Isn't that the case every year?

Still doesn't make it any less sad. Especially as next season is, as of now, scheduled to be the last season. Unless we get a stay of execution.

I don't know about it being the last season.  The Hollywood Reporter article seems to hint at WB/CBS leaning toward a season 13. Of course they would have to contract the actors for another season but I think they would be agreeable to this. Also, if this does come to pass it certainly would be the final season and they could announce it as such and increase their viewership and advertisers.  Guess we will know in a few weeks.

I know, that's why I said unless we have a stay of execution.

So no Detector Van evidence was presented at court?

Of course it wasn't, and nor would it have been, even if they had gone to trial, because Detection evidence has never been used in a TV Licence evasion trial.

BTW: How did they get caught? I'm guessing they answered the door, answered his/her questions, then signed the form, ie. they signed a confession?

The husband was caught red-handed with the tele on.  I don't know whether anybody has ever been in person to a trial about TV licence evasion unless they're disputing the facts. It's one of those crimes  like unauthorised parking  for which one can plead guilty by letter. Evidence isn't necessary.

Not sure where to put this but this is the week TBBT is likely to start flexing is muscles as top comedy as Roseanne continues to try and find its level.  David Darlene episode was a temporary reprieve (held steady)  but now down another 20% with next new episode.  https://www.spoilertv.com/2018/05/ratings-news-2nd-may-2018.html?m=1#

It was Abby from NCIS second to last episode. She is a beloved character on that show.
