So take care and stay safe Yeah, we're gonna get a lot of rain and some wind. The tracks for both storms now have them headed to Louisiana, Mississippi and the Texas coasts. When they first started talking about Laura, we were the target one. But it's been drifting farther West. We're watching and honkering down. chucky Posted August 24, 2020 Posted August 24, 2020 Ain't that something. Marco is headed toward Louisiana and still giving Florida a lot of rain and massive thunderstorms. It rained so hard I couldn't see my neighbors house.
chucky Posted August 25, 2020 Posted August 25, 2020 Well, one down and a big one to go. Any one living in or near Houston get ready!
chucky Posted August 26, 2020 Posted August 26, 2020 Lake Charles, look out a monster storm, Laura, is bearing down on you. It appears we will get tropical storm winds (50 -70 mph) and a lot of rain.
chucky Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Well, here we go again. Another storm to hit between Tallahassee, FL and Texas. Could hit at the same location as Hurricane Laura a few weeks ago. I'm keeping my eyes glued to The Weather Channel to stay informed. chucky Posted September 13, 2020 Posted September 13, 2020 Seems as though from Dustin, FL to probably New Orleans will get 3 to 8 feet of rain. That includes Pensacola and Milton. That's where I live.

But I stayed during a Cat 3 and ran from a Cat 4. I guess because a Cat 3 is just a hurricane and a Cat 4 is a "major" hurricane. That little word "MAJOR" scares the hell out of me! Cat three is also a major hurricane. But stay safe with Sally.

It's gotten stronger so fast with the track veering a bit more to the East. We still haven't got too much rain or wind.
Tensor Posted September 14, 2020 Posted September 14, 2020 We had rain all day yesterday and most of last night. It’s just now pulling away.

chucky Posted September 15, 2020 Posted September 15, 2020 So far, so good. We're getting some rain and a little wind. We still have power. If you watch the radar, it looks like we're getting pounded, but not yet.
chucky Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 We're fine but still getting hammered,
chucky Posted September 16, 2020 Posted September 16, 2020 Well, seems like Sally's anger is beginning to calm down a bit. We've lost a portion of our privacy fence. We're still getting heavy wind and rain, but only in gusts. We never lost power for more than 5 minutes. So all in all, not that bad. chucky Posted October 6, 2020 Posted October 6, 2020 (edited) Oh well, here we go again. Hurricane Delta is coming. Cat 4 with 145 MPH winds. Supposedly headed to either Texas or Louisiana. With what happened with Sally, I'm keeping an eye on the storm. It can easily change direction and this one is a monster. chucky Posted October 9, 2020 Posted October 9, 2020 Hopefully the folks in Louisiana and East Texas have battened down the hatches and have hunkered down for Delta. It's a monster.

Delta is hitting exactly where one hit about 6 weeks ago. We still have debris from a few weeks ago. Santa Rosa County is a bit slow on the pick up. Well, seems that Delta is taking a shot at Mobile, Pensacola and points east with the outer bands of the storm. We're currently under a Tornado Warning until 1 PM. Getting rain now with more coming. chucky Posted October 26, 2020 Posted October 26, 2020 Well, here we go again. Another storm headed toward the Gulf of Mexico. Will this hurricane season ever end?
chucky Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Well, Hurricane Zeta is one bad-ass storm. We're still under a tornado watch until midnight or about 2 more hours. We had some wicked wind and soaking rain.

Even when we don't get the head on shot, we're on the Eastern side. That is the strongest side. We had a Tornado Warning last night and a Tornado Watch until midnight. It was a very interesting night. To make matters worse, there's a possible storm forming again in the Caribbean Sea. November 30th can't get here fast enough. Tensor Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 Oh, we can still get storms after November 30. December is the second most active storm month(after May), outside of Hurricane season. Although, good news, such storms don’t normally hit the US, and if they do, it’s usually as a tropical storm.

chucky Posted December 1, 2020 Posted December 1, 2020 I got to say "Thank goodness Hurricane season is officially over"! The season is over in name only. There has been a storm or two that has formed in December in the past, hopefully not this year. With that said, dang, it's cold this morning. I had to wear long pants for the first time all year. It feels strange with long pants on. 😊
