personal opinions on the dress, I believe the above quoted post precisely describes the point of the episode.

PS: IMO, (and IMO only) the guys' plot was absolutely worthless).

I don't recall laughing much if at all really at that story and it felt rushed (yes I finally watched it this morning, just a reference to you quoting me earlier).

Just further evidence to me that when you get girls/boys storyline splits the girls ones are way funnier and better done.

Or subjects of lab experiments.

Oh, please! That s taking it a little bit too far. Subject of lab experiments? Really? Come on!  While saying female when referring to a woman is a little bit insensitive, it's not the end of the world. OK?

It doesn't hurt that Sheldon loved the dress as well.

The first one was fine and Amy liked it. They could have let her choose that one and then gone out for a proper meal in the time saved.

But, to the writers that wasn't funny enough. They couldn't get those wonderful facial expressions from Penny and Bernadette from that dress.

Not sure why you think Lenny is desperate to move away from Shamy. Amy and Penny are the best of friends, Sheldon and Leonard have been best friends for years. I have not seen any episodes where Lenny are truely that upset with Sheldon where they literally want to get up and move away. Also, the show would not work if you take away the character that rocks the boat a little bit. You need both Leonard and Sheldon to play off eachother. I doubt Lenny or Shamy will move until the very last episode if at all. You need the staircase, the hallway for many of the scenes. If you take away the neighboring apartment, the hallway, the stairs, the elevator to me it is not TBBT anymore. It is something else all together. JMO.

It was more of a Sheldon plot anyway. IMO, it shows how much they have milked the Sheldon cow, we have seen sooo many Sheldon-driven plots and many of them were better than this one and also utilized the others better.

I'm sorry, while Jim is an excellent actor, he can not carry a plot by himself.

I don't think Lenny would be desperate to move, but may think it would be better for (all of) them and for their friendship to take a little distance, especially if they start a family (I'm talking last episode/s here). So finding Shamy had moved next door would be a bit of a disappointment and would make for a nice comedy moment, but not the end of the world for Lenny. JMO.

The original plot was about all guys going to vegas, there are promo pics about that and people who were at that taping on IG have described those edited scenes. Basically the guys were with Sheldon while he was collecting his data to decide when to play, then they left and  he was arrested (the only scene from the casino set that made it to the aired show). I guess the scene about Leonard, Raj and Howard in the Cafeteria was shot later on, when they decided to change the plot, or after that scene they reached Sheldon in vegas.

I know there was a part with the others, thanks for the details. However, I don't think the part they deleted would have made a big change.

Maybe not but I think Sheldon and the guys in Vegas had a lot of potential as a plot that was under realized.  That said I liked the girl’s stuff.

The girls absolutely had the better plot. The guys plot looked thrown together and if they cut out the other guys in Vegas, that explains why.
