Ratings were always going to be lower than years ago, audience figures as a whole have declined.

Considering Mark Hamill and the other big names they brought in for the finale I beg to differ. As audience have declined not by that much.

In a way they did, Sheldon gave them tickets to San Francisco with Hotel room. He got himself a ticket and went with them. A very nice Honeymoon.

But then Lenny could revel in having Sheldon and Amy gone. This thought surely must peak your interest...Shamy out being Shamy and Lenny doing whatever they want with no interference from anyone? Alone baricaded in 4A? Watching Luke Cage and doing the Netflx and chilling? Penny making Leonard  another dinner she messed up or better yet they order in or have picnic on the rooftop? Perhaps work on another joint painting project? Dodging phone calls from Raj and Howardette?

As @Swedish Chef said, it has never been mentioned they really did it. Tbh I think it was another thrown line writers have never thought about it again.

That would be nice to have the ingrateful ass out of the way. But, you know as well as I that we would never see it because the writers feel the show can not continue with out the so called golden couple.

It's very non- Penny. I've heard the joke in US sitcoms that the bridesmaids are supposed to wear ugly dresses. Wardrobe have done a clever job.  I wouldn't say this dress is ugly : it would look sweet on the right person. Good for Penny for not complaining. She's going along with Amy's taste.

What does surprise me is Amy's mother in trousers. 

I am no expert on wedding dresses but to me it looked kind of similar to her own wedding dress in the redo ceremony.

The scene seemed phony to me. Sheldon saw his father cheat on his mother and the mother didn't speak well of the father so I didn't buy it.

I'm sorry to be a jealous twit, but after 2 sub-par weddings for the Hofstadters, we get perfection. Congratulations. 

Agree  It certainly was obvious about all the things you mention.  But I would guess this was more of Holland's hand in it than Molaro. Molaro just didn't get that comedy can include intimate, touching and sensitive moments.  Looks like Holland does.

Well BOTH couples would be featured of course. You would have to show Shamy doing the honeymoon thing. You could never not have them in an episode.. Sheldon will never be fully gone from the show as much as you wish.  He is as important as Leonard. But you could do an episode of them enjoying themselves while Shamy are shown enjoying their honeymoon.

It was similar in shape but the one for the park wedding was mainly lace around the shoulders. I didn't think that one suited her either.

 Now onto my opinion of this season, as a Lenny fan i didn't think this season was any better or worse the the last three, i was left disappointed though.  This was made more so by the last three episodes two of which Lenny had no scenes and the last one they did but  didn't have and dialogue with each other . I  can't think of a single season where they didn't talk  for three episodes in a row  whilst in a relationship or at all for that matter . I know some of my fellow Lennies feel this season is better due to the fact that Leonard and Penny haven't had any arguments on the scale they had last season. And how the snarky mean comments between them especially from Penny have been vastly reduced, and we didn't  get any stupid jokes about how he wore her down or begged her . These are great and i was glad that we didn't get any of the arguments we've seen them have before same with the mean comments or stupid jokes about their relationship . However these positives for me are outweighed by my overall disappointment with things that where missing like the lack of anything i would consider a  Lenny main story plot or and plots we did get where little sub plots .  The fact we didn't get to see any beds scenes between them , yet the writers where able to write quite a few for the Shamy yet not even one for Lenny. But that was nothing compared to what to me was a reduction in affection and intimacy between them , compared to even last year it's been quite scarce. But my biggest issues are the fact that Leonard and Penny never hugged , the last season that they never shared a hug i think  was season 4 which say a lot, . However even this isn't  as bad as my shock at the fact that this was the first season of the show ever EVER! without Leonard and Penny sharing a kiss , it felt just wrong with that not happening. i have no idea why  this season they chose not have them share a kiss. Of course all of this is just my personal opinion of how i felt about this season , and i know alot of you will disagree and that's fine after all where all entitled to our views of  what we thought of  this season. 

 

Oh I don't know if this has been mentioned before , so if it has I apologise , Leonard & Penny met in the first episode of the show and got married in the first in the first episode of season nine. Sheldon & Amy met in the last episode of season three and got married in the last episode of season  eleven, so both couples  from meeting  to getting married took eight years . 

Yes It is certainly very obvious the lack of intimacy in their marriage. They seem more like best friends living together than a married couple.  And it is true that Shamy has had more bedroom scenes and pillow talk than Lenny did since season 3.  It also is obvious how many Lenny hugging/kissing scenes have been cut.  This wedding episode alone they cut the Hawking scene with Lenny hugging at the end. And in season 10 didn't they cut the kissing/hugging scene when Penny didn't get Zack's offer of a job?  What's up with that?  Hopefully season 12 will be a better one all around for Lenny.

Looking forward maybe season 12 episode 1  can have all three couples coming back from trips: Shamy from their honeymoon, Howardette from a vacation, and Lenny maybe coming back from visiting her parents in Nebraska.  Just a capsule comment and my humble opinion.

I think the difference is that Sheldon and Amy did not engage in physical intimacy until Amy's birthday in Season 9.  Penny and Leonard have always had that as a part of their relationship....

The tribute was absolutely perfect though.

That's different, Stephen Hawking wasn't a fictional character and especially in the case of death, if they want to reference it they'll have to act quickly. Season 12 would be too late for that.

Not purely a relationship of the mind, the allure of the brain and intellect is clearly a big part of their relationship but it has also been clearly more than that for some time now.

I think if you would ask most Shamies they would say we are seeing a more complete and deeper relationship now. Still have the science and brainy moments between them which they enjoy but also seeing more signs of physical intimacy and affection between them as well.

Not going to get into a debate about their sex life or anything, been there done that and got tired of it lol. But sex isn't the only sign or form of physical intimacy.

Personally I'm kind of tired hearing some shamy fans telling us how they had to wait 8 years for a marriage i know of a another couple that waited 8 years too

I don't know why you never see any bed scenes anymore with them. I actually find it a bit strange myself that you don't, because Howardette and Shamy do have those type of scenes.

I would genuinely be interested if it came up in an interview with the powers that be to know why they don't anymore.
