Well I have to say I was surprised how much I liked this episode it was light hearted comedy which I enjoyed a lot, it was nice to see Penny showing care for what she believed to be her sick husband. Actually I believe this episode was the most affectionate Penny has been to Leonard all season he got a honey a sweetie and a I love you from her all in one episode. Sheldon getting April fooled was funny, now as for Penny's chance at a new job I don't think what Leonard did will effect that, whilst he did mess up it wasn't on purpose as he was under the impression he wasn't going to get to meet Bill Gates.  I really hope Penny does get the PR job it'll be interesting to see how that plays out in the show. As for what Penny will do when she gets home I don't think anything will happen well I hope nothing happens anyway.

Bill Gates is mentioned in the roommate agreement during the Large Haldron episode.

Well he was not mentioned by Leonard. Sheldon puts in all kinds of silly stuff.

Quote

Leonard: Why don’t you enlighten me?

Sheldon: With the friendship clause of our roommate agreement nullified you are no longer entitled to accompany me to go swimming at Bill Gates’ house should I be invited.

Howard: Ooh, that’s gotta sting.

I'd expect them to make fun of windows and Microsoft. Leonard has never said anything about being a fan of Gates before.

If Leonard admired him I don't think it would be for windows. I think it would be for his success in general and his charity work.

But it had NOTHING to do with the Gates plot thread.

It could have been in any episode.

The same with the Amy/Bernadette portion.

It's another episode with no closure. I would have  rather seen a Penny/Leonard ending instead of Sheldon, but that wouldn't of been as funny for the writers. I really enjoyed the episode anyway.

So I am supposed to forget that Bill Gates gave a speech at the University years ago and punched Sheldon over the Windows Vista comment (S04E17 - The Toast Derivation)  They've typically done a good job of continuing to build off of  previous story lines that they have mentioned in previous episodes and seasons, and as mentioned above there was no mention of the desire to go to Bill Gates' house to swim if invited, very let down but I'm a super fan so who cares in the long run

They all seemed keen to see Bill Gates this time but I don't recall anyone saying they'd not seen him before. It would have been better if somebody had recalled the punch, though, I agree.

From panels and interviews it seems clear they don't go over old episodes, whic is a shame, I think they should really do an intentional marathon do jog their memories, or at least hire someone to do that and type some information so they could search through the file when writing something new.

For example forgetting what a character said in a now famous introduction who then went on to have a significant impact on the show and still does.

Some shows are just better at remembering what they wrote, even then I don't think they are completely infallible. In fact I think this show is pretty open that it will retcon stuff or have selective amnesia if they think they can get a good story out of it and produce laughs. Frustrating for some especially die-hard fans but it hasn't hurt the show much.

Clumsily written, hopefully slightly better

Well, sometimes I got the feeling they'd forgotten the marriage of Lenny. :shy:

For all Bernie was obsessing over her kids, there were no Easter eggs on display for Halley. Even Leonard didn't have one for Penny among the flowers and candles. What's wrong with these meanies ? Did they all give up chocolate for Lent and forget it was over ?

Has Leonard ever had anything for Penny for Easter? I can't remember anything at all ever so it didn't surprise me that there was nothing now. I don't think any of these people are very religious for one thing. I don't  think any of them care about Easter or Passover. I can't even remember Howard's mother doing anything for Passover. And for another thing, I doubt if Halley would remember much at her age about the holiday and they have their hands full with the new baby. But what I think happened is that the showrunners planned around April Fool's. and didn't want to toss Easter in as well, although they happen to come on the same day this year.

Sheldon has chuntered on about creme eggs in the shops when it's not Easter. Halley is by no means too young. They make plenty with bunny-rabbits on, or even in bunny shapes for age group. Her doting grandparents and all the uncles and aunts she has should have sent her shelvesful of eggs. It's beyond belief that there wouldn't be any for her.

I can't believe that Leonard was doing a candles, hearts-and-flowers apology for Penny with no chocolate, on eat-your-own- weight -in- chocolate day, which would be nearly as bad as no wine. That  self-focussed Sheldon would forget and not buy Amy a lovely egg with hearts on it is believable, but not Leonard. I can't believe they overlooked the opportunity for him to give her a big, fancy egg with all the trimmings.

Of course, as usual, Our dear Sheldon misinterprets Leonard's intentions and spoils his surprise for Penny. Which he would definitely need to placate her.

Can a 16 months  old eat chocolate anyway? Some pediatricians nowadays suggest to wait until kids are 2 years old for that.

Yes, it makes sense that the others would want to see him again, but NOT that Sheldon would.

Confused by that response, Sheldon absolutely wanted to see him, from the opening see Wow comment, to the laundry scene where he really wanted to believe but was skeptical of Penny onto his two attempts to meet him when Leonard tricked him on the apartment stairs  "So it wasn't a joke and I really could have met him" followed by "Thank you, Thank you so much"  and Howard/Raj tricked him at the comic book store and onto the ending when he was walking up the stairs frustrated

My godparents made sure I had plenty. Not sure we had paediatricians then, let alone boring spoilsport ones. The scene decorators have a lot of Christmas decorations up in the Wolowitz house, even when they're not talking about Christmas. The odd Easter egg on a shelf given by  Bernie's parents and Raj wouldn't have killed them. Making Easter signs conspicuous by their absence when the whole episode was based on a real-life date in the year did kill my suspension of disbelief, however.

Most childless young adults (like my kids ages 30 and 32) could care less about Easter.  They come over and eat my candy and the dinner we traditionally make. The same goes for a lot of their friends.

My nephew and his wife have three kids under the age of five.  Easter is very low key for them because of the chaos that their daily lives already contain.

Sounds as though some American adults don't buy Easter eggs for one another. Perhaps it's because they've had Valentine's Day rather recently and they make a big deal of that. Pity the kids miss out on fun. Perhaps they have egg hunts and egg-painting at school.
