[Spoilers] Shamy: Season 12

Recommended Posts

Yeah, I'm not worried about the outcome. PP will talk some sense into Sheldon and he'll make things right with Amy as always.

I wished they were more creative with this cause it feels a bit like a rehash of last year. But oh well,we knew something was coming, might as well be a paint-by-numbers plot.

Good news is, Alex Ayers is writing 12x5. She's a huge shamy fan, look at 10x23. So at least we know the story is in good hands, by someone who respects our babies.

In fact I want to talk about the press release, one: it specified the word "accidently" which in no way excuses whatever Sheldon will do but it does show that it wasn't done with malice or anything like that. Two: Consider this, Sheldon and Amy had this wonderful joint project in season 10...but then Amy went to Princeton, and then she had to set up a new lab, plus all the wedding planning on top of that and now she's working with Howard. None of this is Amy's fault in any way (and I'm beyond ecstatic she's had such success on her own lately) but if the timeline is being followed Sheldon and Amy have not worked together, exclusively for over a year. Now at their wedding they make a new discovery—one that Sheldon insisted credit was shared, something they could finally work together with, something that could be groundbreaking but because of Howard or maybe something else Amy doesn't have time for it. I've grown tired of these "Sheldon messes up and has to learn a lesson" plots but I think this time there's more meat to it. At least in context. It was said in an interview that they were going to focus on Amy as a scientist and as a wife. 12x2 made me so happy in showing the fun of them both being odd, both living in their own weird world. And if this conflict leads to development for both of them I will be very happy.

I'm enjoying season 12 so far that's for sure.

Not worried either about any lasting damage, sounds like it gets resolved in the episode.

Not going to lie it's the type of story I am a little bit tired of and after 11.1 and Amy working with Howard as well last season which clearly highlighted how her own career is important to her (and rightly so)  he should know a bit better by now.  You could go even further back to moments like Shiny Trinket and when Amy started at Caltech for teachable moments for Sheldon.

Sheldon has shown he can learn from things, but of course if the story requires him to forget then that's what it requires.

I quite frankly don't see how this can be spun as a new problem or situation that has suddenly ocurred because they are now married.  Again look back to the past they have had moments like this before around work when they were dating.

Final point on this subject again I hope a Shamy project isn't being used purely as a plot device for other stories and points they want to get across.  After this work life balance issue is  resolved I hope we still see some Shamy project work this season.

I am not worried either about this Shamy plot but I am also a bit tired of these repetitive plots. We are in last season of the show, why they insist in wasting time with repetitive stuff?! The worst is imo some of these plots sound like they are out of order what is Shamy story timeline events concerned, you know... *sigh*

Anyway, I know Sheldon and Amy will make anything working that might disturbe their relationship. They love each other and have learned to communicate better as they are under pressure about something. So I am very curious to watch how the thing will happen and be solved. Cant get enough of watching them on screen as the time of new episodes are really getting close to the end....

So good Shamy vibes ahead! Sharing again this precious Shamy moment , I love, love so much! <3

Steve Holland mentioned at Comic Con (end of July) that they're in the middle of writing the script for the Tam episode.

I'm not sure how far the writers got until they dropped the big announcement.

He said they were like 6 or 7 episodes in when they got the news.

I am extremely confused to see what is in store on Thursday. I wish that they would find a different thing for Shamy to argue about besides him trying to sabatoge her work that does not involve him. I am annoyed that they feel they have to have another Sheldon can't let Amy have sucess story. I wish they would show him in a more supportive role. I was thrilled when he willingly gave Amy so much credit over Super Asymetry theory they came up with at the wedding. Now they revert to old Sheldon. I don't think it will be a huge argument, it does seem to be resolved quickly. Is there not another way they can do Sheldon is still Sheldon while being a good husband? I love how they are being portrayed in season 12, as being happy and in love. I wish they would continue Sheldon's growth into the area of work and not just in personal life. I feel like I have seen enough Sheldon is jealous of Amy at work storys. Been there done that. Hoping professor proton and or Amy will kick him in the ass over doing this to his wife. Again.

Jealous of working with Howard, Jealous of new lab equipment, jealous of coworkers being interested in her work and not his. Come on Sheldon. You fell in love with her brain yet you can't have her having sucess that doesn't involve you?

I haven't seen the episode obviously but I hope it is portrayed slightly different then the reports.

That's the October 18th episode, not this week's.

Then I am confused and not necessarily thrilled about the October 18th episode...Thank you for the correction.

Boy, I hope so. Being a good husband involves more then making sure Amy is getting enough sex (from 12.1) but also includes being supportive of her and her work ambitions...I do hope whatever he did was an accident and not out of jealousy and Amy having success in her own right.

