Well, good morning. What a glorious Monday morning. For those headed out to start the new work week, you have my condolences. For those retired like me enjoy it, it's time for me to return to bed.

My favourite thing is to stand by my window watching people going to work and then having another cup of tea or coffee and going back to bed with podcasts on my phone.

I'm not entirely happy with this because it proves to me that  they are changing what they said on TBBT to make YS more palatable...about Sheldon's dad and about him starting a family.

I strongly agree.

I don't like watching people go off to work. It seems to much like work to me. Since being retired, I have developed an allergy to work.

I can't get into this since I never watched 8 Simple Rules. I've never even seen one ep. I did see a few Married With Children eps and didn't like them at all.

Katey may have been fine on 8 Simple Rules. Terrible on TBBT.

Meemaw's phone call that didn't make it into the show:

Thanks for posting this ! When they announced there was going to be a voice message from Meemaw I thought they meant one that could be played at the service or reception over a speaker for everyone to hear. You couldn't play this voicemail. I hope Shamy send Meemaw a video of the wedding, or even do a Lenny for her.

Absolutely nothing funny about that call and nothing poignant either.  Well maybe for a YS fan it is different.  Sure didn’t sound like the same woman we saw.

What she diddn't sound like a Raging Lunatic LOL.

As far as the quality of the show currently. Look divided forum I guess some think the show is still barnstorming great! Some think the writing went off a cliff a few seasons back. I am in the latter camp. As for the jokes. Well only a few eps back. They reference Penny using her "assets" to gt drinks. So clearly they drop them in still. But those jokes never bothered me in the first three seasons. I was a Two and a half men fan before TBBT came along LOL. So I guess those kinda jokes were kinda tame in comparison. And tbh before coming to this forum. It never occured to me drunk jokes e.t.c. Could b seen as offensive to som ppl.

I mostly found them hilarous. But I guess if your more conservative. But to me the drop or rise in quality is not attributed to what jokes they have dropped. But the overall quality of the writing. I just simply felt the story telling in the first three seasons was more unique. They always used to break down sitcom clichies, tropes, and stereotypes. So well. That is what I loved so much about the first three seasons. And part of the reason why I got into Lenny. I've felt ova the years. The shows fallen into a trap. Of being too tropey, and relying on sitcom tropes, and other clichies. But that is just me.

No, she kept hers like she said in the episode where they almost got married on a hitch (11x10), that they'd go in as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler and come out as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler married couple. Holland confirmed that in an interview a little while ago.

We don’t know that yet.  Everybody thought they had decided to not have the wedding at CalTech when Barry said he’d give it to them if he could sing at the wedding.....

Can you link the interview?

Exactly. It's a bride's privilege to change her mind. She may decide to be Doctor Fowler Mrs Sheldon Cooper. We have a princess called Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal Mrs Timothy Lawrence.

Yeah, we still have to wait and see. It could go either way. With these writers, you can't go by what they write in earlier episodes. They seem to have selective memories.

Holland was asked about it at PaleyFest.

Women who get their PhD or publish before marriage almost never change their names professionally.  Some will hyphenate legally.  I don’t think there is even a process to make the changes on their documents.  In persoanl situations they might be called whatever. If they get married before they get the doctorate or publish, they can do whatever too.  I know a bunch of women with phd’s age early 30s to almost 70 and none changed their names.

what to ask a question when is cbs upfronts and do you think they will say if season 12 is last or not?

The CBS Upfront is on Wednesday May 16th at 4 pm EDT (US) at Carnegie Hall in NYC.

The purpose of the upfronts is to get companies to buy ad time on their shows for the 2018-2019 season.  They are usually used to promote the new shows and reveal their fall lineup.

They might mention at some point in their hopes regarding TBBT, but it think it is too early for any really important news.
