So....the latest episode has got me thinking more about if we're going to get a Shamy baby/pregnancy in this season.

We know from what older Sheldon says in YS that they do have children but how are TBBT viewers who don't watch the other show going to know that if it isn't shown? Won't that leave a lot of Shamy fans disappointed and feeling that their story is unfinished? And surely the writer's can't tell such a huge part of Shamy's life in a completely different show!!

I don't want any more babies on TBBT. That said, though, yes, we know Sheldon has some. I always thought perhaps YS would end with Sheldon, with  Amy watching, telling his life story to his kids.

Been saying it for years that I believe we will get time jump scenes in the finale at the end of the episode that shows each character with their children (if they have them of course).  But if we don't I guess I would be disappointed, If they for example showed that scene in YS instead I would YouTube it, I'm certainly not going to tune into YS to find out what happened to Shamy after this show ended.  I also actually think might see even more retconning after TBBT has ended in YS.

I believe Holland when he says there will be no more pregnancy or baby storylines this season, had we got a 13th Season I think we absolutely would have got a story like that during that season.  Holland cited burnout and how the writers found it difficult to write a second pregnancy on the show in terms of creative ideas.  Plus they may have received data from focus groups or whatever and perhaps found some viewer fatigue when it came to that subject.  I fully believe that Holland thought a deal was on the cards for more seasons and would have welcomed a season off from that subject matter.

I know a lot of us are confident and positive that nothing major is going to happen to Shamy in 12x05, like a divorce for instance, but I still feel a little worried about the episode and what's going to happen. I'm more praying that we don't get a repeat of late Season 8/early Season 9 all over again

That won't gonna happen. At worst I expect Sheldon to sleep on the couch but that's about it.

Sheldon wouldn't even fit on that couch. I wish they'd get rid of that ugly piece of garbage. He'd have to go across the hall to his spot, which I do not want him to do. But I don't even expect that. I think they will solve their problems fairly quickly this season. If I'm wrong I'm wrong...

Sheldon trying to sleep on that couch could be hilarious though.

I think it could be like what happened on that privacy zone episode in S.10, not even bedtime, they've already solved the problem.

Totally agree.

Then they decide to buy a bigger place.

Agree with you both.

I don't think they "need a reason" to do both of the things - burn the couch and talking about buying a bigger place, but as I think they just "invented" this 12X05 plot for bringing PP back, so TPTB might really "need a reason" to do things or whatnot.

How I wish they've thought of something different for PP to return.

I know people have strong feelings about this episode (and they're all justified) but for me, this was such a great Amy episode. She asserted how important her field was to her, we got to see her be excited about it and called out sheldon for being selfish, a known flaw in his character, but for me, one of her own flaws was addressed. Now this is just me, but Amy is not the best at being vulnerable. Getting angry, that she's great at but expressing fears and insecurities is not her strong suit. She'll either joke or be matter-of-fact about talking about her lonely past, both clear methods of detaching the emotion from it. Here, not only did she call sheldon out on his crap but she expressed her fear of losing herself. The best part IMO, she wouldn't have done that if sheldon had let her go back to sleep. By stressing how important it was for their marriage to talk about it, it opened the door for her to be honest both with him and herself. Sheldon's "Thank you for explaining" tells me this is the first time she's ever told him that. A tired plot? Absolutely. but it explored Amy as a character and I loved it.

Also, them passing math notes in the beginning like giggly teenagers was the best.

Interesting thing I noticed when reading Mayims review on this episode on Groknation. Her final sentence in her article says that it's the Halloween episode next week (we knew that already) but then she says that she's excited for everyone to see Amy's costumes not costume. So my guess is that not only does she dress up as Clara Clayton from Back to the Future 3 but I think that Sheldon will in act revenge on Howard for dressing up as him (which I think is happening anyway) and he and Amy will dress up as Howard and Bernadette at Leonard and Penny's Halloween party that's just my prediction anyway

Mixed feelings about this one, but I'll just say positive things here:

1. Always loved to see Amy at her lab, working various projects, and wearing lab coats. Yeah.

2. Their sitting there and giggles in the cold open reminded me one of my favorite episodes of the show - Herb Garden. So, just priceless.

3. Loved to hear that Amy was hard to be replaced, and Siebert saying she was important to the university.

4. Their talk in the bed (sidenote: TPTB really loved to give them bed scenes, huh, LMAO).

Like @Jedichic98 said,(love your post, BTW)  if she just went back to sleep, then she was just pressing her anger, it was bad for their marriage, so I'm really happy that she told her feelings to Sheldon, and letting him know her insecurities.

These are very good points. I must admit I missed them. Well done

Good catch! In fact there are no promo pics of Sheldon and Amy at the Halloween party, probably they didn't want to spoil this surprise!

@Jedichic98 , your post was great, thanks for your time of writing it and sharing it with us. Imo you summed up very well the best of the epidode as the best was really Amy.

I am just going to  add that although Sheldon was too retro Sheldon from earlier seasons , something that is beyond my understanding and taste about this that is the last season of the show, I enjoyed that Sheldon knew he screwed up with his wife as he couldnt sleep peaceful. Enjoyed especially he insisted to wake Amy up to fix their marriage fight. It was huge to see that  Sheldon love for Amy is so important to him that he does his best for fix quickly every bend on the road. Nice touch!

Btw the maths notes were so Shamy, they were so cute! And Sheldon looking for shoes was priceless!

So now let them bring these Halloween costumes! :icon_cheesygrin:

All I can say in here on this episode is that it reaffirmed my love for the Amy character, she's been my favourite on the entire show since season 4 and it's not close, no other character comes close. I love her personality, her humour, her quirks, her nerdy hobbies and interests, being seen as weird and all that. I also love that she is a strong willed, hard working, independent woman with a career where she is highly respected in her field that has come through hard work and dedication to her craft.

I wanted to give her a hug her so bad in that episode. She should not have had to go through this.

Onwards and upwards onto the next episode, fingers crossed it's a better one.
