Unlikely characters ?

Penny's brother becomes a (court appointed for community service) farm hand who keeps calling Leonard his dad. Sounds like a good idea. I'd like to see the Wolowitzes in a remote island scientific community where advanced secret work is going on. They're both making a very valuable contribution. Our other scientists get contacted from time to time for their input. The community is very tight-knit. There's a lot of cutting-edge technology, some of which the public doesn't know has been invented yet. I daresay some of the items could be shipped out secretly to be tested on the Hofstadter farm. I have been force fed a few minutes of it a couple of times. To me it is more Leave it to Beaver than TBBT. In fact the Beaver and Kid Sheldon kind of merge in my mind. Of course that could be because I am old. Jim’s voiceover Is of course a twist. It seems more Walton’s than Goldberg’s. And I don’t think it adds anything for any viewers who don’t watch TBBT. I don’t think it is a bad show, it just doesn’t interest me much. I do wonder what kind of success it would have had minus TBBT and my guess is not much. I base that on I don't like YS and I've never seen one second of a single YS Episode. I watch one show with Sheldon Cooper, I don't need another one. 3ku11 Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 Saw a bit of YS. It was cute. Its more in a 70's type format. Yes like Leave it to Beaver, The Wonder Years, Brady Bunch. Sheldon is just as obnoxious as a kid than he is as an adult. It does kinda contradict alot of TBBT cannon. Or reset it, recton etc. I dont find it all that funny. Most likely I don't find anything about it all that subtantial. TBBT is obviousley more original. But i well say this, the fact that some say its better than TBBT right now. No surprises their. But prob suggests most of the writers creativity is going into that show. And whats left goes into TBBT.

veejay Posted July 26, 2018 Posted July 26, 2018 (edited) Just a weird but possibly fun thought... Katy Perry Reveals She'd Like to Film a Comedy After Touring.. justjared.com -“I would do a comedy,” she added, saying she would probably play the part of a comedic best friend.- Wouldn’t she a perfect match to our unfortunate fellow Raj and his little Cinnamon? Hence the reason I don't watch. From what I have read, the acting (Cast) is fine. It just seems they are trying to change everything bad that happened in Sheldon's childhood. He does have an eidetic memory, or so the writers have led us to believe.

It's just not the family as it was presented on TBBT and I don't like that. That's understandable. When one has a view in one's head it's annoying to have that interfered with. It must be like seeing a televised version of a favourite book or a radio programme that's nothing like you pictured. Irritating. However, the Cooper family presented in TBBT was based largely on a child's or adolescent's memories of his view of things and what as an adult he chose to say about them. So, I don't apply an excess of credibility to Sheldon's sayings although for a decade they were all we had. The negative things Sheldon and Mary said about George Senior have yet to be shown in YS but it doesn't mean they won't be. There's an explanation of why Sheldon was given the impression his father wasn't very bright. Others may well come up. For my part I just see the same situation from more than one angle. I guess I just don't expect Sheldon's account of people to be anything like what a more typical persons perception would be. He has also described Leonard a washed up physicist who should perhaps teach history.

He's already there and he's nine. They remember how he tried to buy uranium. They remember Missy was his twin and his mother went to a church that believed the whole of The Bible was to be taken literally. We've seen Billy Sparks and his chicken. We've seen a dog that frightened him. We've seen the origin of making contracts with people. We even know why he took against geologists. We met the psychologist who tested Sheldon and the feisty Meemaw one could imagine bashing a possum. Pop-pop is of course dead and there was mention of Mary's brother Edward. Professor Proton is on the TV. There's more but my memory isn't up to everything.
