Well, unless Leonard spontaneously grows a womb I think he's stuck with Penny's decision by default.

Wow  tough crowd!   But I do think there are two sides to a marriage and I think it would be a more an impactful episode if Leonard dissents a little and shows his displeasure.

Nothing wrong with a bit of a discussion but in the end the woman is the one who bears the child so that should have more weight.

I will say though the weird part is indeed how Leonard apparently just shrugs it off despite allegedly dreaming of their smart and beautiful babies since he met Penny. He even picked out names!

I respectfully disagree if you are saying it was a majority. Some yes, but not all.

Enjoyed an episode for once thanks to Stuart and Denise, they had some funny lines. Leonard and Penny were really good supporting each other.

Assuming the Wi-Fi is still based in 4a ( not an unreasonable assumption, “your Wi-Fi”) why wouldn’t  Leonard just reset the router to default settings, a simple hardwired button press or use data on his phone. For a science based show they sure do make stupid errors in reasoning.

5 minutes to watch an entire show using fast forward to avoid Shamy scenes really works

TPTB dumbed the show down for the audience, the problem is they don’t know a lot of their audience is much smarter than them.

I never did. Never expected it to go anyplace. Early on I thought Leonard was delusional.

Yes Leonard probably would do that as soon as he thought of it. The real question is why did Sheldon not realize he would. The writers are not as smart as the characters are supposed to be. No doubt about that. They have a physics consultant but not a tech consultant.

Yes that is true that is their history. But I have to believe in this final season they will come to their senses and give the fans some of what they want to see. If they don't and TBBT ends up like the last two seasons then I will seriously consider throwing my shoe at the TV.

I hope you're right. I'm unconvinced that these writers will give Lenny anything more than table scraps!

They could ring Howard for tech support. :shy:

The writers prefer shamy.

He had to call tech support for the Raj's helicopter! He somehow got it to work accidently!

I never tuned in for the Lenny romance. In fact I was surprised when it happened. I'm glad Penny grew up over time and saw the value in Leonard.

I thought Thursday episode was fine overall.  The Raj and the  Stuart-Denia plots was the best part of the episode for me. I hope they build on stuart and Denise relationship.

I thought the Shay storyline was a little out of character for them.

Really?

It felt pretty in character (for this group of friends) that a friend or friends in this case, would give a gift to another in this social group as a joke and for their own amusement.  You had like two jokes running throughout this story, one the gift that nobody really wants being past around the group without Raj the person who bought that gift in the first place finding out and the other was it drove whoever received it mad trying to find out what its purpose was.

This is totally in character for a close tight-knit group of friends to mess with each other in this way, it's part of their whole dynamic if they find an opportunity to have a laugh at the others expense it does happen.  It has been happening for 12 seasons.

Shamy not wanting to give in and ask was in character, Sheldon thinks he's smarter than everyone but Amy is just as smart and has shown at times she has that determination as well.  I think its true that Sheldon is clearly more likely to go to further/greater extremes to find out and Amy will eventually give in when enough's enough and she can't be bothered playing anymore.  In this story they were kind of both egging each other on not to give it and figure it out, which lead to...

The Scavenger Hunt is very 'old school' Shamy, this is a couple that used to invent their own games such as 'Counter-Factuals' lol. Again the whole thing was driven by their best friends giving them a gift that was an interesting enough a scenario to have them doing it.

For comedy purposes, it was funny to see them going on a bit of a wild goose chase but still take something extremely positive from it even if it was down to their love for each other that kind of blinded/distracted them to what was really going on lol.

Final scene involving that storyline well I think there is evidence to suggest they 'might' have found out hence the Sanskrit puzzle, but then this is Shamy it wouldn't surprise me at all if they came up with a complex brain teaser as a way of a thank-you lol.

I see this pretty much every time Shamy have a plot where they are happy with each other. It's like with Stuart in this episode and ppl look at them like:

"What's wrong with Shamy?" - "I think they are smiling. It's weird!"

lol

Well, to tell the truth, I always thought Sheldon would be alone his life until moved back home with Mary, Missy and George Jr! I always knew that Leonard and Penny would end up married, living together without Sheldon!  :sungum: :hi:

Also, doesn't Leonard have any say in this?  It seems like it is all Penny's decision. But I will reserve more judgement until I watch the episode.

I would agree on principal, but the thing is, Leonard wouldn't want a) Penny to be unhappy with her life and b) their children to grow up with a mother who didn't/doesn't want them, he had enough of a terrible experience with a mother who seemed to not love him (sure Penny would never be Beverly but I would imagine Leonard would not want anything even remotely resembling that for his children).

That being said, Leonard seems to process the whole thing wayyyy too quickly. He has been dreaming about this for years and this is coming as a surprise to him because Penny did tell him she wants to have kids, and then in a single 18 minutes episode he manages to kind of deal with it? Yes he will be sad, according to the TR, but I would expect him having to take time to process this.

That's where we differ. I have no confidence in TPTB and the writers doing anything good for Lenny. They'll do the same old crap for Lenny. Have them argue over stupid crap then make up in the end! That's the writers style in dealing with Lenny!

I kind of have more hope than I would like to have. I would like to have less hope because this way I keep feeling like a fool and getting disappointed and frustrated. I guess I kind of have hope and don't have hope at the same time, if that makes any sense.

Agree! These writers are very weak when it comes to character psychology.

Why wouldn't he pick out names? If Penny didn't like the names, he'd change them. Seems natural to me that mom and dad would discuss what to name their children! He was already ahead in the game.

@April was trying to point out that Leonard was really into having kids with Penny, and so it is weird he comes to grisps with possibly not having them in a matter of an episode.

Even Sheldon knows they can't be had in an episode!

I don't think it would take a whole episode for Leonard to come to grips and accept Penny's decision on having children one way or the other. But then we don't know how the writers will provide for Leonard to say. These are the same writers who had Leonard kiss Mandy on that ship and made Lenny sign that relationship agreement! So basically we won't know one way or the other until we watch the episode.
