She especially liked the outfit she wore in the Halloween episode when she came home from work. She said that jacket/pants set costs big bucks. Guess TBBT budget this year has no limit! It also holds up better over the course of a shoot...keeps it shape, wrinkles less etc. BBT characters often repeat outfits, so the more expensive clothing holds up to repeated cleaning and rewearing, which keeps the wardrobe department from having to purchase multiple copies of the same outfit. Except, Penny gets outfits that are several 100 dollars and wears them once, meanwhile they buy cheap shirts for the guys that are like 25 bucks and they wear them repeatedly over the years. The clothes are expensive IRL, but I don't think they're supposed to cost as much in-story. Also, the production may not pay full price, my guess is they get a discount.
