Looking forward to seeing the pics when they're uploaded to a site that's viewable from here.

I managed to see them, maybe they didn't geo-block this time or it didn't work

ETA: And now I can't. I guess it was a temporary bug

I wonder if in their timeline it's their anniversary too. The Nobel Prize announcements for 2019 will be in October, specifically the Nobel Prize in Physics will be announced on October 8th.

https://www.nobelprize.org/prizes/about/prize-announcement-dates

Could be. In 12X20, they watched Avengers : Endgame, that movie's release date was April 26th in US, and in 12X21, Sheldon mentioned buying their Anniversary gift on Amazon, so I think it was not May 12th yet. I can't pinpoint the timeline in 12X22, but I think it was still in May.

If they are gonna follow the REAL timeline for Nobel Prize announcements, then perhaps there will be TWO time-jumps?

But then again, based on the Nobel writing this season, I think they are gonna ignore the real timeline, and just go with it...LOL. So, still one time-jump.

This makes me a bit less nervous (from Mayim's interview with US magazine)...

Quote

The Emmy nominee went on to recall the moment the finality sunk in: while acting out a scene with Jim Parsons. (The duo play eccentric couple Amy Farrah Fowler and Sheldon Cooper, respectively.) “We pre-taped the last episode before the audience even came in, so we kind of had it in the can. We knew that we would have that, and the last scene that we pre-taped was me and Jim,” she said. “It’s a very emotional scene. It’s a really big scene, and it’s a really beautiful scene. And I remember that hit me like, ‘This … If nothing else happens, we have completed the last episode.’”

I feel like it's a mistake to go to my old life and look for spoilers.

I survived 4 years being spoiler-free but look where I am now.

Hi guys!

I'm totally OK with Sheldon and Amy not winning the Nobel Prize. I have a feeling it's leading to that. What if the kicker here is that the very last Shamy scene is them discussing about having a baby instead? Or am I making a shitty assumption?

Edit: backtracked a bit in the thread and I guess everyone here thinks they'll have kids someday but I'd be OK if she isn't pregnant by the end. I never expected them to even get married during the series and see how far they've come! That's what's fan fiction is for.

I'm kind of nervous with the title of the last episode. Who's the victim that became enamored with their captor? Jaime lan--- wait wrong show.

Plot twist: the dark ending is that this is all Leonard's daydream when they were at the door. All those after episode 1x01 never happened. 👀

I gotta say, this speculation has been floating around for a few years that I don't think it is a plot twist anymore.  LOL.

The writers ruled it out, they said it has been already done in an old show Bob Newhart was in (I've no idea what they were referring to, but I guess it was famous in USA) and they can't do any better than that. I remember that, many many years ago, when they did something vaguely like that in Dallas, wiping up the previous season and pretending it was a dream of one of the characters, I was so furious and I felt to have been mocked...I can't imagine how I would react if TPTB decided to wipe up the whole show as a dream!

I don't think they'd want to do such damage to potential DVD sales. Who'd buy it if they knew it was all going to turn out not to be real ?

I remember when the news broke that Bobby Ewing's death was going to be Pam's dream. Like many others I watched the beginning of the first episode of the next series of Dallas only to see if it were true and then I switched off. I'm gad the writers have said they've left the TBBT characters where we can all imagine their lives carrying on.

Exactly.

I remembered some articles saying TPTB gave the reporters fortune cookies after the last taping, and which said something like "it's not the end, you can always see the show on syndication" (I can't remember the exact words, sorry).

And this told me that they won't do anything that awful to the show's finale, because they will want TBBT to live for a long time on syndication......

There was backlash from more than one area of the fandom on what Dallas did and there would be immense backlash from more than one part of the fandom if they pulled that here. I remember an especially huge backlash from the fans with special needs children because they erased the fact that one of the characters was expecting a baby with Down's Syndrome. They were hoping that would be portrayed well because at the time there were not many people with disabilities on shows. I just don't think what they did on Dallas or Newhart would ever be accepted today, since it was barely accepted then, although Newhart did it best.

By the way, I love Rubyanjel's pictures of Mayim and Jim. Those are adorable.

They couldn't have had sheldon be nicer to Amy when she got a make over? Crushed. I am crushed. She looked amazing. Celebitory hitting Sheldon? Oh boy.

Huh, that's weird. I guess having moved on from being too obsessed with Shamy made me think that his reaction after seeing Amy have a makeover was something I personally have expected and think to be in character. Even back in season 6-8 we already had sooo many discussions about it in fanforum and other fansites and even on tumblr that he probably wouldn't like it not because he doesn't think Amy isn't pretty, he just doesn't do well with change. So, them doing it for this episode made me think it was simply natural. The fact that he said Amy was his last straw kind of made me chuckle internally, reminding me of numerous arguments of how that scene might happen. Heck, hundreds of fan fictions were written about this "what if" moment. I do like it was Penny who kind of reminded him that change is a constant thing. I love the whole older sister kind of moment with her here as well.

I liked the Penny conversation as well. It seemed to get through to him a little bit.

I think it was very IC for him to not "like it" or "love it" like what happened with Amy's wedding dress, he was already frustrated with all the changes, he even yelled at Leonard for not having Earl Gray...And then, there it was, Amy with a makeover, so, of course he couldn't handle it well, not because he didn't think Amy was pretty, but because there were too much change in one day.

Hahaha, like what happened with Amy's apartment in S.10, and the dream with several versions of Sheldon in S.11, this was the third time that I thought maybe the writers have been writing fan fictions secretly, LOL.

Spot on.

Only God knows how long I've been waiting for the good old Sheldon/Penny scene/plots, perhaps since S.7, and I'm happy to say, this scene gave me what I want.

And, also, Amy was the one who finally made him realize that yes, his actions hurt his friends, and sometimes, his wife.

Sheldon was asking Amy the core question straightforwardly, and Amy was willing to admit it, no sugar coating it.  Powerful plot, amazing performance, I just love it so much.

That and the sweet and funny stairs scene were my favorite Shamy parts from the finale, oh, and of course, seeing them doing the speeches, wearing the medals, and honestly, how many couples do you know can have this conversation: "How does it feel to be married to a Nobel Prize winner?" " You tell me."  I know, except for the Curies, of course, LOL.

Oh, before I forgot, so Shamy's coital tally are now up to 12, so this is totally an Easter Egg for the finale, right?  LOL.

I actually thought it was in character for him as a last straw with being over-whelmed by so much change.

A much better discussion is taking place on a well-known discussion board....

Can we get a few GIFs with Amy's new look(s)??

Uh, oh. Sorry for this late service. My workstation broke down on Saturday (just in time for the end of the show?). Now after a short repair, all right, here we go. 🙂

I'll put it right here in this thread. That seems appropriate to me and I hope you like it. 😉
