Chrismo
Okay episode. The geology was total filler. Sheldon dreaming of Bert in tag was creepy. Another learning experience episode for Sheldon. Penny and Leonard underutilized. penny had a couple of funny lines. People are complaining about lack of Shamy moments. None with Lenny tonight. Bernadette and Howard had a couple of funny lines. Amy was utilized almost badly as Lenny. Raj who was supposedly the main storyline was actually best of episode. I think if they concentrated more on him and Ruchi it would of been a better episode. I almost felt I had hope for Raj in this one.
luminous
#JusticeforPenny continues... 'The Big Bang Theory' Season 11 Episode 7 Recap: Penny Shuts Down Sheldon's Slut Shaming Comment Quote [...] Penny continued her ascent as the season's best character by masterfully putting Sheldon in his place after he attempted to slut-shame her. It all started with Sheldon coming to Penny for work advice, saying he'll ruin his reputation if anyone finds out he's working on a Geology project. Penny gives her opinion, but Sheldon can't make up his mind whether or not to take it, which prompts the following exchange: Penny: This is about science. Why’d you come to me? Sheldon: Because it’s also about reputation. And somehow, you managed to hold your head high despite your checkered past. Penny: Checkered past? Sheldon: It’s a figure of speech referring to how sexually promiscuous you were. Penny: Really?! Well I’ve got a figure of speech about how sexually promiscuous you can go be with yourself. https://www.glamour.com/story/the-big-bang-theory-season-11-episode-7-recap

joyceraye
Was Sheldon's behaviour at Bert's office door a reference or homage to something in a film or a TV show I haven't seen ? And what was the tag with Sheldon's silly Raj-like daydream of Bert about ?
Capt. Hilts
I like that they actually had Raj doing something many Indians do - watch cricket. In Toronto, for the big matches, community halls or restaurants or whatever open up to show the games because they come on at like 2am and fans don't want to wake their families by yelling. Yelling , at cricket ? Times have changed. It used to be a dignified round of clapping. The sports bar is a far cry from the days when boys would sneak a transistor radio into the classroom in their satchel and hide it in the desk. I remember one occasion on which one of the boys, who'd somehow managed to conceal the fact that he had an earphone in, interrupted a music lesson by crying out during a pause in a piece, 'Oh damn ! Bad light stopped play !' Fortunately, the teacher was a man and symapthetic. In the days when there were only two and a half radio stations and two TV channels, not everybody liked there being cricket on all day.

After all, licensing music is expensive. Remember how they used The Turtles' "Happy Together" several times throughout last season's "The Collaboration Fluctuation"? veejay
Wow again. Last week I was very surprised about the Glamour review and my astonishment continues to a next higher level: #JusticeforPenny "And tonight, Penny continued her ascent as the season's best character by masterfully putting Sheldon in his place after he attempted to slut-shame her." "Clearly, Penny is not here for anyone's stupidity. The only crime is that her role in this episode was to service Raj and Sheldon's story, and not her own. Hopefully, we'll see more #JusticeForPenny as this season of The Big Bang Theory continues." Dear Jessica R., I couldn't have put all of this in any better terms. And the most important thing, when I saw the scenes mentioned above, I had to laugh out loud #Justice ForTBBT? Not yet complete, but at least... That's not the way, Leonard. "Penny's therapy corner kitchen" can also be recommended to you. Edited November 10, 2017 by veejay forgot a "point", LOL
bfm
I thought it was good and had some good laughs (though I think some of that was because I watched with my mom and she LOLed at things I wouldn't). Although I feel we're getting too many Sheldon stories so my tiredness of him is starting to grow back. I actually thought the Raj-Ruchi story was the better one and it was nice that Howard was playing second fiddle for him for a change. I liked Ruchi! And I like that Raj was arguing with her making him treat her more like a person and not some other creature he doesn't know how to behave with, as he has treated many women before. Hope it will get somewhere. The Bert story I thought got much better from the moment Bert just refused to work with Sheldon. Sheldon wasn't that funny though, IMO. To me Jim seemed more engaged and energetic last week but this week turned back to the way it has been in most episodes lately. I don't blamd him, he's doing all the heavy lifting while Johnny and Kaley are barely there (seriously they were on for like..seconds! I think Bert was shown more! @Tensor I'm waiting for your screen time work). My favorite scene of the episode was when Sheldon found that Bert turned to Leonard! Leonard sitting there grinning was hilarious and his remarks on learning from Bert were great. Seriously Johnny is so underutilized!!! Also I think Bert turning to Leonard was one of the most reasonable behaviors seen on TBBT lately... The joke about Bernadette transitioning into Howard's mother and Sheldon's congratulations made me LOL. And Melissa does the Howard's mom scream so well. Liked a lot that Penny shut Sheldon down on his slut shaming! And also didn't treat his complaints too seriously. That is much more Penny than the character we have seen on the previous 2-3 seasons who did way too much for baby Sheldon. Did not enjoy the Leonard fat joke though! I know Johnny makes those on himself but that is so low for a 2017 TV show. 1 hour ago, veejay said: That's not the way, Leonard. "Penny's therapy corner kitchen" can also be recommended to you. I didn't mind that, fet it was good spirited, a joke. It's not that she was forced to give Sheldon a kidney or anything too harsh...