I think it will ultimately go like many of those other moments, there will be something sweet enough at the end that makes you ignore most of the behaviour or actions and you will go away thinking it was a lesson learned for Sheldon and all that. Proton being another way of softening it and lessening whatever happened.

This is what I am expecting/how it will play out (not really specifics, but the general gist)

Sheldon is being an arse about wanting to spend time with Amy on their project but Amy is busy with some research at Caltech, so Sheldon does something perhaps intervening in some kind of way at her work. While not massively damaging Amy's career it makes her look unprofessional in some capacity (a big no-no).

They fall out, Sheldon doesn't realise why she is so mad at him, probably some dialogue or gag like 'but I thought you wanted to spend more time with me' and all that. Maybe Sheldon speaks to Leonard or Penny about it, they tell him he's been a dick.

Sheldon is sleeping on the couch in 4B as he's been kicked out of their bedroom for now (or maybe he crashes in 4A? who knows). He dreams up Proton, Proton explains what Sheldon did wrong and how he needs to be supportive of Amy's career and that's just as important as their work.  Bet you any money we have Proton fading away for the last time or something with probably a Star Wars reference.

Following morning Amy walks into the kitchen to find Sheldon making them breakfast, Shamy have a heart to heart, they perhaps kiss and make-up and that's that.  You get the ocassional episode with them working on their project later in the season.

Aside de potencial issues we might have about this kind of plot as we have been talking about earlier, I wish we could see this scene you wrote. 😊

Sixteen or seventeen days to wait, depending on where we live and how we get it. I really hope before then we get a proper spoiler from someone who was there.

I agree with what you are visualizing happening in this episode, right down to Professor Proton and a Star Wars reference then fading away. Hopefully. It will be a harmless mistake in the long run. I know Sheldon wouldn't do anything out of malice to hurt Amy. I will be currious about what he said or did though...

I agree there will be no damage and it's almost certainly never going to be referenced again or have any real impact I suspect.  It sounds like a standalone story or moment, one to get Proton back into the show one final time.

Proton always appears when Sheldon has an internal dilemma or he is struggling to process something that happened, this is what they have engineered to do that.

I guess prospective fatherhood might have been a moment to bring Proton back but we know that's not happening, the Tam story wasn't a big enough one for Proton.  Actually kind of hard to think of another story subject or topic that would have needed Proton.

Amy has expensive  new equipment that Sheldon, being clumsy, can break or he can inadvertently tamper important samples she is collecting for her experiments. I think it will start with him playing around with "biology stuff" he knows nothing about, and then he discovers he has done a mess...For the rest, I imagine  the episode verbatim as @Jonny described it!

Also...the prospect of Sheldon bonding with his in-laws...

Quote

"Sheldon, you've never cared what people thought, even when you really, really should. That dinner with my parents comes to mind." Season 11, Episode 7

Why on earth did we not get to see this? This is a huge deal for Shamy and especially Sheldon. Such a wasted opportunity.

I hope they come up with something good...maybe Larry has a secret hobby that he can geek over with his son-in-law. :senile:

Well we know that President Siebert is in the episode because Prady Tweeted about Joshua Malina being on set, so maybe Sheldon has to go to him to set things right.

Especially since everyone at Cal Tech knows what Sheldon is like.

One of my friends pointed out to me, that the "old version of Sheldon and Amy" started with the eating scene in 4A from the cold open.

Amy suggested to move to a house without talking to Sheldon first, and Sheldon shut her idea down straightforwardly.

The other scenes, Sheldon couldn't care less about other people's problems, and Amy was having a creepy crush on Penny.

Just like old times.

PS: I must confess I did laugh at the Amy&Penny scene, the whole "your kids and my kids will be friends" was cute and funny, but not Sheldon&Leonard's scene, that scene only told me what names Leonard's nephews had...UGH.

Agree with your friend about this. And as I said yesterday , I laughed at Amy and Penny children talk scene ( for the Mayim acting , not for the content) but I neither laughed at Leonard and Sheldon scene. Both scenes were a waste of time as they were like taking steps back in Sheldon and Amy present characterization.  I add that both could be wonderful chances for showing our Shamy supporting their bestfriends but writers took other route. A pity indeed.

A funny note about Shamy was the tags on Sheldon 's underware. Amy's face was priceless, lol! She is now very familiar with those! :icon_cheesygrin:

I can't take that "15 kids" quote from "I'm not a physical person"-Sheldon seriously anyway, it was so dumb and not even funny.

As if Shamy never talked about how many kids they want before that scene took place.

TBH I can believe that at last. It's easy to imagine that Sheldon might not have had a concrete number in mind for some time or just spoke in vague plural terms about their future children. Heck, even though we know that they'll have kids we still don't know how many.

The "I'm not a physical person" is the one I call bullshit on when he literally drags Amy off to the bedroom just because she said something smart. lol
