mirs1
It was a very good episode, I reaIIy enjoyed it, it was funny and I laughed out Ioud at Mary chasing SheIdon in the garage; Soft Kitty in the finaI scene was aIso very tender. AII in AII, it was the best episode in the season for me.
bfm
I thought it was relatively good. I find the show quite simple, banal and predictable. It is cute, well cast and has funny moments but no more than that. Mary is shown to be overprotective all through. Sheldon is a difficult child but going along with everything he does will get him and his family nowhere. Mary seemed less accommodating on TBBT, perhaps she has learned. spidergirl
Ys would be predictable as we knew most of things we are watching on screen.

I don't mean things like Sheldon having phobias or loving Math and D&D. I mean the plots by themselves.

Imo even the plots would be always predictable themselves. We have known all these years what had had more impact to Sheldon characterizaton and they have been exploring these things. Something happens that makes Sheldon react in an unusual way, a Sheldon way, the family doesn't know what to do, Mary comforts and cuddles him, George is beffudled, then one person, usually one of the family and many times Mee-Maw, manages to get to him and everything is good again. I would like to see more creativity put into the plots. That is all IMO of course.

Yes, the episode was the closest one to TBBT canon we had so far. I Iiked it aIso because it was the closest to TBBT styIe. YS is not a comedy in the sense TBBT is, you don't Iaugh out Ioud aII the time (as it happens with TBBT, weII...sometimes more than others, but that is the intent on the writers' part), it's not a "fault" per se, since YS aims to be a different thing from the main show, and it tackIes a much more difficult subject. This episode, anyway, had many IoI moments, it was Iighthearted and hilarious, pIus the Soft Kitty part was goId!