I liked these two things as well. Sheldon's been having a lot of needlessly mean moments this season and having an episode where those were shut down each time and have long lasting consequences (Bert refuses to work with him even after he apologised) was a relief to see. Zephon75
Wow will the mediocrity of the season never end tis was yet another disappointing episode , this season for me is stating to turn out last the previous three seasons all of which I found on a whole poor. Actually the first seven episodes of last season where better than the first seven of this season. Anyway about the episode at first I thought great Raj has a possible girlfriend but by the end I had the suspicion we won't see Ruchie again. If we do it won't be for very long, but I hope i'm wrong as I think if there going to give Raj a girlfriend then she should be in till the end. The whole geology part was just pretty much rubbish , although I was surprised that Bert actually complemented Leonard calling him a amazing scientist, and refused to work again with Sheldon even though he sort of apologised. . That last scene was just weird and not necessary also I did not like Sheldon's insult to Penny about her past, he has no right saying she was promiscuous because he really doesn't know if she was. Oh and how much Lenny was there in the episode ? one tiny maybe five second scene , that might as well not of been in it. spidergirl
I have watched the episode and I would say it was okay for Raj and Ruchi plot. They have some chemestry and Ruchi could be a good match for Raj as she is his opposite about love stuff. However who is writing this season seem they did not watch s9 and 10 as Raj was portrayed like he was before he dated too casually two women at same time. The arc story has some potencial but I dont believe much at moment Ruchi would be the one for Raj. Let see what upcoming episodes might bring for them... Although Raj telling about his sexual life to Howard seems something from a teenager, it did not surprised me much, as those two have always shared too much jnfo on intimate things from each other, lol! I guess this episode might have showed that Bernie wil be more heard than seen for next ones, which I think it would work fine. Penny and Sheldon talk was funny. The figure of speech mention from her was really funny! And last but not least, I did not like the gay tone all episode had for Sheldon and Bert collaboration. I think they could have explored the fact Sheldon get more thoughtfull as he senses he was rude in some way for someone and he was for Bert. At least he tried to fix it as his biggest issue is more about Geology than for the person but all their dialogues-which are still terrible imo this season so far by the way- were more a word play that could hint sexual intersest than two colleagues that found they could have an interisting and useful job as a team. What was the point of that? I believe it could have been hilarious for some but for me I had not laugh once... Another thing that keeps bad this season so far is the tag scenes. This one did not make any sense at all. Bert with his lab coat open as a gif is funny but in the context of all plot was imo useless.

TBBT writers like to play with analogies as a joke. The Sheldon-Bert collaboration was equated with an affair/start of a romance from the start but it was a joke, like the Shamy collaboration-sex analogy in "The Collaboration Contamination". Well, I know it was a joke but to me the tone was there, I have no problem with gay jokes but I did not see those coming from two characters that are not even close. I mean. betwen Howard and Raj had been always a proximity that could allow some gay jokes , I agree in disagree with you on this.
Shelldon
-Hearing crickets while watching cricket. -"Don't have time to play rocks with you". Too busy getting your rocks off to yourself. Seriously, when's the breakthrough about his elitism going to come? They are just rehashing a standard Howard/Sheldon plot with Bert/Sheldon. -I'm sure Mime Sheldon is just waiting down in his psyche with all the other personalities from Relaxation Integration. -Sheldon did not take long to Zinc it through. The only one judging you is yourself, moron. -Complaining is the sport of the sports watcher. -Help, I have no idea what they are saying either. Also hell has frozen over because Raj found a girl he can talk to like a normal person. Well normal for someone who knows cricket terminology. -Never try to catch Sheldon in a lie. -I took Geology, but not Physics. But for once Penny and I agree, those classes aren't for us. -For someone who never cared about sex before 9 seasons in, Sheldon sure is equipped with a slut shaming radar. -Breakfast at Ruchi's. Casual. I'm just glad Stuart seems indifferent towards it. Enjoy your danishes and stfu. -"To slow the bleeding". Penny is spitting straight fire tonight. -Rocks have more value than this giant clod of Sheldonite. -Some experience with serious relationships and a ton of experience with no relationships. Middle ground makes for possible marriage partner. -First amusing Raj fantasy in years. Really hope Ruchi is able to join the group. Surely they can afford her as main cast for just one season? -"Dinner with my parents come to mind". I mean, the "Yo Momma" scenario sounds lame, but damnit if Shamy had dinner with her parents they can do that as a main episode plot. Not a throwaway gag. -Don't be soulmate guy. Biochemical reactions that fade over time and not being threatened by understanding of mechanisms. Well that was a fun philosophical debate which could be an interesting route to take Rajchi, assuming it's not what drives them apart. -Very seducing offer, Sheldon. But Leonard pulling this steal makes whatever betrayal Sheldon makes next week totally justified and the Kripke thing only an added layer of jerky Leonard. -Hopefully Raj and Ruchi move past friends with benefits.....and no it's not that weird for a guy to want an emotional intimate component. :/ -Ok show, now make Almost Paradise play over a scene of Sheldon gazing at Amy. Seems to work really well as shipper fuel.
