S. 2, I think,  Sheldon said Penny that he was offered to work in a secret military facility somewhere and he refused to take the job because he couldn't keep a secret, as telling Penny about the secret military facility showed.

Exactly.  S2 - The Bad Fish Paradigm

P: Look, why is it so hard for you to keep one little secret?
S: I'm constitutionally incapable. That's why I was refused clearance for a prestigious government research fellowship at a secret military supercollider located beneath a fake agricultural station of Traverse City, Michigan. Which you did not hear about from me.
....
S: This is a classic example of Munchausen's Trilemma.

I thought we were talking about the gyroscope specifically (as in: the project in the upcoming episode would be his "current secret project" which would make the "previous" one the gyroscope). But yeah, Sheldon is notoriously bad at keeping secrets but he's been getting better at it. He's not S2!Sheldon anymore.

That might be, but now he got an eidetic memory dilemma. :shy:

Of course, I was just clarifying what episode the OP was referring to. The writers have gone back and forth with Sheldon's ability in secret keeping many times since then, it  doesn't surprise me at all if in the next episode he is able of keeping his mouth shut about working with the military. IF that's what happens...for all we know (which is just the press-release) it can as well be that Howard and Leonard learn about his collaboration with Colonel Williams from some indiscretion Sheldon himself says....

What they said. Sure it was season 2 but Sheldon being able or not being able to lie is a mess to me, there wasn't a linear or close to linear development there.

I generally try to rationalise that he can't keep other people's secrets but does keep his own.

Wasn't the former (refrenced in S2) project his own secret? And if we consider it other people's secret then his current work with the milotary should be considered other people's too.

That was a military secret that existed before he came along. It was not his.

He was not able to keep his new work for the military secret for long. Thinking of 10.20.

He seems to be able to not talk about his storage locker hording.

He kept hacky sack a secret.

Hmm not sure that it should make such a difference but yours is the best rationalization for the Sheldon and secrets issue I've heard.

Wondering if JG has been spending time on the reboot of Roseanne?

I was at the October 6 taping of Living Biblically, which was the same night as the premiere episode taping of Roseanne. Johnny was at the Living Biblically set the whole time. It's possible he may have pretaped scenes for Roseanne. Not sure about any other episodes.

At the moment it hasn't been officially announced if Johnny will be part of the Roseanne reboot, even if tptb in that show have said there are negotiations about it. I guess that if they find a way to have him there it will be widely advertised. 5 episodes of Roseanne have been taped so far, and I think it's safe to say Johnny was in none of them. BTW, I was thinking, maybe TRs from Roseanne are available somewhere...just to see how they have dealt with David so far, is he still married with Darlene?

I really liked it. We got to see the pilot and the 5th (I think) episode that was taped. Was also cool to see Johnny. We were in the front row, and for about 30 minutes, he was right in front of us watching the monitors.

Good to know. I had hoped he would be involved, but it probably isn't working with his schedule.

The episode just aired over here. My thoughts.

I don't know it was a technically sound plot. I don't know just diddnt feel much energy from the show. Coulden't really get into either plots. The Raj/Ruci or Sheldon/Bert. Thought the Tag of Sheldon fantasising over Bert. Came across cringy, and a tad creepy.

And boy how under utilized is Johnny Galecki. Once again if he has a plot it is Sheldon's left overs lol. I really liked the Sheldon and Penny scene. Penny by far the best character this season. I loved her response to Sheldon attempting to Slut Shame her for the billionth time. I wonder if it is a set up for something.

I actually really liked the scene when Raj and Howard were watching cricket LOL. Cricket is such a huge part of Indian Culture. And Raj is Indian. So it made alot of sense. Showing the contrast of Western Culture. Cricket is popular in NZ too. But clearly not in the States.

Overall it was an okay episode. Felt a bit like a filler. Like a discarded script from Season 5 or 6. They they pieced together for a Season 11 episode. The only part I really liked was Penny's rebuttel to Sheldon. And the Cricket scene.

I'm convinced they read these forums, there just seems to be so much of what fans here talk about that happens or is granted on the show. Like when a lot of Lenny's were upset about the first Lenny wedding, they wrote a second one.  I think they read here and then just deliver what you guys want/expect. Or make you wait for it. I also think they hate on Shenny whenever they see someone like me... that slut-shaming comment just came out of nowhere after I was argung that Sheldon was not conventionally moralistic towards Penny. Den of Geek said ""In other news, Sheldon basically calls Penny a slut, and she replies by telling him to go be sexually promiscuous with himself. Not sure why that’s here, but at least she hit back."

Cricket is pretty big in UK too, especially England. Statistically speaking, it was the foremost game in the world until recently. It's gradually being overtaken by soccer as the most-played. They didn't say which country India was playing. Judged by the flag on the wall it could have been England.

I agree about an old script pieced together,top-heavy with former seasons' jokes, from Penny's numerous sexual partners right down to Amy's 'bedroom' hint. I didn't think either was funny. Amy's was ridiculous considering there's never been any suggestion that Sheldon was unsatisfactory in that department or even thinks he could be. Raj's conversation on the date night contained chunks very similar to the one he had with Emily years ago. It was sweet when he was younger. It just sounds stupid from a man of his age now.

I don't know for sure but I think there have been complaints and criticisms about the first Lenny wedding in other places such as their social media pages and TV reviews. There are things many of us complain about that they don't change at all, take for example "he wore her down" jokes or the nonsense season 10 Lenny fighting, but it's not restricted to Lenny and Lennys. Also Sheldon has made so many slut shaming comments towards Penny over the years (e.g. last year), I didn't feel it came out of nowhere.

Also the hobby of the TBBT watcher.

I'm in 2 minds about Sheldon's contempt for geology. It's OK S being stupid, it's a continuous implication of the show that there's no general intelligence and a person can be highly intelligent in some ways and stupid in others. But S has a very wide culture and would surely appreciate the historical role of geology as the first science to challenge the authority of Christianity. Still, it's always nice to see Bert - I don't think he's ever failed to improve an ep he was in.

I felt that another established feature of the Sheldon character was forgotten: when cricket was mentioned he could have given a lecture on the Indian Premier League and its leading personalities, without ever having seen a game.

When Howard and Raj and Ruchi were watching cricket in the bar, it would have been a nice little addition if the British prof whose group Raj almost joined until a woman came in and he had to get drunk had shown up, to Raj's embarrassment.

Ruchi seems like a potentially good character, but there's an aspect of the way the story always works that I don't like: Ruchi wil only join their social group if she becomes Raj's SO. She is Bernadette's friend and why shouldn't she join B & Penny regardless of Raj? Likewise B was P's friend but she only joined the group as Howard's SO. Conversely, P & B had to accept Amy when she became Sheldon's SO.

Especially if Sheldon could use it against his mother when she goes over the top. I like Bert, too. He's funny. I miss the funny in some eps.

Sheldon wouldnt get anywhere. The answer those people give to geological evidence, I've heard, is that Earth was formed complete with fossils and ancient rocks in situ.

( I wonder sometimes whether Archbishop Ussher et al really intended their dating to be taken literally.)
