Sheldon was right. Amy really does look beautiful.

It looks slightly better without the awful gloves.

it seems though that the writers have forgotten what was said during this season. If I recall correctly the groom said something like tell me when the wedding is I will be there you handle the rest. So the Star Wars theme is for the benefit of the bride.?

They changed that like two eps later or something. It was a one liner said out of frustration that she did not take him up on.

To be fair they did skype the wedding 😏.

And nobody watched it because even on that occasion Sheldon had to make it all about himself. Not what I would have expected after such a long relationship.

I suppose. But the wedding then again was never about her.

Daisy.

Let me say, straight away, that I've nothing against Zoe Hilson.

Indeed, I think she's a brilliant actress, but I wish they'd used her right from the beginning.

Daisy the secretary ? I remember being confused. So that's what happened. Did they change the brother-in-law as well ?

No it doesn't. It shows the writers wrote for the characters. Leonard and Penny (mostly Penny) were always more free spirited and eloping was right in character for them.

I disagree 100% with you. By eloping they even went against what they (Penny) had mentioned that they were going to have to wait until her brother got out of prison, so free spirited or not the initial plan was to have their families attend the wedding. The fact that they had a second wedding only confirms the fact that the first one was a fail,. If not, why did they do a second wedding? Not usually how these things go, is it?

Yeah I don't think Opening Night had anything to do with Mark Hamill officiating preecedings. He was available and made sense with who he is, and is connection to geek culture. Coincidence I think.

Not being planned 2.5 years ago does not mean these things are not connected. These things are connected because of the way the Opening Night was written. That episode made an equivalence between the birthday gift and the guys going to the movie.

  1. There is a story arc from the birthday to the wedding.
  2. Mark Hamill represents Luke Skywalker. Star Wars has been an element of TBBT all along but in a special way ever since PP became the force ghost in Sheldon's dreams. PP was Sheldon's Obi-wan. Now we have bearded Mark Hamill officiating the wedding.

They had a second wedding as a result of Penny attempting to please and bond with Beverly.

True. It's not that unusual either. However, having said that, there's usually a reason behind a rushed first wedding such as illness in the family, the groom being posted abroad, or a home unexpectedly coming available for a couple who don't believe in 'living together in sin like New Yorkers', or imminent war. There was no pressing reason for Lenny's expedition to Las Vegas, other than they hadn't made any arrangements at all and if they didn't get a move on they might never get around to it.

I don't think people are disagreeing with the connection.. But Star Wars has nothing to do with the bride.

they wrote the second Lenny wedding because of the first one. Beverly was part of the story to correct their mistake.

And there as no reason it had to take place either.

IMO there was no mistake to be fixed by the redo wedding. The mistake was the rewriting of history with the boat kiss.

Thanks. I've always imagined Mrs Bale becoming housekeeper/nanny to Shamy if they ever married and couldn't cope with running a home. Soon we'll know if they need one or if they manage.

She was a toy in the comic book store.

Don't remember her.

Well he's wearing the right colour shirt - royal blue.

In UK we have two royal weddings coming up, the first of which will be two days after Shamy's. I'm leaving out the flags I planted for St George's day, HM's birthday and the prince's birth. If I find any Stars and Stripes I'll put those out too and see whether anybody guesses why.

Last I checked, you weren't Sheldon. He's gonna be upset with you using his catch word. 😄

There is no point to Raj anymore in my opinion.

The writers seem to think that the show needs a horndog. Howard and Leonard are reformed, Sheldon and Burt were never like that, Barry is rarely around so Raj is the last potential horndog standing.

Not sure I agree Leonard was ever really a horndog.  Or at least putting him on equal footing with Howard is unfair.

Yeah Leonard had a few casual relationships. But he was always portrayed as someone who wanted a fullfuling relationship. Based on Howards character history. I am not sure it is acccurate to say Leonard was a horndog. Not that their is anything wrong with that. Having an active love life ain't uncommon. And besides I wouldnt class Raj as a horndog in any capacity. That would imply he gets some hahaha.

Really? I don't think so. If Penny was attempting to please Beverly why did she invite Leonard's father? That caused a great deal of friction, so I don't think your theory is demonstrably valid. Also please bear in mind that they invited all of Penny's family, and that has nothing to do with pleasing Beverly and bonding with her. I still think that the more reasonable explanation is that TPTB realized they had screwed up the first wedding and tried to make it up to the fans.

In regards to what you say about Star Wars, I also disagree. The fact that having "Luke Skywalker" officiate Sheldon's wedding is super relevant but not because PP is Sheldon's force ghost or because of Opening Night. Star Wars was already a big part of the guys' lives even before that. Remember when Amy and Bernadette bake them a Death Star cake? Or when Sheldon mentions him assembling a Death Star Lego model? Looks to me they are pretty involved fans, wouldn't you say?

The fact that Professor Proton becomes Sheldon ghost Obi-Wan talks more about Sheldon's fondness for Professor Proton that Star Wars becoming more special to him because of that.

Where’s Meemaw? I would think she would rank higher than George Jr and Missy,Did she die? As I said before if Missy was pregnant that would of been excuse not to be there. As to Amy family we didn’t see Howard’s or Betnadette’s Mother. Could of had Amy father there and had her mother unseen

Nowhere to be seen, thankfully. I hated old Meemah, hated  her.  I think I've seen 3 or 4 episodes of YS , and I have to say I like everybody's younger versions of themselves, including Meemah, even if YS himself seems "too nice" to have "evolved" into adult Sheldon.

Yes, you are right. I was stretching it. Compared to Howard he was tame. On the other hand he was confused and conflicted about Alice when he thought he and Priya were still an item. His relations with Plimpton and  Mrs. Latham kind of indicate a willingness to sleep with anyone that was human, willing and still breathing.

Have you even seen Kathy Bates play in anything?  She's awesome!!  She'll be amazing and make you say "Annie who....?"

Not me! I am awfully bothered by the lack of continuity. Btw, I love Kathy Bates, but IMO that has nothing to do with it.

I guess your right leonard isn't a saint or a monk but he does seem like a normal male looking for the right woman. I personally don't think that makes him a bad person but i guess we won't agree

Not always. Remember Joy?
