[Spoilers] Season 12 Discussion Thread

 I would put my review on the episode thread but it includes information on this Thursday’s episode.

the highlight for me was the Stuart/Denise/Raj. Typically I don’t like the idea of supporting characters getting that much screen time. But in this case I understand why. I think the other three couples being married Raj was okay with. But the idea of Stuart having someone was just too much for him.

The Shamy storyline I particularly didn’t like. Not because it was Shamy but it was done before. The conclusion of the storyline really wasn’t a conclusion unlike Raj’s storyline.

I can understand people not liking that Lenny was really just in the background. My wife hadn’t seen Monday’s episode so we ended watching them back to back so IMO it wasn’t as noticeable their lack of screen time. 

The other thing is the preview of next weeks show. Amy telling Penny they could breastfeed each other’s kid. JMO but Penny not wanting kids during this episode appears  not concrete in stone.

The Raj and Stewart stuff was fine.  I feel like it was more of a set up for future storylines so it was ok if Raj wasn’t totally hilarious.  To me Sheldon with Amy has totally lost his edge, and he needed that edge to be funny.  They both seemed kind of just stupid and childish.  I know we saw only a second of Leonard and Penny, but I really liked them in this episode.

Besides the wedding part it did feel like a nine year Sheldon.

Yes I would say that Sheldon acted childish but that is par for the course.  Leonard & Penny were hardly in this episode. I think just three scenes totalling about  four minutes.  I guess this is a look into what the season will be like.

I think people are all right if their favorites aren’t in it and the episode is good . But the S&A wasn’t very good. I think it was written by someone from the show that comes on after TBBT

I think it's high time they did something with Raj and I actually like Stuart and have wished for a long time that he would succeed at something. Denise seems to have a sense of humor. I think she's a keeper.  I'm glad Raj's dad is just setting him up with a girl instead of actually arranging a marriage, but Raj was an ass to forget Dad's birthday.

I liked the first two clips  above, and all of the Raj part of the last one, but of course in it Howard had to ask how Leonard and Penny are married and they had to say Leonard wore Penny down...AGAIN.

It really bothers me when they say that, but at least we know from the Bitcoin episode that that is in fact, not true, and that she married him because she loved him (which I never doubt)

The cleaning lady was a complete waste of time and so was the drone lady, aside from giving Howard a few funny lines.

You can go on down the list. Both Emily's, Claire, Yvette the Vet, the cleaning lady, drone lady, married lady and the lady working with Bernadette. All were a waste of time. Although, with the talking Emily, I thought a chance was there. It would have, if he'd kept his mouth shut about Penny!

Both of these were just one episode. No big loss. The real time waster was dragging things out with Emily and do nothing interesting with that. Like, they promoted the actress and then write even less stories with her character for some weird reason. And don't get me started on the stupid dating two women nonsense. Gaaawwwd. ugh

If I remember correctly the actress was even included in the show cast credits and suddenly she was not included anymore.It was really weird stuff!

Yes, exactly, she was promoted to regular cast or something cause she was on Bones at the same time and this would mean TBBT would take priority in her schedule. I thought that meant the writers had some nice arc for her and Raj in mind but then they barely had Emily on the show anymore. That was so weird!

I wouldn’t be so scared. Compatibility isn’t based on tests on how much someone has in common, that’s just not the case (not for everyone at least) what should matter is that two people love each other, and are willing to make sacrifices for each other. Leonard and Penny are a perfectly viable couple and just because the writers decide to get some laughs at their cost, it doesn’t change anything. We’ve seen them overcome a load of things during the years, and I’m 100% their marriage can work very well if they decided to actually move them from the dreaded kitchen island. Lenny used to be the main couple, now it’s obviously shamy and that doesn’t mean that Lenny are not worthy anymore. I believe there’s a lot of stories in store for them and I hope they start giving them more protagonism. I know that not everybody will think the same, but imo Lenny is and always will be the best couple (as far as being like an actual couple) on the show. I’m not saying the other couples are bad or worse, I love them both too, I’m just saying that to me Leonard and Penny have something that just speaks out, and simply appeal more to me

100% agree! Shamy will always be the third best couple, barely beating out Raj and Cinnamon! No amount of the writers and Holland forcing Shamy on us will make me believe otherwise!

I found the taping report funnier to read than to watch the 'present'  section of the episode.

Why didn't Shamy just google 'crystal stick' or 'crystal wand' ?  There's plenty of answers and videos.

Were Howardette and Lenny really all so stingey they didn't buy proper wedding presents from a list  for such close friends ?

Or am I missing something ?

Because if they did the episode would of only been on 5 minutes. 

From what I recall Shamy diddnt get Lenny a great wedding present. The present for Shamy was actually a disposable one. Howardette gave it to Lenny for theirs.

Well, "crystal stick" gives you lots of results for deodorant, so that's no help. lol

But seriously, when you don't know what it is and what it's made of then what are you googling for? Google is only as smart as the words you put into it. Even if you put in "crystal wand" you get a lot of results that are more Harry Potter-like wizard wands (and some vaguely NSFW things) instead of the chakra wand they got.
