Loved it! Loved that Sheldon ended up missing Amy and said so. Loved the tag scene with Amy dancing and Sheldon's response to it. I loved that the girls let Amy believe she had a really wild night when she didn't. Loved that johnny g looked like he was going to bust out laughing over Raj and the tomato.  Loved it all. 😄

I didn’t really laugh tonight, just a few smiles, I found the girls story funnier than the guys.  I would have to rate this episode near the bottom for the season.

There was a lot of ways they could have went with the guys storyline if you include a wil Wheaton, Bert or Stuart. Instead they went with beaten to death Sheldon misses and needs Amy. We get it. The girls storyline is limited. They have no other female friends. It would be fine as a b storyline.  kind of sad that the last bachelor/ bachelorette party was tonight's episode.

I believe Howard had the best bachelor party and Penny had the nest bachelorette  party by default. Amy's was a dud and Bernadette's was non existent. Leonard's started out just fine, then died. I don't even call Sheldon's a party. So, Howard and Penny win.

That was BORING. I barely had a laugh. The best line for me was Sheldon to Raj "You.. just NO!". The girls story was better than the guys' to me but that doesn't really say much...

As the episode was kind of about growth and change there are some minor things that I wonder if they were signs of growth/change or just the writers writing a bit OOC. First there was the guys' reactions to Raj's Hulk question - in the earlier days theu would fully engage in that discussion, now they were looking at him like a weirdo... Leonard's line could have easily come from Penny. Then the girls - if this were say prior to season 8 I could see Penny organizing this knitting party for Amy but rolling her eyes and making bored faces throughout the whole thing, now she seemed to be fine with that, even the tea was totally fine for her and she didn't go bring herself a bottle of wine.

BTW, I really don't like that they reverted Leonard to hoodies! I liked him not wearing them anymore, I thought it was a subtle, clever way to show his growth. And now they're back...

So overall, IMO, a disappointment after two good episodes.

Very good episode, one of the better ones this season.

That Dr Wolcott played his part very well, IMO, better than a lot of guest actors.

Apparently we watched different episodes last night or our description of very good is 180 degrees different from each other!

I thought that's the point of discussing the show on the forum, because we are very different people, we bond to have different opinions of the show.

So, what's your point? And the exclamation mark, ummmmm, really, excited much?

And I'm not the only one who thought this episode was funny, why the fire towards me???????

I really enjoyed it, the friendships were very strong in this one in both stories (friendship is the core of this show) and my thoughts on Shamy are in the Shamy thread.

I liked both stories a lot, the girls together are just amazing all the time in terms of comedy and how they play off each other in terms of delivery and timing. Melissa now free to be part of stories like this with them together is great to see and its something that has been missing a lot this season! It highlighted for me their friendship in a lot of ways, any other day what they did for Amy in terms of a Quilting Bee would have been well received so they do know her. They showed their friendships by created stories of their night out to give Amy that experience (sure they took photos of her passed out, but they do enjoy snark and banter with each other and I found it hilarious) that she wanted that's friendship right there.

The guys had a bromance vibe throughout this one, I really enjoyed their friendship in this one and it felt strong. Leonard's gag about Raj and the Tomato was one of the funniest sharpest lines in a long time. But it was the concern they showed for Sheldon their friend that was a real highlight in this one, Leonard initiated a piece of dialogue that for me will be memorable for a long time:

Quote

Leonard: "Please don't tell me you want to live like this?"

Sheldon: "See that's the strange thing, I don't. What is wrong with me?! Why don't I want this?"

Howard: "Nothing is wrong with you. You have friends, you have a fiancee, you have a full life!"

Sheldon: "You know what you're right. Thank you for bringing me up here, but I think I am ready to go home now."

Raj: "Really, you don't want to stay for dinner and talk more science?"

Sheldon: "No, I miss Amy."

Really loved this episode and it moved the story along which for me is what I am into and more so as the show heads towards its end.

Final point I have to point out is Mayim. A lot of the time it all depends on the material the actor is given especially in a show with so many characters, standalone format with stories for the most part being different each week etc. But I have to say in back to back episodes Mayim has been amazing, in terms of the material she has gotten, her delivery in terms of comedy and timing. I'm biased of course but I think others have noticed it as well that she has been top notch these past couple of episodes, for example Vulture also noticed that:

Anyway this is all IMO and again I really enjoyed this one :)

Basically, I was emphasizing the simple fact that we have different views on the funniness of last nights episode. There was nothing against you personally or an attack on you, and no that episode sure didn't excite me in the least bit. As a matter of fact, I was disappointed in it and the writers.

The writers made a good use of their guest star in this episode.

(Something reminded me of Tensor, but maybe I'm just a little weird by myself.)

:shy:

I thought he was very good, best guest star in quite a while :)

I agree that the tea with Penny and Bernadette was just s too much. What happened to the real Penny? I agree she would of been bored stiff. Then they made up the story of what happened when Amy passed out.  Then the only thing I could think about with the guest stat was Ally McBeal and unisex bathrooms.

Actually I don't think it was too much, I think it is a nice change that she is capable of being okay with that and doesn't get bored with anything that is not alcohol, clubs and sports anymore.

LOL. That was also my first memory when I read who the guest star is. My wife had "forced" me to look at Ally McBeal at that time and I liked it. His mannerism and gestures reminded me again. :shy:

Howards was the best. It was funny because of having Kripke, Wheaton. Stuart part of the bachelor. Bernadette's was non existent but that was okay simply because theirs was part of Howards. You got at least a 1 out of 2 on that episode. Also I didn't laugh at his one. My judge is my wife who doesn't ship or isn't into it as much. She didn't like the episode either.

I love that actor who played the nutty professor, his name escapes me right now. But for comedy sake, Kripke, Will Wheaton or even Stuart and  Zack would have been funnier.

I forgot about Zack. With all the shootings in the US him going out to shoot a squirrel seemed inappropriate.

I agree. He changed way too easily in this episode.

That stopped being funny like 5 years ago. Jeez, the guy is getting married and you STILL want him to be conflicted about his relationship with Amy??

In the final scene? Purely just following the plot in this one it made sense considering both Sheldon and Amy realised with how their nights went that they have changed since all those years ago. And despite the fact they aren't the same people as they were when they first met they still love each other and always will. It made perfect sense.

Like @April said we have had years of conflicted feelings between them, as they are getting married it's good everything is now being put into perspective and focus.
