I'm glad to see more of this "Larry" character, to think Amy has been "fatherless" for quite some time, LOL...

I think he is funny and awkward in his own ways, similar to Amy I might add, not to mention Teller for playing him, such an amazing casting. 

Mrs. Fowler, I have a feeling, like George Jr., they will "reel it in" on her "crazyness", so to speak. 

Oh, hope to know Mrs. Fowler's first name...

Amy's dad being into magic tricks sounds like fun, considering its Teller.  Sheldon kind of bonded with one his friends mothers (Beverly) and part of that was discussing the same minor bugbears that irritate them both about their son or daughter or in the case of Sheldon his friend, so to see Sheldon doing that with Amy's mother doesn't surprise me.  It's all about finding a common ground sometimes when trying to establish a relationship and for Sheldon that's criticising them lol.

As long as the criticisms are fairly minor like for example how they eat their breakfast that's fine and has some comedy value.

I'm still hoping for an Amy centred story involving her parents, but we shall see if that happens later this season or not.

I really enjoyed Teller and Kathy Bates in the Season 11 finale, though I felt their story was a bit flat in the opener this season, here's hoping it's more like the former story as they are fantastic additions to the universe.

Not much direct Shamy interaction but they had a plot where Sheldon decides to bond with his in-laws because he “wants to be a good husband and since they’re important to Amy, by the transitive property, they’re important to him”. Cut to Sheldon trying to bond with Larry and failing once Larry finds Howard’s magic tricks more exciting than Sheldon. So Sheldon moves on to Mrs Fowler next and they surprisingly bond once it comes out that Amy used Sheldon as an excuse not to spend time with her mother and so Mrs Fowler realizes she’s been angry at Sheldon for no reason all this time. And they bond over their hatred of Amy and her dad putting ketchup on eggs (amongst other things - there’s a cute like where Amy’s mom tells Sheldon how can he defend Amy when she’s thrown him under the bus and he says she’s his wife and he loves her and if he can forgive her putting ketchup on eggs he can forgive her this). LOL. Sheldon now finds Mrs Fowler a delight. 

I can’t believe I got so lucky to see Kathy Bates act right in front of me with Jim and Mayim! There was a blooper with Kathy and Jim that was just hysterical that I’m 100% sure is going to end up on the DVD. 

The other plot was about Raj and Anu planning to sleep together for the first time and Raj getting so stressed out he relapsed back into his inability to speak to her while sober. It was a surprising twist and a cute resolution but nothing to write home about. 

SOUNDS AMAZING! I am so looking forward to this. I love Teller and Bates.

I thought the Shamy part of the episode was delightful! ❤️

Like, Amy's parents were a hoot and a half as expected and I loved seeing more of their relationship with Amy.

Amy and her dad are so cute and sweet together. "Hey, pumpkin!" Awwwwww In general, Larry is such a sweet guy. OMG the way he reacted to Howard's magic was adorable. Bonus points for him being, well, Teller so that was hilarious.

With Amy's mom (who still has no first name??) I thought Amy getting busted played out hilarious! Great comedic timing from Kathy and Mayim hahaha And Sheldon both annoying her and then charming her socks off was fun as well.

I also found the vegetable running gag funny. "Old Lady Greens Beans" made me lol

Shamy calling each other "Honey" and "Dear" was cute as well. hahaha

I liked that Sheldon made the effort to try and establish a relationship with Amy's parents, I also liked how he defended her to Mrs Fowler when perhaps he would have a right to feel more upset with her actions.

I also think this show could have a storyline one week that does explore Amy and her Mother's relationship a bit further and maybe we get some kind of nice payoff from it for the Amy character, perhaps a softening of their relationship moment or something like that.

I'm disappointed for the outcome of Shamy joint work, I would have really wanted them to succeed. Anyway, Jim and Mayim's acting was outstanding in showing how sad and angry Shamy were. The bed scene was a very nice one. I can't say I liked the episode (also, well...mostly, for the totally inaccurate way it depicted the writing process) but I liked Shamy very much in this one.

Yeah, I agree. Putting aside that the process of writing a paper was nonsense I loved Shamy as a team and their emotional scenes were brilliant! Both the bed scene and the day after were so well acted. ❤️

A pity their project came crushing down like that but at least it was nice to see them act out their disappointment cause that's like how I feel about it. Well, better luck next time?

I'd like to see them really study the Russian paper and find something in it that they can work off of. i wonder if there is something that could be done now to prove a conclusion from a 70's paper was wrong. And I'd love to see the Russian that wrote it turn out to be the janitor from the physics bowl and have him help them do it.

I would have had a greater desire to see Shamy's project actually going somewhere over having to see them cope with a gut wrenching disappointment but hey that's just me and i'm not a writer.  Fans of the show sometimes want to see different things happen or come to pass.

Nonetheless I thought the scenes were well acted by Jim and Mayim, probably the best acting performance by them so far this season IMO.

I would like to echo what @Die Zimtzicke said in that I hope that their depression is temporary and they still find a way to work together in some way going forward.

The 4B bedroom scene is very great in this episode, very touching.   I especially love Amy's tenderness as in "I'm upset too but I'm trying to hold it together for you", and her outburst later, very real to me; I also love Sheldon's expression when he looks at Amy after Amy's outburst, I could see he has tears in his eyes, at that moment, I really felt for these two. Sigh.

I'm glad to see another outstanding "Shamy's 4B bedroom scene", there are a lot of these scenes from S.10 and S.11, and I love them all.

The couch scene is funnier than I thought, I know I shouldn't laugh at this, but I really think they are adorable in their PJs, eating, drinking, and depressing for this whole mess...

I'm sad about this SA project, this was my biggest expectation of Shamy's plots from the final season...Now, maybe cross my fingers about the flag convention plot... 

15 episodes till the end, how episode flies!

@KripkeRules thougths summed up pefectly mine after watching  this episode. I really loved how our Shamy interacted to each other, their love is stronger than ever and I am happy , even the storyplots could be much better they have been this season,  their chemestry is always the mirror of an unconditional love between a couple who love each other truly.

I am really disappointed and sad for the way Shamy s Assymetry  project got over. Like they said it was something  they began in their wedding day which they invested much of themselves, imo it was cruel it ended like that, being this season the last. Shamy are pure Science and that may allow us to watch so nice plots but writers seem they are on that route,unfortunately.

Sheldon 's look at Amy as she opened up about her sadness and her reasons for her apparently calmmess was very moving. It was my favourite Shamy moment of the episode indeed.
