Information for Attending a Big Bang Theory Taping

Last year, when I went, there were two rows of VIPs.  This year, in January, there were three rows.  Now, tonight, there were four  I don't see the number getting smaller as the last taping gets closer.

This wrong how they are doing this ticket s its not the vips wh made this show its the fans  i am over big bang theory the way they have  handled things with there fans they always say our fans come first its bullshit

I got Non-standby tickets for the March 19th's Taping. Im planning to arrive at 2pm.  I don't want to be the first in the door, but also not the last. With the fact that 2 non standby tickets did not get in, Is 2pm sufficient? I would imagine the last few to arrive with non-standby's would be turned away in the event of More VIP's than normal?

Had a blast at the Big Bang Theory taping!!

We had regular tickets and got there at about 1:30. We were 20th for regular tickets. There were about 4 center rows of VIPs. With a cast and crew of over 200 and these being the final episodes, it is understandable that they also being fans of their own show would want special people in their lives there. For example, one of the VIPs was Johnny's mom and one was one of the writer's (I think, may have been producer) Teacher from back home.

The Ellen thing was likely a one time special thing since Ellen was featured on this episode so they may have filmed that bit during that Ellen's taping. 

A few people asked to take pictures with us. I got complimented by the head of wardrobe between scenes (and by someone else who works in wardrobe afterwards). Johnny Galecki's mom (who was in the front row) said "woah you are Sheldon" when Mark shared why he liked Big Bang Theory. I got to go up to the front of the audience to do a little dance between scenes and Mayim waved at me and while dancing, she got Jim and other crew to turn towards and the MC brought Mark down too and Mayim and Jim waved at Mark and we waved back . No phones were allowed inside so no pics or video from that.

Wow ! Congratulations ! Glad you had a good time. You won't forget all that in a hurry.

Do you remember anything of  the title and the story ? Spoilers are not forbidden in this forum. If you  want to write anything, the Spoilers Season 12 Discussion Thread is the place. However, if  it would take away from your enjoyment and feel like a chore, don't bother. We're just happy for you that you made it and had such a memorable experience.

2PM should be just fine, but it obviously gets worse and worse!

Noone here can guarantee you anything, but we went to several tapings in the past including this year, we never arrived before 3PM, rather 3:30-4 PM and we never had any problem getting in.  All regular tickets of course, I would never queue with standby tickets, I like the show but I definitely can't be labeled as a "huge fan"

Johnny's mom flew in for the taping. Jim's mom and sister were there supposedly. A lot of family and friends were attending. This show has ran for 12 years, very very few go that long and its iconic. This has been a huge part of the actors life, so it's only natural they want to share its last episodes with who they are close to

Of course the cast and crew want their relatives and teachers there. You'd think for these last weeks AU would deploy a big screen in another room or building or put up a tent for the overspill of fans rather than turn them away. It's a special occasion.

*** The final two shows for the current production season are scheduled to be filmed on April 23 and April 30. A limited number of ‘standby’ tickets only will be released for those two show dates.

Seems like the last chance to get tickets for anyone was when the tickets were released for 04/09 taping

It also means if only VIPs are getting in, we'll get no spoilers.

Yes, I had a general admission ticket and got in. Bittersweet because it's the last one I'll ever attend but got to meet some great people, and of course the taping was fun.

I was at the taping also. I was pretty sad when I left knowing it would be the last one

I'm devastated. April 23rd was my only chance  While I would show up at 6am to wait in line if I had to, I know there's nothing in the world that would convince hubby to do the same. And we have a 2 year old, so my dad was going to fly down with us to babysit her, but I would feel bad abandoning her all day to go wait in line for potentially nothing. So so so disappointed

If you're willing to try to get in on standby, would your husband be okay if you went alone?

I wish it was announced earlier that regular tickets would not be available for April 23, like they did with April 30.

I don't expect any standbys to get in from here on out. If they do I'd be surprised.

He would majorly roll his eyes at me, but probably be fine with it. 

We're flying in from Ontario, Canada though, so I think I'd be more devastated if I waited all day and didn't get in vs. not even trying at all/not getting hopes up. I wish hubby could have gotten his vacation days a few weeks earlier 😥

I was in the taping on the 12th too and it was my first and last taping. i got there about 1pm on a general admission (if its sunny i recommend bringing something to shield you from the sun as it can be pretty hot). It was very full that day and i was actually surprised that two non- standby didn't get in. I think the most annoying thing is ...there were actually at least 1 or 2 seats inside that were supposedly free. The people in front of me were taking up more than 1 space (= 2 person = 3 seats) i mean the seats are pretty small but i am pretty big but i made myself squeeze in and make space for others as i know how hard it is to get tickets and i don't think people mind squeezing in if it mean other people get the chance to see it for the last time - Maybe there were ViP's and and of of their friends/family didn't make it so they can sit loosely

My sister and I were able to attend the 4/19 taping this week, our first and last taping! We had non-standby tickets and got there at about 1pm. We were 15th and 16th in line. They interviewed some of us asking what the show meant to us so I’m guessing there will be some kind of tribute to the show which will be cool to see. Once they separated the line into standby and general admission, we were told that if you have a general admission ticket and are higher than #50 in line, you are automatically considered standby due to the number of VIP tickets that night. I don’t know how many actually got in. I was happy to get there early enough, but felt bad for all those that didn’t get in. I’m sad the show is ending, but was happy to be fortunate enough to experience a live taping.
