HeWolf Posted October 18, 2017 Posted October 18, 2017 Jeff Goldblum wouldn't be a bad choice. Kind of tall for Howard's dad, but genetics plays funny tricks.

Yeah I considered bringing that up. Although part of it could be due to emotional neglect. Emotional neglect can cause various psychiatric and physical damages, it might sound pompous but it is true. Leonard actually made this hypothesis in his presentation of Sheldon, he complained that the major height difference between him and his brother could be due to (differential) nurturing. joyceraye Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 My first choice would be nobody. My second choice would be Nathaniel Parker, third choice Matt Smith

3ku11 Posted October 29, 2017 Posted October 29, 2017 (edited) In any case after Meemaw. I Think it is crucial if they are going to bring Howards Father into the fray. They need to learn from that expeirence. And get the casting right. And the writing right. 3 hours ago, Stephen Hawking said: I think that's a bit more plausible, than a 35 year-old playing a 55 year-old. Doesen't bother me, they are acting after all. A 35 year old playing a Teenager. Like in Hannah Montana Miley's brother in real life was actually 30. But 35 and 55 I don't see a problem their. Actors have been playing Characters who were much older than their actual age and vice versa in Hollywood for 70 years! No big deal as they are just acting after all. Estelle Getty character Sophia on Golden girls was 79 in Season 1 when in fact Estelle was only 62 in real life and had Red Hair! IOn The Jeffersons Isabella Sanford was 20 years older than her TV Husband Sherman Hemsley in real life! On The Golden Grils Bea Arthur was older than her tV Mother Estelle Getty by a Year and a half This happens all the time in Hollywood. they just have to make them look older or younger depending. Well if he had a Grandmother or Grandfather who was short he could hot his height from them. boro0707 Posted November 12, 2017 Posted November 12, 2017 Somewhere I found an article where there are two choices put forward - Ted Levine and John Lithgow. I'm not sure about either. What do you think? Btw. I like the idea of Jeff Goldblum.
Irene Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 As much as I love John Lithgow, I think his height makes him a poor choice for Howard’s father.

HeWolf Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 It actually seems to me that Judd Hirsch would have been an excellent choice to play Howard's father. Better choice for that role than the role of Leonard's dad. How about Wallace Shawn? (Vizzini) from 'The Princess Bride'. He might be a little old, but he's actually 9 years younger than Judd Hirsch. 3ku11 Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 My personal choices would be Danny Di Vito or Jeff Goldblum. I Think either would be perfect for the role.
